Hi,I have a question about whether or not the USB VBUS connection needs to be made to the micro on the STM32H series micros (in particular the STM32H725) when operating the USB in device mode.We are using a USB-C type connection, so we have an independent IC which performs OTG host/device detection based on the USB-C VBUS and CC1, CC2 USB-C pins, but it is not clear whether we also need to connect the VBUS to the micro's OTG_HS_VBUS pin  (PA9 on this micro) to start the comms sequence when the micro is a device.On previous STM32F series micros I believe it was mandatory to make this connection because it powered the USB transceiver but I'm not sure that this is still the case on the STM32H micros, or whether the new USB regulator can somehow be used to perform this instead (or is that just for host mode)?Thanks for any help you can give with this.Steve

Hello;I'm writing a driver for a tlv493d magnetic encoder using CubeIDE. This encoder has a peculiarity where it pulls the SCL line of an i2c bus low when it has data ready to be read, at which point the MCU needs to initiate an i2c receive transaction to clear the interrupt and read the data. Obviously we don't want the SCL clock pulses to trigger further interrupts, so I think I need to 'do something' to accommodate that. I'm struggling to understand what that 'something' is for this MCU, and how to configure it in this setup.So far, I have configured my i2c1 bus using cubeMX, and can successfully initially communicate with the TLV (to configure registers after a reset). Then, I try to reconfigure the pin as GPIO-exti to receive the interrupt, but this seems to 'break' its connection to i2c. And I'm wondering if this - switching the pin's function back and forth between i2c and gpio-exti - is what I should ideally be doing.My question: is i

I am working with an STM32U585 microcontroller, and I need to perform read, write, and erase operations on the internal flash memory (Bank 1) with TrustZone security enabled. The page size is 8 KB, and I am encountering an issue when trying to write data.Problem Overview:When attempting to write data to flash without erasing, the write operation fails.If I erase the entire 8 KB page and then write, the operation is successful.However, my requirement is to write smaller amounts of data (e.g. 4 bytes) without erasing the remaining (8 KB - 4 bytes) bytes of the page. I only need to erase the specific location that will be written to, not the whole page, to avoid erasing other data within the same page.Current Findings:The flash memory only allows erasing entire pages, so when I need to erase a small portion, it results in the entire 8 KB page being erased, which is not ideal for my use

Hi,MCU -stm32h743I have noticed that some RAMECC1 registers have a non-zero value on reset which is against the information given in the datasheet. For example, see the snapshot below:This is when the control is at the starting of main(). As per table 12 in RM0433, this registers should be 0x00 on reset. MCU: STM32H753VI Scenario:I am working on the error management system for our firmware. Part of that is handling ECC errors in flash and RAM. I have been able to successfully inject and handle flash ECC errors, but am having trouble with RAM ECC. Problem:Requirements specify that I must monitor all regions of RAM with ECC enabled. In the .IOC, I enabled monitoring for every available region of RAM under the RAMECC section. In main.c, I enable notifications and start each monitor. I also implemented the HAL_RAMECC_DetectErrorCallback(). However, I have encountered something strange with both RAMECC1_Monitor2 (mapped to ITCM-RAM) and RAMECC1_Monitor4 (mapped to D1TCM-RAM). I notice that on the NUCLEO-H753ZI board schematic and BOM, the load capacitors are not populated for X2. My thought is that these caps must exist elsewhere, either built into the crystal, or integrated into the STM32H743.. But I do not see any mention of integrated capacitors for either the microcontroller or the NX3215SA crystal datasheets. Dear sir, madami use my new stm32f465vit with my custom Board swclk pin always reset state.PA14 swclk pin always reset state 0v, after i connect 10k resistor swclk and PA13 swdio pin to 3.3v. make it pullup also same PA14 is 0v (VCC)so, I can’t connect with ST link. it’s given message target not connect. In STM32H735IGT mcu I have initialized ADC1 and ADC3 in DMA method, also FreeRTOS is initialized. But ADC1 adc data is not obtained. But i can read ADC3 data. What may be the issue? One of the differences i have identified is continouous DMA request enable option is not available in ADC1. Also I have tried with basic adc polling method still ADC1 is not working. System clock I have enabled as timer 6 since for FreeRTOS req system clock should not be systick. Attached below  code.

I have a firmware running on an STM32H755. All working fine until I added a secure bootloader to the firmware and now the firmware crashes when initialising TIM3.My setup: STM32H755 on custom boardSBSFU (1_Image)Cubeprogrammer and CubeIDE.I've pinpointed the exact line that the firmware crashes on to be:__HAL_TIM_ENABLE_IT(&htim3, TIM_IT_UPDATE);  Things I've tried: Moving the call to MX_TIM3_Init to different points in the function. Still fails at that point.Commenting out the offending line. Firmware runs past this point but I need the timer. Calling the initialise function as part of the UserApp that comes with SBSFU on a Nucleo board. Hello, We have purchased the following boards recommended by STM in order to work on UCPD Source and Sink applications: 1. Two NUCLEO-G071RB boards 2. One X-NUCLEO-SRC1M1 3. One X-NUCLEO-SNK1M1 We downloaded the repository of board and imported the following default examples from its pack: X-CUBE-TCPP (4.1.0) : 1. SRC1M1_Source 2. SNK1M1_Sink But while logging the traces, we observe that Explicit Contract is not negotiated. I am sharing the traces from STM UCPD Monitor tool Ver 1.3.0 and also the test set-up. I am experiencing an issue with the STM32 microcontroller used in a Battery Management System (BMS) application.Issue Details:I am using ADC to measure Temperature using NTC and voltage.When a specific GPIO pin is detected as HIGH, all ADC channel values get stuck at the same reading.The issue is resolved only after resetting the microcontroller.This behaviour occurs randomly and is not consistent across all boards, making it difficult to reproduce.I am using FreeRTOS in the microcontroller.Additional Information:The system is running FreeRTOS.I am using channels 5 to 16 on ADC1.ADC configuration: Sampling time is set to 24.5 cycles, and the mode is Single-Ended.A filtering circuit is connected to the GPIO to handle noise and transients.Has anyone encountered a similar issue or could provide guidance on debugging this problem? Hello!I am running the UART_Printf example on my Nucleo and the output to USART3 (default) works fine, but when I change the output to USART2 or USART6, it doesn't send data.

I need to update ST based peripherals, due to constraint of wiring and flash size, I may not be able to connect BOOT pin or make a custom bootloader on the peripherals. I am planning to implement ST's boot protocol on host side, and add a command to tell the peripheral to reboot into sys BL (0x1f000000). I did a quick try but it fall into a hard fault after set_MSP and jump.  So is it even possible to jump to system BL without asserting BOOT pin and RESET?

Hello,SDRAMs are available in different speed option -5, -6 or -7. IMHO this specifies the max. SDRAM clock at CAS=3, but SDRAM can configured via CAS parameter to be used at a lower clock frequency.Alliance Memory -7 for example can be configured CAS=3, 2 and 1, ISSI only with CAS=3 and2.The lower the CAS value the lower the max. clock frequency, here for the -7 chip at CL3=133, CL2=100 and CL3=50MHz and the higher the access time.According to the H7 datasheet, the max. FMC Clock is 100MHz. Regarding Alliance Memory, I would expect to configure CL=2 for 10ns clock.The STM32H753_EVAL2 is equipped with ISSI speed option -6 and is configured CAS=2.

Hello everyoneI use an ESP32 to start a firmware update. The bootloader has been started, the esp32 writes block by block. In the end, I use the Go Commad from Bootloader Command Sets to jump into the application. My sequence.1. set BOOT0 Pin back to low2. esp32 sends 0x21 and 0xDE3. receive 0x794. then esp32  sends 0x8000000 + 08(Checksum)5. bootloader acknowledges it with 0x79but the new firmware won't start. Is there a suggestion why this is the case ? When I press the reset button the firmware will be started, but I don't want any hardware solution

I'm trying to setup a pin configuration so that I can start making a PCB. I want to use two NAND flash ICs connected to the STM32F415ZGTx using the FSMC, setup in a way that there is a redundant backup of data and logs in the event of a failure. When I go to configure both, it seems that they both are using the same NWAIT pin so I am not sure whether I should continue to use this same pin for both chips or if I should switch to using INT2 and INT3.  I also have PSRAM in the configuration which also seem to be using the NWAIT pin (PD6).Sorry in advance if this is a dumb question :) - first time using STM32CUBEMX/IDE so I am pretty new to configuring pinouts.  Mostly just used prebuilt boards but I wanted to learn how to work with the platform.
