STM32 MCUs Products

Hi,I am using stm32l412 controller with an external flash w25q128 in quadspi mode. I am able to read and write on to the flash memory. but I am unable to use it as an external loader. I referred many tutorials, I edited the linker script to add a section which created a space for external flash memory. I tried to add a data to that particular memory space but, it is not showing in the memory. STM32L072 has USB as Additional Functions instead of an Alternative FunctionThough in one of my Earlier Post It was briefly explained, It felt to have a Dedicated Post in General Thereby this Post to Better Understand the Difference and Way of Working with them.What Exactly are the Difference Between Alternative Functions and Additional Functions?I found this in one of the Documentations, But Can Someone Elaborate this to me?Doesn't those Peripherals which are Additional Functions Such as in L072 for USB, Need any GPIO Initialization?  PLEASE IGNORE THIS POST AS I SOLVED IT I TRIED TO DELETE THIS POST BUT THERE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE A DELETE OPTION? Hi,trying to read the temperature of one of the simplest I2C temperature sensor ever... the TMP1075 (datasheet attached).The bizarre thing is that the room temperature is around 23 degC but...:1) when I heat it by placing my finger on the sensor the read value actually decrease and viceversa when I cool it2) the value read is around 33 to 38 (depending on whether I warm it up or cool it) instead of roughly around 22 to 25 deg The address is correct (I set A0 to 1 on the PCB) and there are no other devices on the bus. Lost track of how much time I have spent on it so far... Does anybody have any idea what could be the reason?Thank you as always! :)    

I am having trouble configure the USB-C port for serial output. The board I got is a "BlackPill" and I have went to try some example code for USART2 and USART6, however, upon a reset, I still do not have a COM port appear. Any advice?

Hi all, I have a problem with a new version of an existing PCB using the STM32F334C8T6 microcontroller.Known working code is loaded onto the new PCB, power is applied and the MCU starts up the clock and then seems to sit idle. If the NRST pin is then driven low and released the MCU starts up and begins operating normally. Holding NRST low on power up and then releasing it after a duration does not work, the MCU must attempt to start up and fail first. NRST is connected to a 10kΩ to +3V3 and a 100nF to 0V. BOOT0 is connected to a 10kΩ to 0V.The signals here (top to bottom) are:old PCB +3V3old PCB NRSTnew PCB +3V3new PCB NRSTWh

Hi, I'm currently using Nucleo-U575ZI-Q.I've done nothing to it except leaving it for a day and just plugged it to my laptop again but it doesn't recognize my board now.When I connect it with my laptop, fail.txt shows up with a message "The interface firmware FAILED to reset/halt the target MCU"I figured out that the voltage supplied by the USB is 0.7V which is way lower than the operating voltage.How can I fix this? I'll add a photo that shows how it looks after I hook up with my laptop.Also this is the error message from STM32CubeProgrammer(I tried to reset the firmware):22

Hi,I use a STM32H7B0 100 pins and we would use a DMA to transfer data from 1 memory location to another.Therefore we use DMA1 stream 3 with a datasize of "Half word".What is very strange is that we cannot disable the option "Use Fifo" in stm32Cube.Now when we start the DMA with:  HAL_DMA_Start_IT(&hdma_memtomem_dma1_stream3, (uint32_t)&srcBuffer, (uint32_t)&DestBuffer, 1000); The transfert is done and we seen the data in de destination buffer, but when we restart theDMA again there isn't no transfert more to the destination buffer.When we look in the registers of the DMA, we seen that the DMA was locked / HAL_DMA_STATE_BUSY and no error statusThe HAL_DMA_Start_IT() was called from the HAL_ADC_ConvCpltCallback() (~ every 1 ms)We had also tried to start the DMA only when he w

Hello, I'm just evaluating the STM32H7R3Z8 for a new project. I'm having two issues, possibly with the STM32CubeMX, or maybe I'm just not understanding the part.1) No matter what I do, I cannot seem to enable PSSI. The combobox is grayed out with "Disable" selected. If I mouse over, it says, "DCMI and PSSI are an exclusive choice". DCMIPP is currently disabled for both Application and Boot profiles, and the combobox if I select DCMIPP is set to "Disable". Hi everyone,I'm working on decoding an SBUS signal, which uses an inverted normal UART protocol, supposedly at 100 kBd. However, I'm consistently encountering a HAL_ErrorCode 4 (which I believe indicates a framing error). The setup works fine when the MCU isn't too busy and when the interrupt size is set to 1. But under higher loads, the error occurs frequently.I've tried various configurations to resolve this issue, but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on how to address this?Thank you in advance!

I was going to submit a forum feature request to add an "Insert Appnote Link" button to the editor with filtering capability to save members some time when answering question. I immediately realized that will never happen.Then I realized that while I already made this list for my own use, it may be useful to other regulars, so why not share? It was scraped a few months ago, and will obviously grow stale over time. It's also limited to STM32 products. It may not be complete, but that's because it's difficult to navigate the maze that is ST's website. I Hope it will be useful to some of you. 

Hi folks,For the past 2 days, i tried to setup a simple SPI communication to feed a shift register with 7-segment data.I already have done this in the arduino IDE, using shiftOut.Now I want to make this more elegant with the CubeIDE. I set up an SPI1 and connected it to the SER input. Clk also connected to SPI Clk. Hello, I have a problem with a STM32L031G in a custom board. The program don't run after the program. BOOT0 is connected to gnd via 10K resistor. Hey,We using an STM32H7B0 100 pins MCU.With this mcu we will sampling 1 16 bit ADC input at 1 MHz and we using a DMA in circular mode for 1000 samplesThe ADC clock works at 48Mhz, the clock precaler for the ADC is divided by 32 and the sample time is 1.5 cycles.So, 48Mhz / 32 / 1.5 / 1000 = 1Mhz, but we when seen that the sample rate is only at 75Khz.The 75Khz was measured with a GPIO toggle output pin in the HAL_ADC_ConvCpltCallback() end of single convertion call back.What we doing wrong?

After downloading the program using STM32 ST-LINK Utility, the download is reported as successful. However, upon power cycling the device, the program does not run. It requires clicking "Connect" again after the program has been downloaded for the program to start running. This issue only occurs with some chips, even though the download environment is the same for all.

Hi!The DEBUG build version of my custom loader is working but is slow, so I tried RELEASE build instead to hopefully get a smaller bin-file with a faster and more efficient execution.However, CubeProgrammer fails at startup with a “loading-file-error-message” and in the list of loaders my loader have blank fields of memory size, page size etc (failed to parse…)What are the reasons for this?Any compiler settings that should be changed?

Hi,On the STM32 F4 products, there is a hardware/ROM bootloader, that can be activated through the BOOT0 pin. It works great, no issues with that.In a production environment, I would like to flash the board automatically, without manually pressing buttons on a board.My question is related to the "initial condition" of an STM32 F4 MCU. I was hoping the bootloader would be activated on boot, if there is no application to run. E.g if the flash memory is erased and all FF's.I tried doing a full chip erase and reset, but it does not enable the USB DFU options.Is the default behavior, from the factory, that the ROM bootloader is active? Without activating the BOOT0 pin.Any recommendations on how to flash an STM32 MCU in a fairly low volume production environment? Preferably, using the USB connection and not the SWD connectivity.

Hi.  We are using STM32G0x0 family in our project. We are running ADC clock at 30MHz. The sampling time is 7.5 cycles, we configure the ADC to trigger every 500uS so Trigger Frequency = 2kHz  and the resolution is 10bits. I know the Tconv = Tsampling + 12.5 = 20cycles = 666.7 nS. How do I calculate Tacq?

HiI am working on a STM32G484QET6 uC. On a timer I have configured two output channels with Output Compare Toggle Mode. So that I get a quadrature signal.When configuring the first value, everything works perfectly. The duty cycle is 50% and the phase shift is 90 degrees to each other.But in my application I have to change the frequency during the run, means also the CCR value to keep the 50% duty cycle. When I update the values, I stop the timer and then, after updating I restart it. Now I have the problem that the polarity is sometimes swapping after changing the values. For example, the channel 1 signal is behind channel 2 and I want it the other way around.How do I change the values so that this doesn't happen?Thank you!RLD
