Hi Everyone!My STM32F401 MCU is a master for communication with an I2C device which requires to write 3 bytes and than read 2 bytes. This cycle repeats each 50 ms. Each cycle includes:Check presence of the slave device using HAL_I2C_IsDeviceReadyWrite 3 bytes with HAL_I2C_Master_Transmit_DMAShort delay for some other operationsCheck presence of the slave device using HAL_I2C_IsDeviceReadyRead 2 bytes using HAL_I2C_Master_Receive_DMAMost of the time every thing works as expected, here is a single cycle:However, randomly (at least I have not seen any pattern) STM generated additional byte transfer in the read sequence, after a NAK has

STM32G4 reference manual description offers only monitoring "Busy flag (BSY)" to check if SPI transfer is complete.In order to make sure the transfer is over I have to do polling of this bit. It is waste of time and resources.Is there any other reasonable way to detect the end of transfer with interrupt event generation?If I have both TX and RX, I can see the RXed data amount to know the TX is over.But in case of TX only I cannot do anything else, but polling.I believe there should be a solution, but somehow I cannot find it.Please, help.

Hi Everyone, in my previous posts i pretty much beat the bush around this subject and i did get some good supportbut i keep getting stuck with this issue.im using STM32H743ZI2 Evaluation board set to 32Mhzthe ADC is 16 bits and running on "fast channel" so therefore should be 1.2Mhz according to AN5354What i need to accomplish is to sample a large ammount of data (around 1MB, but i can settle for 100kb at this point)at a speed of atleast 1MSPSand store it reliably in internal RAM or some other external Memory device via DMAmy issues are:* RAM is limited and even though im supposed to have 1MB to my disposal i'm only managing to build the code for an array of about 220k half wordsuint16_t adc_buffer[220000]* now even when im using this "small" buffer when using DMA with it im only filling the first 65535 values.and the rest are set to 0, according to the DMA Documentation im limited to 65535 requests.*

There is an inconsistency in RTC shadow register update frequency description. Some places in text mentions that shadow register update happens once every RTCCLK period:34.3.5, 36.3.4: "Every RTCCLK periods, the current calendar value is copied into the shadow registers..."34.3.10, 36.3.8: "The copy is performed every RTCCLK cycle."And other place say that it actually happens every other RTCCLK cycle:34.6.7, 36.6.3: "Calendar values (when reading from RTC_SSR, RTC_TR, and RTC_DR) are taken from the shadow registers, which are updated once every two RTCCLK cycles."I assume that "every two RTCCLK cycles" is correct, because some other Reference Manuals state this consistently.

is there a way to search for which stm32h7 mcus have integrated HS usb phy?the mcu finder product selector doesn't have such filter, is there an app note, a product brief or anything like that?How is one supposed to find such a controller? (besides manually checking all of them)Sometimes this is the main and only selection criteria. I didn't even know that such a feature even exists.I just stumbled uppon when i saw that the stmlink v3 has high speed usb but doesn't use an external usb phy.

Hi,For a project I am using a Wiznet W5500 ethernet chip with STM32F401RET6 MCU to exchange data via HTTP over ethernet with a Windows/OSX software application. The W5500 handles the ethernet communication and speaks to the STM over SPI, which all works well so far.Additionally I would like to implement the possibility to update the MCU firmware over ethernet (via w5500) from my application.It seems that this should be generally possible, but I can't find a lot of information how to get started.Can someone confirm that this can be done?Is there any example code for this particular problem or can someone guide me how to get started with this ?I assume I would need to send the binary and write it into the flash somehow?Thanks,Eve

Hi,Can somebody please explain what the "Flash memory endurance" value in the datasheet means? The max number of overall writes to the flash page or the max number of writes in the particular "cell" inside the page?Simple context:Let's say that the MCU has a page size of 2kB, a write granularity of 8bytes (64 bits, the "cell" - 256 of them in the page), and endurance in the datasheet 10k.The application writes from the beginning of the page toward the end. Reaching the end, rollover happens, the page is erased, and the same cycle repeats.How many application cycles are needed to reach the endurance value from the datasheet, 10k or 10k/256?Best Regards,Krunoslav

Hello,Short: I'm developing a USB to I2S bridge, hopefully multi-channels in the end. I don't understand ST designers intention about flow for I2S DMA callbacks . How to do it correctly as expected by ST designers, based on CubeMX generated code? Longer: I want to rely as much as possible on CubeMX code generation and on ST USB UAC1 middleware for future portability reasons. I have a difficulty to understand how ST code intends to implement the mechanism to rearm the I2S DMA once the first transfer is complete between the usbd_audio_if.c and the driver BSP code, I looked at 3 ST examples:Audio_playback_and_record for STM32F4-DISCO (the board I have for development). DMA call back BSP_AUDIO_OUT_xxxxTransfer_CallBacks are coded inside waveplayer.c application code, not in the BSP drive code. Example is working,AUDIO_Standalone for STM324x9I-EVAL. Hi, everyone I am Talha an Electronics student, I was recently working on making an oscilloscope using STM 32. I recently made a logic analyzer using stm 32 f103 RB. I now wanted to make a simple oscilloscope that simply displays the function generator's data. What I want is that I want to give an input signal using a simple function generator and display it on a serial analyzer. Now I don't get the problem as I tried to simply read the data and send it to USART and display it on the serial analyzer but unfortunately, there was a lot of noise, I don't get it what should I do, I have 2 STM 32 one with an ADC in it.It is a request to please help me If you can. I also need to integrate the output with a GUI I've designed using Flutter, but I would take care of it on my own.Help needed anyone with a similar experience please help.

Hi,Just yesterday on my H743VIT6 (rev. V ) on the running TFT : picture faded away...white screen.I just happened to look at the display , thinking ...ok, maybe one of the thin wires just broke now...TFT (small, 1,8" , ST7735 on 3,3V) connected /soldered about May 2022 , on SPI2 , at 48 Mbit . :)(Not touched/changed the wiring since then - so no static problem etc. possible.) Today i tried to fix the problem - but everything still connected !So took the scope to check the signals, beginning with reset ...all look ok, except SPI data !Here super slow rise time...ok, no useful signal for the TFT at 48Mb. (PC3_3 is sick ?)First check short to next pins - no, all free. Then impedance of pin unpowered : high, as cmos should be.Hmmm....try other pin: in Cube could choose PC1 as SPI2 data tx , so i changed to this and soldered the wire also here. Tried implementing ADC conversion on STM32H563ZI Nucleo board. But, getting only a constant value like 66,67,68,69 in serial monitor(Tera term) irrespective of the given input even the i/p is unplugged getting the same values. Need a help to fix this. Thanks in advance!

Hello Community,We are selecting a high stability 12.288MHz HSE to clock our RTC on STM32G0 series MCUs.Kindly suggest if the HSE/32 which is 384kHz would be able to operate the RTC? I did not find any mentions of the maximum clock frequency for the RTC on STM32 MCUs. I understand the RTC has a prescaler, kindly direct me to the correct configurations.Clock Tree configuration using HSE with 12.288Mhz as clock input for the RTC on STM32G0Thank you!

I have been trying to get a TMC2209 and STM32F103 working over UART for a while now.I have followed 2 posts ( I am pretty sure correctly ) on this but I can't add them here as I am a new member, they are already on this community.I have found online that I need to bridge a connection at the back of the driver board I am using, I have done that.I have also found that for the start UART comms I need to set "GCONF.pdn_disable = 1"I think that is done correctly in the code below but feel free to correct me.I have connected a 1K resistor between the Tx and Rx lines as in the datasheet and in one of the posts above.My problems start with the UART connection I believe.I have included nothing else in this code so I can just look at getting this working.I get a 0x05 on Recv[0] each time I run the code but I do not get any other values, I expect to see 0xFF in Recv[1] but I get 0x00.

I am trying to figure out what UART mode do i set in CubeMX configuration for my STM32F407VE in order to connect stepper motor driver TMC2209? Should it be Half-Duplex?This question may fall on TMC2209 manufacturer. Good day I am not sure what I am doing wrong as I was quite successful on other dev kits to import examples. I have downloaded en.stm32cubef2-v1-9-4 from the ST website and I am trying to import some of the examples from th eProjects->NUCLEO-F207ZG->Examples and Examples_LL and Examples_MIX. I am using STM32CubeIde V1.14.1 and none of the examples want to import. I am currently trying to get the Uarr to trigger the interrupt when a character is received. I can even measure the character I send using a scope, but the interrupt does not trigger. I can send a cahracter and that triggers the Interrupt   I hope someone can help.

HiI use HID host as USB profile for getting barcode from scanner (ES4650 scanner).I use STM32F746.Most of the time I get the right barcode, but sometimes it misses a character .I tried giving its interrupt the top priority, but it didn't solve the problem.When trying the same scanner on a PC with a PC software, I always get the right barcode.What can be the problem ?ThanksOfer

Hello all,I have been trying to get I2C communication working on my NUCLEO-U5A5ZJ-Q board based on STM32U5A5ZJJT6U.
