STM32 MCUs Software development tools

I have a STM32 project created for STM32H757 which has dual core CPU. The directory structure is look like this:I wanted to build this project using command line in my ubutnu machine. I have tried with this command:$ <INSTALLTION_DIRECTORY>/st/stm32cubeide_1.12.1/stm32cubeide --launcher.suppressErrors -nosplash -application org.eclipse.cdt.managedbuilder.core.headlessbuild -data "./" -build fx/CM7But it shows "WARNING: No Project matched "fx/CM7". Skipping..."I have tried running it from root of the project directory like "<REPO_PATH>/sca_repo/fx_redesign/fx", also tried it running from inside the fx directory too like "<REPO_PATH>/sca_repo/fx_redesign/fx/CM7/". But output does not changed, I can not figure out what I am missing here, can anyone help me ? 

Hi all,I'm experiencing the exact same issue described in this thread (https://community.st.com/t5/stm32cubeide-mcus/stm32cubeide-stm32cube-project-creation-issue/td-p/823125) with STM32CubeIDE v1.19.0 on Windows. After selecting a target MCU during project creation, the "STM32Cube" option remains greyed out, and I’m only able to create empty projects without CubeMX support.Here’s everything I’ve already tried (based on ST’s recommendations and other users’ suggestions):Set Target Selector Device Database Auto-Refresh to "No Auto refresh" under Window > Preferences > STM32Cube > Firmware UpdaterClicked Apply and restarted STM32CubeIDEDeleted the .stmcufinder folder from my user directory:C:\Users\<MyUsername>\.stmcufinderRelaunched STM32CubeIDE as administratorBut on every launch, it automatically downloads the device database again and the problem returns. This morning I updated my CubeIDE to 1.19 from 1.18.  I assume MX updated too... don't know how to check the MX version.After updating and then opening and migrating my project to 1.19, my OCTOSPI settings and the "octospi.c" file were gone.  When I try to set things back the way they were in 1.18, there is no longer an option for "Quad SPI -- MULTIPLEXED --".  My circuit has a flash IC and a RAM IC sharing the bus on Data [3:0] (Port1 IO[3:0] -- MULTIPLEXED --).  This has been working when using IDE 1.18, but now I'm stuck.How do I setup the new MX to multiplex OCTOPSPI1 and OCTOSPI2 ?

New question split from this thread. Hello, Thank you for your response. I have double-checked and found that the 6.10 version also cannot be configured in this way. I will adopt the single-line mode on the next hardware version. However, there is still a question regarding the configuration of can in version 6.16. Why must the sum of the two parameters in the following figure be 32? Otherwise, there will be a warning. In version 6.13, this issue does not exist. The attachment contains the relevant IOC files.

I got this problem: cube ide is not generating ioc fileit did not enable "next" option, I have latest version 2.0.0 (windows 11)I tried, "Go to Window > Preferences > STM32Cube > Firmware Updater." but that option is not visible, also I tried "Go to Help > STM32Cube updater > Select “Check the Target selector Device Database Updates”" but "STM32Cube updater" option is not visible, what can I try now?

The attachment is the result formatted using the Microsoft C++ plugin (only the Microsoft plugin) on Windows.

It seems that the default map file is set to "folder name.map".How can I change this file name and path?I can see the analyzed view when I run "Open memories analysis" menu from the map file by force. 

 Hi everyone,I've noticed a change in UART pin configuration behavior from CubeMX 6.10.0 to 6.16.0 that has caused a practical issue:Before (v6.10.0): It was possible to configure only the RX or TX pin for an asynchronous UART, enabling "receive-only" or "transmit-only" modes.Now (v6.16.0): Both TX and RX pins must be assigned simultaneously; otherwise, the UART peripheral cannot be enabled.Problem: This wastes a GPIO pin. My specific use case is an SBUS receiver (one-way communication, requiring only the RX pin). Now I'm forced to allocate an additional TX pin that will never actually be used.Questions:1. Is this a permanent new requirement in CubeMX, or is it a GUI bug in version 6.16.0?2. What is the technical reason behind this change?3. Is there any way to achieve a true single-pin UART configuration under the new version?Thanks for any insights.

STM32CubeProgrammer CLI: v2.21.0STM32H573I-DKST-Link (part of DK)Experimenting with lifecycle states, I occasionally (maybe 1 in 3) get an mbedtls error when performing regression. This is with Trustzone enabled, using a leaf certificate. Sometimes running the command a second time will cause it to pass (as in the log below), sometimes the board needs to be reset in order to pass. Hi all,I have recently installed CubeIDE V2.0 onto my Windows machine - it seems to be working okay.I have also installed it onto a Linux machine but the link between CubeIDE and CubeMX is broken (CubeIDE opens it as a text file).  I have CubeMX installed V6.15.0 - I can run separately.Someone said to me that for V2.0 I have to set the .ioc editor link manually - does anyone have the detail on how to do that?Kind regardsPedro

Hi,The new STM32Cube for Visual Studio Code looks really nice but it suffers from (at least one) serious flaw: it does not work correctly when the target project is in a sub-folder.This means every "multi-project repository" in the world just flat out doesn't work. Especially mine, where the repository contains not only the schematic but also the firmware and a GUI application.I have attached a sample ZIP to this post which exhibits the issue. Extract both subfolders to a blank directoryIf you open "advanced-sample-cmake" from the root, everything worksIf you open "Subfolder" from the root then everything falls apartIrony is that "Subfolder" contains the exactly same files than the other. The "STM32Cube CMake build" extension says "Could not configure code indexing until an active project is set" and stops right there.Note that I can (somewhat) work around this issue by cloning my repository and then opening the subfolder in VS Code:The "git" extension really does not like this, a

Hello,I have a Nucleo-L496ZG-P evaluation board that has a STM32L496ZGT6PU processor installed on.The processor has 2 CAN bus peripherals, and I would like to run an example that uses either of those.The STM32CubeMX has CAN examples, but not for STM32L, just for STM32F family.Could anyone recommend how I can import the CAN examples from the STM32F into the nucleo board.Thanks, D 

H745 startup files are located in "CM7/Core/startup/startup_stm32h745xx_CM7.s" or "CM4/Core/startup/startup_stm32h745xx_CM4.s".However, the build source path for the startup files in the mx-generated.cmake in each core's folder is ". /Startup/startup_stm32h745xx_CM7.s" or ". /Startup/startup_stm32h745xx_CM4.s".Therefore, the cmake file must be changed to build.

Hello,after upgrading from STM32CubeIDE 1.9.0 to 2.0.0 (Eclipse 2024‑09), we encountered a critical issue with Git integration when using SSH and Azure DevOps.In version 1.9.0, Git operations (pull/push) worked correctly because the IDE allowed selecting an external SSH client (e.g., OpenSSH or PuTTY/Pageant). I have been trying to get VS Code working with the latest STM32 VS Code plugins, and not having much luck. Latest plugins installed, on a nice fresh install of Fedora Desktop Linux.I have been using Red Hat/Fedora/CentOS, Ubuntu and versions of Mint and Arch as desktop OSes and development platforms since 1995...That being said, I was frustrated that I couldn't get this piece of the plugin puzzle working. The plugin could not find the Cube MX installation. So, I tried adding a .exe extension to it (yep, on Linux), and lo' and behold, there it was. Cube MX came to life.This tells me the plugins are coded to search for a .exe file extension by default.John

Hi, I'm trying to understand what filters I have to apply in CubeMX to find products that support 2 QUADSPI with independent clock. E.g. h7a3aii6q seems to be such part that allows me to have two independent  QUADSPI and there are parts like e.g. H743XIH6 that have QUADSPI Dual-Bank with two NCS but with only 1 Clock and there are also Parts with OCTOSPI, but they don't seem to have two independent interfaces most of them time.Any chance to make part search easier for me to find products that have features like these two independent QUADSPI?Thx

When using Zephyr, commands like west debug require ST tools (e.g. ST-LINK_gdbserver) to be installed and available on the PATH. I believe this currently requires STM32CubeCLT to be installed. However, I'd like to avoid installing STM32CubeCLT since it's deprecated in favor of the new bundle manager that is installed with the VS Code extension.I'd like to request the ability to install & use the bundle manager by itself (outside of the VS Code environment) to install packages like stlink-gdbserver into a custom location on my machine. The goal would be to add these tools to my path for development. Hi there, im using Nucleo-F446RE , ST HAL and CubeMX, and im learning to configure the clockI use HSE Bypass mode (MCO from the st-link in the nucleo), everything perfect hereIn the RM i found out that, when using HSE BYPASS mode, PH1 (OSC_OU) should be left in HI-Z state What does HI-Z means in STM32 MCUs? does it mean configuring the pin as digital input? or it means configuring the pin as analog input?Or it depends?   When selecting HSE BYPASS MODE the chip image in the .ioc file gets set like this: But if i try to  set PH1 (OSC_OUT) as GPIO a conflict is generated, so, how can i set the state of PH1 as HI-Z?   Also, why does PH1 gets reserved and configured in the chip as OSC_OUT? is this to avoid configuring it as another thing?And finally, what it seems very weird to me, why the clock por GPIOH is enabled when CubeMX generates the code if i cant use PH1 as a normal GPIO? In the H562 CubeMx setting the flash option bytes only allows flash number of sectors up to 7. If you look at the FLASH_EDATA_EraseProgram example in the H5 firmware bundle you will see it sets the number of sectors to 8 before calling FLASH_OB_EDATAConfig function. this function decrements by one before ORing the sector enable bits. Because CubeMx only allows up to seven when it generates code you do not get the full EDATA range. And if you set 1 in cubemx I guess you do not get any??? 

Where can I find the meaning of the returns from connectDfuBootloader? I'm getting -16 back and would like to know what it means.  

I have started a new project using STM32H573. This is using the following:Cube MX 6.16Cube IDE 2.0 - Build: 26820_20251114_1348 (UTC)The project has secure zone enabled. Hello. Please forgive a 'newbie' question. Whilst I am new to STM32 chips I have been programming MCUs for many years which makes this problem even more frustrating.I wrote a program which I then uploaded onto a Bluepill (genuine processor) using CubeIDE v1.16.0 (and later Cube Prog v2.17 as a standalone) and the STLink V2 interface with the most up to date firmware.  The program didn't run so I assumed that it was something that I was doing wrong (it probably still is).  I went back to basics and viewed several 'tutorials' on YouTube.  I then set up a minimal program to flash the onboard LED at PC13.  I left all the settings of the IDE as they came when the IDE was installed.  I set PC13 as a GPIO output and left all the rest of the GPIO settings as they were. I used HAL_GPIO_WritePin to write directly to the pin with HAL_Delay as the delay mechanism.  So four lines of code in total all placed after the /* Infinite loop */ /* USER CODE BEGIN WHILE */ whil
