NUCLEO-WL55JC1 Sleep Mode Current Consumption

Hi,

I am using the NUCLEO-WL55JC1 board and referring to the PWR_STOP2_RTC example to measure current consumption.

I have isolated the ST-LINK section and am powering the board with an external 3.6 V supply for accurate measurement. However, in sleep (STOP2) mode, the measured current consumption is about 1.64 mA, which seems higher than expected.

Please let me know if this is normal for this configuration or if any additional steps are required to further reduce the current consumption.

can you run this firmware example and measure the power consumption?

Hello,

I have run the example firmware (PWR_STOP2_RTC) from the STM32WL SDK as suggested. However, the measured current consumption is still around 1.6 mA in sleep mode. Please find the attached image for reference.

Can you explain how you performed the measurement?
Did you measure it through JP1?
I tried the example, and the consumption decreased from several milliamperes to several microamperes when the device entered stop 2 mode.
The firmware is designed to enter sleep mode five seconds after the program starts and remain in sleep mode for 33 seconds.

Did you ensure to place the jumpers in their correct new positions after removing them from the STLINK position? because you didn't mention where you placed them.
You can refer to this user manual to see how to configure jumpers for each power source.
Also, as an initial test, first run the test while powering the board from STLINK to ensure that the product can enter stop mode.
