Boot STM32MP257f-ev1 from cortex M33

Dear ST Community,

We are working with the STM32MP257F-EV1 evaluation board and using the Yocto Distribution Package for our software stack.

Our intended boot sequence is:

  1. Boot starts from the Cortex-M33 core.

  2. The M33 firmware is responsible for triggering the boot of the Cortex-A35 core.

We would like to confirm:

  • Is this boot flow supported on the STM32MP25x platform?

  • If yes, could you please share the recommended procedure or reference steps to implement this?

Any guidance or official documentation links would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,
Ishan

Hi @Ishan_Padaliya ,

Our software and ecosystem offer to boot from M33, so call M33TDCID is only in Alpha program phase and require to get in touch directly with a local ST office or partner.

In your case our partner and distributor Arrrow will be involved to support you.

Hi

This is very similar to what we want to do with our latest product - though we intend to use a bare metal application on the M33. There is a very short start-time requirement.

We want to leave the A35s in a low power/standby mode as our initial customer does not need their processing capability, but we want to have them available as we have applications to use them that may be of use to other customers.

We also want to boot the Cortex-M0+ under control of the Cortex M33 and then use it for a very low power mode.

@Olivier GALLIEN

Is all of this possible on the device?

I do not quite understand what is in Alpha phase. Is this some toolchain or set of libraries to support this?

I am based in the United Kingdom. Are Arrow the correct distributer and partner here also?

Can you give me an email address for a local contact?

Thanks
