STM32CubeIDE (MCUs)

Hi,still pretty, pretty new to STM32CubeIDE, I'm trying to understand how it works by doing little things. So right now I'm trying to combine both debugger with a terminal both running in STM32CubeIDE.To include terminal in STM32CubeIDE I have followed instruction given here:How to use the STM32CubeIDE terminal to send and receive data (Knowledge Base) So far, running a little test program, I was succesfull doing it at least for very first debug session (i.e. after power cycling the Nucleo-Board). I quit the debug session with the indicated button shown on attached figure belowHowever, when I start a debug session a second time, I get always(!) the same error message (see below)The only way I found so far is to make a hard power cycle to the Nucleo-Board to make it connected in the STM32CubeIDE again.Well, in STM32CubeIDE, because I also installed Tera Term and here everything is working fine. But actually I'm a fan of having thing in one application that can be in one.So my quest

Hello ST Community team.As a user who visits this Community several times a day, I’ve noticed the mixed feedback regarding the full separation between STM32CubeMX and STM32CubeIDE. Personally, I fully support this decision, and I believe it brings a positive direction for the tools. At the same time, I would like to suggest keeping the CubeMX plug-in available as an optional component in future versions of CubeIDE, so that users who prefer the integrated workflow can still enable it if they wish. Hello everyone! My problem is supposed to be a very simple one. I use an interrupt to send messages to my PC, then I send a message back to my STM32. The message is received in good order but I can't print it out. I watched every single YouTube video out there, implemented every single solution (including connecting the SWO to the PB3 pin) - nothing works so far.Can anyone tell me where am I mistaken? My Debug Configuration:Main.c, main.h, and syscalls.c are attached

My laptop died so I scrambled and got another laptop up and running.  I went from the i9 to the i5.  I used to have STM32CubeIDE 1.18 which worked just fine.  I installed it and STM32CubePrg.  It built code just fine. On my "new" laptop I downloaded 2.0 and installed it and STM32CubePrg and STM32CubeMX.  However, now when I try to create a new project I don't see STM32 C/C++ Project.  I see File->New->C/C++ Project or File->New->Project There is no STM32 listed at all.  Did I miss something in the install?  And if I try to build the "hello world" file it asks for "Cross compiler prefix" and "Cross compiler path".  I thought that was supposed to be built into the IDE.  What am I missing? Did I download a brain-dead version of the IDE?  It must be, because every time I try to download a file from ST.com I must "Update profile" and then the download happens.  If I try to download a different version I m

Hello,I had developed my firmare in STM Cube ide 1.5.1 (stm32h7/)Project repo is here: https://github.com/silelis/MustangRadio_develepementVersion/tree/main/02_Firmware/02_STM32/Radio_mainAnd after I have updated IDE to 2.0.0 I have noticed that STM32h7 falls into hard error interrupt.It also appears when I uninstall IDE and installed pure 2.0.0.When I moved back to 1.5.1 hard errot dissapired. Please check this error in IDE.

Is there an option in the STM32CubeIDE settings to reset to factory settings or something like “Default Settings”?I can’t restore the console window to its original state. When I compile the code, the console window used to appear at the bottom, but now it doesn’t show up anymore.

IDE hangs after collapsing ( minimizing window) and expanding (maximizing). Or after Alt + Tab. From time to time."File -> Restart" only helps.I don't know how to fix this. Please, help.Tried to reinstall - the same situation. IDE uses internal Java: java.version=17.0.11As system Java versions, I have v.18, 21, 22  (checked via "update-alternatives --config java" command) Just have an idea to try to switch from internal to system version of Java, but did not find how it can be done. My config:Laptop Dell Vostro 3520Ubuntu 22.04.4  

Hi, So i am using STM32CubeIDE to program my STM32 card, except that when i create my project, it doesnt generate an MX file. So when i try to include the library "stm32fxxx_hal.h", it doesn't work. Why is that? And am I obliged to work with STM32CubeMX in parallel with STM32CubeIDE?PS : I use the latest version of the software, and my card is an stm32f303RET6.Thank you.

OS : Ubuntu 24.04 LinuxTarget MCU: STM32F103CI'm new to using STM32CUBEIDE I have noticed when i created the C/C++ project and chose the target MCU something off maybe that is the issuefind the photo down below.I have added an app directory only app/|- main.c|- inc     |- main.h both files are empty i did not write anything yet  just a main function that returns 0 and when i build it says "Error: Cannot find the specified linker script. Check the linker settings in the build configuration.make: *** [makefile:85: fail-specified-linker-script-missing] Error 2" is there something I should configure? or am i missing something?

I’m working on a small side project that involves validating user-generated words and I keep running into edge cases where legitimate words are flagged as invalid. generated a new cubeIDE project with cubeMX, for my U585I-IOT02A board, the only things I changed are PC1 pin to high level and toolchain/ide to cubeIDE.building gives me this error : /opt/stm32cubeide/plugins/com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.externaltools.gnu-tools-for-stm32.13.3.rel1.linux64_1.0.100.202509120712/tools/bin/../lib/gcc/arm-none-eabi/13.3.1/../../../../arm-none-eabi/bin/ld: read in flex scanner failed no matter what I do or find on internet, I can't get it fixed... I'm on arch linux and installed all stm32 softwares with aur and zip downloaded on the st site if needed.

Sir, I have installed stm32cubeide 2.0.0 which is latest version. I opened cube mx and created a new project and selected new x cube ai package and generated the code, works fine and done successfully.after that i press exit the project, then i open the project but the x cube ai package is not selected in cube mx, and even i saved also why? please help me @Nalle @LMSTM @Balabala 

Hello,Has the integrated support for CubeMX been removed in the new CubeIDE?I just updated to the latest (2.0) and now, when clicking on the ioc file of a project (created with previous version 1.19), CubeMX opens up.The top right corner has also changed.Also all the new project dialogs have changed, and it does not generate an ioc file anymore... Did my update went wrong somehow?

CubeIDE 2.0.0 (and before as well) for MacMacOS 15.7.2 IntelRun your program in debug, forget that the processor isn't stopped, click on the SFR pane, click on any value.BOOM, spinning ball, never returns, have to force quit. Next, it leaves ST-LINK_gdbserver running and unattached, you'll have to find that and kill it or you can't restart and expect to debug again.I haven't seen a program that I had to kill and restart this often since NewtonScript on Windows 95. Grrrrr  

Title edited to correct version number.I have not programmed in the IDE for a while.  But when I created a project, and edited the .ioc file, and told it to save and create the main.c file it did, and opened the main.c file. I am able to create a project, and it lets me go to the MX editor (I am in 1.9.0). I enable a couple of UARTS, Then I save. And it asks if I want to generate code, I say yes. And there is no code at all. There are only two files in the EPS_PDU_STM32L433RCT3 project directory the EPS_PDU_STM32L433RCT3.ioc.projectNone of the subdirectories were created, the main.c was not created. This used to work. I must have fat fingered something to screw it up. Hello All,I am trying to get back into Microcontroller programming by attempting to use the STM32F407 Discovery Kit. But my first difficulties are to get the STM32CubeIDE installed and configured properly and to work. I have downloaded and installed the Windows version of the STM32CubeIDE 2.0.0; and I am running Windows 11; but when creating my first project and selecting the STM32F407 Disc1, the STM32CubeIDE is not displaying the configurable Pinout of the STM32F407 that I am expecting to see as shown in the most Tutorial videos I have seen so far.  Please, help on  how I can configure the STM32CubeIDE correctly in order to program the STM32F407 Discovery Board I am trying to work with.Kindest regardsStarting_Point

I am running Linux Mint And I have had STMCubeIDE 1.7 and 1.9 and just installed 2.0. It gave me an error the first time which I forgiot to write down, but it was in the window that normally lets me edit the .ioc file to assign my pins and activate the peripherals. I looked in the community and someone said unclick CDT in the Available Software Sites. Now it does not even ask to create/edit the .ioc file. I am wondering if things are getting confused because I have 3 versions of the STM32CubeIDE installed. Hello everyone.In a couple of past days I was trying to make the code execution from external PSRAM to work. I managed to load the code into external FLASH and then copy it to PSRAM at boot stage. The code runs nice but can't debug it for some reason. Debugging worked when I was running the code directly from external FLASH but when I introduced copying the data to PSRAM and running it from there I started to get errors. It wont even let me Run the program if I dont exit the debugger.I don't understand how it can't access the memory despite the application running fine. Edit: I found out that if I debug Boot project but add symbols from Application project too I can debug both fine.

I upgraded STM32Cube IDE to 1.12.0, and now when I double-click the IOC file, it just displays a text file, not the processor pin / configuration diagrams, etc.  I tried closing and re-opening the project(s) and closing and re-opening CubeIDE.  No change.

I am trying to toggle an led and in the debugger I am getting the error: "Break at address "XXXXXXX" with no debug information available, or outside of program code "; before the program ends itself. I've sourced the error back to the HAL_Delay, I think the HAL_GetTick is getting stuck in a infinite while loop and not updating I am using the stm32WL30KBV6 and currently only have decoupling capacitors, and VCap hooked up to it. I am using the internal clocks. I am debugging over SWD. I saw a previous post about the possible issue being boot0 being held, but I couldn't find a boot pin for this specific MCU. My timebase source in my IOC file is SysTick. I'm pretty lost right now, so any help is appreciated

2.0 of STMCubeIDE loads but is missing the New Project 'wizard' of 1.15:2.0 only allows a blank project to be created, but missing the graphic of the uP.1.15 allows wizard to run but then fails at the last step with error message something to do with embedded software, no matter what I try it always does the same. Is anyone having any sucess of getting this STMCubeIDE to actually run as its supposed to on a Mac?

I have tried to import example project, in that after selecting example and board then it tried to unzip the required F4 packages(stm32cube_fw_f4*) but 1280 is unzipped successfully but 1283 cant unzip this error remains what to do to solve this?

I have a STM32 project created for STM32H757 which has dual core CPU. The directory structure is look like this:I wanted to build this project using command line in my ubutnu machine. I have tried with this command:$ <INSTALLTION_DIRECTORY>/st/stm32cubeide_1.12.1/stm32cubeide --launcher.suppressErrors -nosplash -application org.eclipse.cdt.managedbuilder.core.headlessbuild -data "./" -build fx/CM7But it shows "WARNING: No Project matched "fx/CM7". Skipping..."I have tried running it from root of the project directory like "<REPO_PATH>/sca_repo/fx_redesign/fx", also tried it running from inside the fx directory too like "<REPO_PATH>/sca_repo/fx_redesign/fx/CM7/". But output does not changed, I can not figure out what I am missing here, can anyone help me ?
