CubeMX does not run - just shows start screen, then stops

CubeMX shows the light blue start screen, and stops without any message!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's not much information.

On a proper OS, you could start CubeMX from a console and watch for error messages.

And since it is Eclipse-based, the usual log files are created in a subdirectory.
Check those for further information.
