Hey, I want to open a project from my peer, but i cant because the version for STMCubeMX with which it was generated is newer then mine

I then do that and 'Check for Updates', which doesn't work and gives me an error.

When i try to manually access the website, it doesn't work. I really don't understand what chatgpt.com has to do with any of this either. I can't seem to find any other post mentioning this, but I apologies if I'm wrong.

Thanks for the help!

Rather than try to update, I would suggest a new install.

You don't have to uninstall the old one(s) before installing a new one - they can be installed & used side-by-side.

(you'll need a separate workspace per version)

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.

The website was the Eclipse site, but it was best just to wipe the install and get a new one. No point trying to save it.

If you want to update STM32CubeIDE, you can install a new version from here:

STM32CubeIDE | Software - STMicroelectronics

The download seems to be down at the moment when I try to download after logging in. You can try downloading as a guest. If that doesn't work, you'll have to wait for ST to feed the gerbils that power their web servers. They seem to be down quite a lot.

The update from within STM32CubeIDE has always been flaky.
