I want to read and write data by serial connection.For test, I import samples "SPC58ECxx_RLA SERIAL Test Application for Discovery" from application library.In my understanding, the "main.c" function write "Hello World!" by serial connection.my environmentRS232 connection (PC to SPC58EC_DISP)puttyWhen I flash the code to my board, the putty write "cRK".I cannot understand why my pc receive "cRK".I think my pc receive the "Hello World".please help!!

Hi,I am using:Processor: SPC58NE84C3Compiler: FreeGCCWe have a working software setup running with optimization level "O0". However, when we enable "O1", we encounter issues in certain states where it triggers the the Machine Check Interrupt (offset 0x10), causing my callback function, void ivor1_callback(uint32_t Xsrr0, uint32_t Xsrr1), to be called.I would like to further investigate the source of the Machine Check Interrupt. According to the datasheet, I should check the MSR and MSCR registers.In my case, both registers hold the value 0x00000000.Could someone help me identify the source of the Machine Check Interrupt?Best regards,Felix 

I am using sample example from SPC58NN84E7, I could see there is common ISR function for all the modules, of course with different vector number, But i am not able to see how this   #define IRQ_HANDLER(id) void id(void) function address is registered to the respective interrupts.  could some one help me ? Thanks in advance

I have successfully established a connection between SPC584B and UDE STK2 as shown below: Mo 07.10.2024 14:58:50.425, Success, Core2, UDEDebugServer, Connection to SPC584B70 target established: PowerPC Target, JTAG-ID: [32bit JTAG ID] In the UDE STK menu, under Config -> Target interface... -> xPC56x/xPC57 Options, when I changed the 256-bit password for Censorship unlocking from the default value to all 0xFF, I was still able to connect via JTAG. Therefore, I believe that the JTAG password lock is not activated.According to the RM0449 Reference Manual, it seems that I need to set the DBL bit of LOCK3_PGn to 1 to enable the JTAG password lock. However, I do not know the address of LOCK3_PGn. Also, how can I modify the DBL bit of LOCK3_PGn?

Hi, I'm using the SPC58NN84E7 controller for CAN communication. I have referred the this application note that has a similar implementation for SPC58ECx controller. I have configured M_CAN_2_SUB_0 hardware channel for CAN communication with a baudrate of 500kbps.After I write to the TX buffers i.e M_CAN_2_SUB_0_TX_BUFFER_0_T0, T2, T3 & T4, a bit to the corresponding TX_BAR (Buffer Add Request Register) is set. Later in the M_CAN_2_SUB_0_TXBRP (Tx Buffer Request pending register), the corresponding buffer bit is set.Currently I have set only one data byte (0x55) to TX over CAN.The transmission status stays in pending throughout multiple iterations : The corresponding bits in the TXBTO(TX buffer transmission occurred register) are never set. I have configured Dedicated TX mode.What configurations am I missing here?

Hello All, I am working on data storage on external flash memory, so for my application we are using SPC582Bxx MCU and W25QXX as external flash to store audio files into it. I have configured the below SPI pins to access the flash memory device, I have referred the sample DSPI code, with reference this sample code, i made the required changes to access the flash device. But unfortunately, I am unable to get data from the device. I am trying to read manufacture data of flash device first then writing operation. Configuration, as per the pin mapping above, we get the DSPI3 configuration. I am attaching the simple code that written to access the flash device. I am struggling to find the way to access, please if anyone know about the configuration to access device please do share the steps in details. I am also attaching the datasheet of flash device. Kindly let me know, how to access the DSPI3 in auto devkit studio.Thank you in advance, Regards,Rohit R

Hello ST Community, I am currently working with the SPC58NN84E7 controller and using the AUTOSAR SPC58NN MCAL version 4.0.3.I am in the process of configuring the PWM module for our project, which requires both the GTM (for clocking the counter) and the DTM (for dead time functionality).However, I have noticed that the AUTOSAR SPC58NN MCAL version 4.0.3 does not provide  DTM module to implement dead time functionality. Could anyone provide guidance on how to handle this limitation? Hello everyone,I’m currently working on a project using the SPC584B70E1 chip and SPC5Studio as my development environment. However, I’ve run into an issue where the “Execute” and “Debug” buttons are grayed out, and I’m not sure how to proceed. After searching online, I found information about the SPC5-UDESTK, which seems to be a USB/JTAG debugger for SPC5 MCUs. I have a few questions about this:Is it absolutely necessary to purchase the SPC5-UDESTK to enable debugging, or is it possible to use a standard ST-Link for debugging with SPC5Studio?If I do need to purchase the SPC5-UDESTK, will I also need to buy any additional debugging software, or is it included?Are there any free options available for debugging? If using ST-Link is an option, could someone explain how I can set it up for debugging in SPC5Studio?I would really appreciate any advice or guidance on this matter. Thank you so much for your help!

Hello,  I currently have SPC560P chip which I am able to program using SPC5 Studio and Debug using SPC5-UDESTK. The compiler that I have currently selected is "FreeGCC with VLE Support" by going to the Application Configuration -> SPC560Pxx Platform Component RLA -> Build Settings.I see the other options in the dropdown of Compiler Variant such as Hightech and GreenHills. The issue that I am currently facing is that I am modifying only a part of the existing code and I need to use another compiler when merging with the old code. So I was wondering if I can change the compiler to "mwcceppc" from "FreeGCC with VLE Support"  in SPC5 Studio ? If Yes, how ? I have added the path to "mwcceppc" in the SPC5 Studio -> Windows -> Preferences -> C/C++ -> Build -> Environment. And also the same in Project Properties. But I believe the settings in Configuration.xml will override these settings ?Let me know if this is a possibility or not.

Hi ST Team, MCU is SPC584B70E1. CAN0 is used as ISR-Rx normally. I want to choose "CAN FIFO 0 Rx New message Interrupt" as Wake-up Source. In SPC5 Studio, I configurated on WKPU Configuration setting , I selected INT 0 as WakeUp Source and in the CAN setting FIFO is ENABLE vs. Without wkpu_lld_start() and STOP0 Mode, CAN works expectedly. With Filtered IDs ISR_Rx_Buffer_Callback() executes, with the specific (Wake-Up message) packet FIFO_Rx_Callback() executes. But together with wake-up configuration does not works.  Is it possible to use "CAN FIFO 0 Rx New message Interrupt" as Wake-up Source??If it is ,how? On SPC5 IDE, How to configurate WKPU settings?

Hi,I am using the SPC564B74 to measure the frequency of a square wave signal. The problem is that I have a some artifact measurements that cause problems on my application. A few times per minute, the measured frequency randomly drops to zero or an intermediate value and I don't understand the root cause. I made measurements and it is software related. I am using the eMIOS module in MCB mode. The signal is the output of a variable reluctance sensor measuring a motor RPM, ranging from  4 Hz to 8000 Hz.The SPC564 is clocked with a 40 MHz cristal. (FXOSC 40MHz → PLL 120MHz → Peripheral Set 3 Prescaler = 2 → Peripheral Set 3 = 60 MHz (ADC0, ADC1, eMIOS0, eMIOS1)eMIOS0 prescaler = 15 → eMIOS0 CLK = 4MHz For good precision in low and high frequencies, I am measuring 16 periods (32 edges) of the input signal. The measured signal is mapped to PA[1] and I am using eMIOS0 channel 1 as MCB_UP. Hi!When I trigger the built-in LVD self-test for the Power Management Unit by writing PMUCTRL.CTRL.B.SILHT = 1, the PMUCTRL_FAULT register immediately indicates a low voltage detector fault and the MCU goes into SAFE mode. If I trigger the HVD test by writing PMUCTRL.CTRL.B.SILHT = 2, then it indicates a high voltage detector fault. However, when sampling ADC channel 10 (VREG_1.2V) which is the voltage measured in these self-tests (if I understand correctly), then it says exactly 1.2 volts. So it appears the PMU is giving a false positive and reacting even while the voltage is OK. What could be the cause of this? At first I thought that the chip was just broken. But this strange behavior appears on three different chips that I have tried on, so it's not just one individual bad unit. Then I thought this might be a general error in the SPC56 chip. But the reference manual errata document does not mention this as a known design flaw. My last idea was that there mi

There a sheet called "IO Muxing Table" where there are several possible functions for different pins on the SR5E1x series. One of the columns "Special mapping" has HSM UART and HSM DO functions listed for ports PA[6] and PA[7].I've looked in the datasheet or reference manual (RM0483) but not found the info I need. Where can I look to find an explanation of what that pin function does/how it works?Is it a special status for UART2 (listed as another alternate function for those ports) if used on those pins or an entirely different function?

I am developing a safety application on the SPC56EL60L3 platform. The reference manual RM0032 §43.1.3 outlines the steps for verifying the test results of the STCU (Self-test control unit). As I understand it, I first have to check the actual test status and then I should perform a number of extra checks using the STCU_LBS, STCU_LBE (etc) registers to see whether the test results are reliable. I have two questions regarding this. First, I am unable to find a clear instruction on how to actually do the first step, i.e. see the status of the test result. I assume I can do it by reading the FCCU status flags CF[20] and NCF[12], but that is not explicitly stated in the STCU chapter.
