GNSS positioning

Hi,I just designed a pcb with LIV3F module. I tried to follow layout instructions but I'm not RF expert. I can read through the USART bus but every values (GPGGA, GPVTG, etc.) are set to 0, as if there is no input RF signal. Herein below schematic design and my Eagle files, hope someone could point out what mistake I did?  

Thanks for the info and the code snippets in this thread. However, they aren’t as good as proper documentation. Hello all,   I have a GNSS1A1 board with the LIV3F module. My problem is, in teseo suite my gps location shows up accurately, however when I look at the messages it is clear to me my location in those messages are far away from me.How is this possible? I am trying to make a software that interprets the data and my location in there shows up completely flawed. Even tried adding a triangulating function.Difference:0.2 degrees lateral0.18 degrees longitudal

Hi I have connected the GNSS1A1 board and F446ZE boards. When I run the FW (Virtual Com Port) that I set up through STM32CUBE IDE (X-CUBE-GNSS) and start the program, when it enters MX_GNSS_Process() the gnssMsg struct's buffer pointer is pointing at reserved 0x2002 0000 address. Then I tried generating the code for FW Updater example program, the Teseo Suit Can not do anything. It stops at Syncing, or if I try to force the update, at around 80% it freezes and recommends recovery mode. That doesn't work either. Please help. I tried everything I2C or UART port but it looks like nothing is helping. The GetPos example is running fine, however gets no data. @Tesla DeLorean maybe you know something. :)

Hi, I bought a TESEO VIC3DA from MIKROE some time ago. I am addressing it via UART. I am receiving RX data, but it is always the same. The same location is always returned. I can also see in the frame that I have 0 satellites. However, I had the hardware near the window. But no new data is being delivered, and no new satellites are being detected.

Hi,We are looking at the schematics of the EVB-VIC3DA (https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/evb-vic3da.html#cad-resources) and it looks like that the board could be powered at 1.8V but according to the datasheet the min recommended voltage is 2.97 volts. Why is there a 1.8V option for the eval board? Thanks. 

Hi, We're attempting to update the LIV4F firmware via the UART interface from an embedded device, however, we're unable to replicate the steps documented in UM3009.Our code works up until the the baud rate configuration step in Figure 2, after which communication from the unit fails. Is there any additional documentation on the LIV4 firmware protocol or reference code? We found an example for the LIV3F but the process in the code differs substantially from what's in the LIV3F manual.We also noted that the LIV4 module only returns the code 0x98 0x83, rather than the TESEO_FLASHER_SYNC code 0x83984073 documented in the manual. We do receive the ACK code after the DEVICE_START_COMMUNICATION code. Not sure if this is an expected change or if it is an indication that something is wrong. I also found Quectel documentation for what appears to be the LIV3 upgrade process in the example code, and it show the baud rate being set in the binary image options data block.   Hello, I am currently working with the NUCLEO GNSS2A1 extension on the NUCLEO-L010RB demonstration board, and I am trying to retrieve data from the gyroscope and accelerometer. According to the TESEO VIC3DA module documentation, there are two modes of dead reckoning: DRAW Mode: Designed for automotive applications, it requires a speed signal. DRUM Mode: Suitable for industrial applications, which corresponds to my use case. Based on my research, the gyroscope and accelerometer data should be transmitted via the following messages: $PSTMDRSENMSG,30 and $PSTMDRSENMSG,31. However, I never receive these messages. When I send them, I only receive back the same thing that I sent. My current configuration: I have enabled the messages dedicated to dead reckoning with the following commands:     $PSTMCFGMSGL,0,1,0,FFFFFFFF$PSTMCFGMSGL,1,1,0,FFFFFFFF$PSTMCFGMSGL,2,1,0,FFFFFFFF I have disabled DRAW mode:     $PSTMSETPAR,1667,FFFFFFFF,2 Here is the IMU configuratio

Hi,The BOM and almost all pictures of X-STM32MP-GNSS2 include a Taoglas antenna.Could you verify if an antenna is actually included or not, if I order an X-STM32MP-GNSS2?

What is the actual backup input supply voltage range for Teseo LIV4F receivers? Datasheet says that it is 3-3.63V which is really high and doesn't make sense to add any Lithium battery as a backup supply because it will very quickly drop below 3V at the beginning of operation (CR2032/CR1220). But X-NUCLEO-LIV4A1 (https://www.st.com/resource/en/data_brief/x-nucleo-liv4a1.pdf) has a place for CR2032 battery socket and even diode D2 in series on which will be some extra voltage drop. So the question is it a mistake in board design or the actual minimum VBAT voltage is less than it's written in the datasheet? In the second case, it's a drawback of these receivers, at least for my use-case.

Hi, i started a project to get the position using a x-nucleo-gnss2a1 based on Teseo-VIC3DA and st board F446RE.I used STM32Cube mx to generate the code with the expansion software package  X-CUBE-GNSS1 for the GetPos Application.Following the instructions in the documentation available on st.com and configuring properly the hardware setup of the gnss2a1 board, i get incorrect coordinates (how you can see in the photos) respecting to my position in Turin. In the attached files you can find the output of the generated code.I have no idea how to fix, thanks for the attention.

Hello!Can you please help with the differences between Teseo-LIV3FL and Teseo-LIV3F modules, does LIV3FL have all the features of LIV3F plus low power, are there any reasons why to prefer LIV3F over LIV3FL nowadays, or it is recommended to always use LIV3FL instead of LIV3F for new design?Thanks.

Hello!Is external antenna included with X-NUCLEO-GNSS1A1 board (or X-NUCLEO-GNSS2A1) or it should be purchased separately? GNSS expansion board based on Teseo-LIV3F module for STM32 Nucleo Data brief does not mention external antenna, but Getting started with the X-CUBE-GNSS1 global navigation satellite system software expansion for STM32Cube does mention it: "The GPS/GLONASS/Beidou antenna included with the X-NUCLEO-GNSS1A1 or X-NUCLEO-GNSS2A1 expansion board must be connected to the antenna connector on the expansion board. "Another related question is should this external antenna be passive or active or both variants are suitable?Thanks. 

Hello,I am working with a LIV4F, and I am trying to configure the fix rate at 10hz like so:$PSTMSETPAR,1130,0x00,0$PSTMSETPAR,1303,0.1,0$PSTMSAVEPAR$PSTMSRRThe LIV4F responds with:$$PSTMSETPAROK,1130*30$$PSTMSETPAROK,1303*32$$PSTMSAVEPAROK*5CAll appears to be good. However, when analyzing the data, the update rate is much slower than 10hz, fluctuating between 3.5hz and 5hz. I can turn down the fix rate, and I get the expected results, but anything above 5hz does not work as expected.

I installed the Teseo-VIC3DA Evaluation Kit to my car and drove for about half an hour. The "sr" field of PSTMDR2 showed "system ready". Then I disconnected the antenna to test the DR mode. The accuracy of the DR seemed not good (the error was around 50 to 100 meters, and sometimes even worse). What is the typical accuracy of DR mode? Do you have a video that demonstrate the DR performance?

I have recently procured a X-NUCLEO-GNSS1A1 on its own. I would simply like to use the LIV3F to test the LNA/SAW filtering along with different antennas as well. I am able to connect the LIV3F to Teseo Suite via FTDI -> UART. I can see all of the satellites and NMEA data being streamed by the receiver, but I am unable to change any settings. I need to update a couple of settings, but the LIV3F is not detected, and it is shown in Teseo Suite as a 'generic' device, instead of a LIV3F, or LIV3FL, etc.  Any assistance would be much appreciated, I feel that I've exhausted every resource I have trying to change the settings. fwiw, I have a couple of custom PCBs with LIV3Fs installed on them, and I do not have this issue with those boards. Only the LIV3F on the X-NUCLEO-GNSS1A1.
