Hello everyone,I am currently developing an IMU array application using the ASM330LHHXG1 sensor and am trying to streamline my interrupt management. This sensor has two interrupt pins, and I am contemplating whether to use both pins or just one. My primary concern is with the Data Ready (DRDY) signal, which indicates when new data from both the accelerometer and gyroscope are available.Does anyone know if the DRDY signal from this sensor is synchronized for both accelerometer and gyroscope data? In other words, does one DRDY signal mean that both sets of data are ready to be read simultaneously? Additionally, I’m considering whether to assign each sensor type (gyroscope and accelerometer) to a separate interrupt pin or to use one pin for both.Could using two separate interrupts improve performance in any way, or would it be overkill for standard motion detection and tracking applications?Any insights or experiences shared would be greatly appreciated!Thank you in advance!

Hi, I had a query regarding the VL53L0X TOF sensor. Is it possible to block the laser on the board and use an off board laser of same wavelength and get readings from TOF sensor? such as intensity readings only?   

I recently bought the STEVAL-MKI245KA, consisting of an ad hoc PCB mounting the ISM330BX 6-axis IMU, which is connected through flat cable to a generic adapter board (STEVAL-MKIGI06A). I am trying to enable I2C commincation between the adapter board and an Arduino Mega, however, even after I connect the pins according to the datasheet of the components, when I run an I2C scanner on the Arduino, there are no devices detected. Here are my pin connections:  Adapter BoardArduino1VDD3.3V2GNDGND3SCLSCL4SDASDA5CS - VDDIO 6SDO3.3VThe adapter board is mounted on a DIL 24 pin socket, which is then placed on a breadboard.What am I doing wrong? I want to read and use the IMU readings, any suggestions on how I can do this any other way?

Hi All, We are using an Activity Monitor (LSM6DSOX) interfaced via I2C with the ATSAMD51J20A microcontroller. We have configured the device for single tap and double tap detection using the AN5272 configuration. We tested each configuration individually, and they are working fine. However, when we integrate both single and double tap detection, tapping the device twice triggers both the single tap and double tap interrupts. Could you please let us know if there's anything we missed in the configuration? Thanks and Regards GD  

I recently purchased the STEVAL-MKI109V3 motherboard and the STEVAL-MKI217V1 adapter board. After some setup, I managed to get the Uni GUI to work. However, I'm struggling to understand how to obtain real-time data from the system for further processing, such as calculating absolute orientation angles.My ultimate goal is to utilize the IMU sensor on the adapter board along with the sensor fusion software provided by the motherboard. I aim to integrate both components into a device I am designing, which will be powered by the nRF52840 microcontroller.I would greatly appreciate any guidance or resources that could help me achieve real-time data acquisition and leverage the full potential of the IMU sensor and sensor fusion software in my project.

I am looking to build a visual model of the human cochlea and was hoping to use the Adruino Nano 33 Sense which has a MP34DT06J microphone integrated.  I can't find the frequency range in the documentation, but I am not an electrical engineer--so maybe it's there, but I don't understand the units being displayed.  Ideally I would be able to pickup the full human hearing range (12hz to 28khz) so I can visualize this.  I am not as concerned about accuracy since I will only be mapping this to 160 leds in a spiral (the shape of the cochlea).    Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Dear ST support,We are planning to replace the VL53L1X with the VL53L8CX. One difference we noticed is that the interrupt line on the VL53L8CX is now a ~100us pulse compared to the VL53L1X where it was active until the interrupt was cleared by writing a register on the sensor.We are using many sensors in our system that share a bus. To simplify routing we use an external GPIO expander which signals the processor in case any sensor set its INT line. Unfortunately this GPIO expander has a limitation which makes it impossible to detect pulsed interrupts from multiple devices if they follow each other in quick succession. So we came up with a couple of options:1. Change the behavior of the VL53L8CX sensor to only clear the INT line upon a command.2. Poll each sensor once we saw an interrupt from the GPIO expander.3. Do HW modifications on our board to help with this issue (e.g. use another GPIO expander).If possible we would like to avoid options 2 because this will degrade the perfor

I tried to set up a project and to do the calibration of the sensor IIS2MDC on my B-U585I-IOT02A Board I want to use MotionMCNow the floating-point-ABI ist set to Hardware implementation and the Middleware used is the MotionMC Library MotionMC_CM33F_wc32_ot_hard.a But when I use the function MotionMC_Initialize(sampletime, enable) it ends up in an infinite loop. What solutions could I try to solve this?

Hello, We are seeking a development board that has a compact IMU sensor (maximum dimension: 4mm) that includes an accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer, along with firmware for embedded sensor fusion. Do you have any recommendations for us? We have used a variety of boards containing IMU sensors from different vendors, but we have not succeeded in obtaining stable yaw angle data without drift. If there is a board with a compact sensor that has all three sensing modalities and even an integrated sensor fusion firmware, that would be best I think.  Based on inputs from a ST support rep, I looked up STEVAL-MKI245KA evaluation board containing the ISM330BX IMU but, it does not seem to have a magnetometer. I am not sure if this IMU is still able to provide accurate pitch, roll, and yaw data in spite of the absence of a magnetometer. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance,Satish 

Hello Everyone!!!I am using STM32F401CBU6 controller along with 2 sensors ie., (ISM330DLC & ISM303DAC) in my project. I have included motionfx library and getting Roll, Pitch, Yaw and Heading, but the heading is not getting calibrated and values are also changing continuously. i am using datalog fusion latest updated example code from X-cube mems1 with reference to UM2220.I have tried to to rotate the  sensor in all the possible directions to get it calibrate but it is not at all getting calibrated.Here is the data that i have logged, find the attached.@Petr S  or anyone please have a look and help me out!!!!regards,ANIL.

I want to use the L3GD20 gyroscope on my development board. But I didn't understand what I should do and I couldn't find an example on the internet. I know it communicates via SPI, but I could not send or read data. Can you please help me in detail?

Hello Everyone!I am using ISM303DAC sensor in my project and facing an issue with Pitch value.  I have used MotionMC library and  calibrated the Magnetometer for heading. and also it got calibrated. As MotionEC_Run() function output consists of Euler angles i have printed those(roll, pitch) angles too...then i have observed one thing that if there a change in only roll axis then Pitch axis is not getting effected. but if pitch axis is changing then roll axis angles are also getting changed.                                 Movement only over Roll Axis ------ Pitch Angle is not changing and constant --->which is OK.                               Movement only over Pitch Axis------ Roll Angle is getting changed and it shot ---->Not OK as there is no any change in Roll axis it has to be constant right. Hi, it seems there is a typo in AN5755 at page 8 ch.4.2 it says: "Moreover, Qvar data can be stored in FIFO (by setting the QVAR_BATCH_EN bit to 1 in the COUNTER_BDR_REG1 (0Bh) register)". This statement doesn't apply to LSM6DSV16X, because it is not possible to redirect QVAR data out to FIFO. It applies only to LSM6DSV16BX at ch4.3.regards

Hi,I am using VL53L4CX sensors with a custom-made board which uses the STMH755ZI. I am using the library provided by STM to get the sensor measurements.Initially, my tests were done using a Teensy 4.0. At that point, I noticed that a single VL53L4CX sensor takes around 3ms to get data through I2C when using the VL53L4CX library. However, when I switched to the VL54L4CD library, it was much faster, taking around 0.5ms per sensor. This includes all the data that the sensor provides.After that, I moved to the STMH755ZI. Since this is an STM chip, I thought it might be more compatible and faster compared to the Teensy, as the TOF sensor is also made by STM. Contrary to my expectations, the time it takes to read one sensor significantly increased. Using the VL53L4CX library, it takes around 10-11ms to read data for a single sensor. Then I tried the VL53L4CD library and was able to reduce the time to 1ms per sensor.I am working on a project with strict time constraints, so I commented out re

Does anyone know if the VL53L8CX SATEL can be used with an Arduino board (just for testing)? Or ESP32? I've tried the basic wiring I have done for other breakouts, but it doesn't work. If so, please share how it should be wired. Also, I have used very similar code on 1CB, 1CX, and the 4CX. Anyone know if that would work for the L8?

Hello everyone,I want to connect my pressure sensor (ilps28qsw) and have written the code in C and using I2C. If I use the example code as in the following link, and do nothing else, it works. For example, if I pull the variables (see below) out of this function and make them usable outside of the function (ilps28qsw_read_data_polling()) or want to execute other functions before or after this code, I get an error.I cannot understand this behavior. I am currently working on a project involving the SensorTile.Box and am seeking assistance with utilizing its gyroscope and accelerometer sensors to determine location in the absence of GPS signals. Specifically, I am interested in processing the sensor data on a PC, similar to how data is managed in the ST BLE Sensor App on mobile devices.Could you please provide guidance on the following:Data Monitoring: How can I monitor sensor data from SensorTile.Box on a PC? I am using LSM6DSOX for my project. As far as I understand, meta-classifiers need to be separate for each function (for my project). But I cannot separate two_hands_free and pushing_chart functions. I think this would pose a problem for machine learning. Is this really the case? Will this cause a problem? What should I do to separate these two? And also how is the meta-classifier determined? Should I collect more data to separate these two?
