When running the single shot with offset cancellation mode we will occasionally get the following measurements for the magnetometer:x = -1y = 0 z = -1 temp = -1 This causes issues for us as we are manually averaging the two single shot values together to get the true temperature compensated magnetic values. We have seen this on both our PCBAs as well as the STEVAL-MK185 boards connected directly into our system. Mainly we want to know where this message is coming from and how to prevent it. Thank you.

I get the readings from ax,ay and az(plotted as well).Can the orientation of the lis2dw12 chip be derived from the DC levels? If so - how? What is the purpose of 6D orientation functionality and the accuracy of it?

Hi,i was trying to set up the pedometer and timestamp functionality for the FIFO.I was fallowing the instructions on page 102 (chapter 9.1) of the documentation for the setup (high timestamp resolution).It is working on a FIFO ODR of 104Hz. But if i go higher with the ODR, I do get timestamp duplicates in the FIFO buffer.So the first 3 readings are at 2 for the timestamp. Are there any limitations on the use of the fifo timestamp?The results seem to be valid for 104Hz. With a FIFO ODR of 208Hz, e. g. I should get a timestamp counter difference of round about 192LSB (=192*25μs=4.8ms). Am I missing something?Thank you very much

I have successfully built AlgoBuilder-based Firmware for my Target, including using some of the ISPU based examples from the x-cube-ispu GitHub:NUCLEO-L476RG + X-NUCLEO-IKS02A1 + ISM330ISWe are hoping to replace an old accelerometer and separate temperature sensor chip in our design with the very capable ISM330IS. I'm evaluating it for basic accelerometer, gyro, and temperature sensor use as well as the 6-axis fusion (quaternion outputs) If I add the "Temperature" block to my SensorHub, I get the error:Error: Block "Temperature [°C]" requires capability "TemperatureSensor" but current build target does not have this capability!In my own code, I expect I can just read from OUT_TEMP_L (20h), OUT_TEMP_H (21h) or ISPU_TEMP_L (68A4h), ISPU_TEMP_H (68A5h).Just curious how to do this directly from AlgoBuilder

I'm using an LSM303AGR to create a compass using the MotionEC library for calculating quaternions.Since the ODR of the magnetometer inside the LSM303AGR is 20Hz while the ODR of the accelerometer is 25Hz with which frequency and with which data is it better to call the MotionEC_Run function?

Hello everyone!!!!I am using Motion_FX (9 axis) library in my application and receiving the values of Yaw, Pitch, Roll and Heading but these values, which i am receiving are not constant even if i kept the sensor in a fixed position values are varying with +/- 5deg for example if we consider heading values and rotate the sensor board to 90deg and kept it fixed for that position then i am receiving values like 89.78, 87.82, 86.43, 90.12, 90.12., 91.56, 93.75 like that...i am not getting a fixed value of 90 deg...how can i get fixed values...Awaiting for your valuable reply,Thank you!

Hi, I use LSM9DS1 in my project. I also use MotionMC and MotionFX libraries to calibrate the magnetometer and fuse data respectively and I have a following problem regarding the yaw output. The roll and pitch work flawlesly but the yaw output reading gets stuck - it does not respond to any movement unless I apply some amount of acceleration to the board. Slight tapping usually forces the yaw to update to somewhat correct orientation. What can I do about it? I first perform mag calibration until the CalQuality is equal to MMC_CALQSTATUSGOOD. Then I apply the hard bias as well as rotation matrix before updating the Kalman filter from the MotionFX lib. The ACC/Gyr ODR is 119Hz, magnetometer 80Hz. I also perform mag calibration once every few samples online. I also found out the calibration does not work when the mag ODR is bigger than 80 Hz for some reason - the CalQuality is always MMC_CALQSTATUSUNKNOWN.

Hey There, iam using a LIS2DW12 on a STEVAL-MKI179V1 eval board :https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/steval-mki179v1.html#overviewhttps://www.st.com/en/mems-and-sensors/lis2dw12.html#overviewThe Datasheet says that it has 50nA standbycurrent and 1-5 uA in oparation.Iam using the chip in single_data_conversion mode with softwaretrigger Iam triggering a measurement, reading the values over i2c and the chip goes to standby after that.The Chip offers 2 Powerpins VDD and VDD_IO .VDD has a consumption around 50-60nA in standby but VDD_IO has a current of 300-400 uA. The voltage is 3.3V.Any ideas where that high current is coming from?iam using SCL,SDA for i2c transmission, pin2 (CS) is pulled to VDD (activates i2c) and pin3 (sa0) is connected to GND (sets i2c adress)thank you!

 Hello.I had to interface an IR sensor for object detection and distance measurement but I'm using a normal IR transmitter and receiver and there's a lot of interference due to sunlight. So I want to pulse the IR transmitter and subtract the readings when it is on and off and remove that constant value so I'll be able to get the normal distance. So I thought that my above circuit will work and I will be using a timer function to pulse the IR transmitter but where I will I connect the timer port to? Because 5V is the input and the other terminal is ground. Please help. I thought instead of 5V if I connect it to the timer output but I'm afraid it'll be unable to drive the IR transmitter.

For VL53L5CX: what does "ResultsData->distance_mm[ZoneNum]" exactly mean? Is it the distance of the object in the zone from the sensor in a straight line or is it the distance of the vertical plane in which the object is located from the sensor, when I place the sensor directly against a wall, the distance shown is greater in the middle zone and less in the surrounding zones? How to convert the straight line distance from the sensor to the object in the zone?

I am using STS35 DIS and Nucleo-WB55RG board and wants to know how to get temperature readings from the sensor. I am using STM32CubeIDE for programming. It would be helpful for my learning and proceed with my project. if you share some example coding for this.

For example, placing the chip flat on the table, I would expect to read -1G in the Z-axis.Instead, I am seeing +1G. Flipping the chip over shows a reading of -1GHave I configured the registers improperly? Or am I misunderstanding the underlying physics?Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, I use a LSM6DSOX chip to collect data from both accelerometer and gyroscope. I used the integrated FIFO feature, with the following configurations：Accelerometer/gyroscope batch ODR = 104HzFIFO mode is Continuous modeInterrupt on INT2 is routed, triggered by FIFO full eventThe codes follow the ST official repository: STMems_Standard_C_drivers/lsm6dsox_fifo.c at master · STMicroelectronics/STMems_Standard_C_drivers (github.com) .​Different from the official doc based on polling, we enable hardware interrupt that is triggered every time the FIFO buffer is full. Whenever the MCU receives such an interrupt, it will read the number of remaining samples in the buffer (denoted by num) and retrieve them one by one orderly. ​Ideally, num should always be 510 as the size of FIFO buffer equipped by LSM6DSOX is 512 samples. However, we find that num can be a bit random, sometimes being 510 while in other cases it can be 318, 198, etc. Please see the below figure that shows our serial port

Using the pins on the underside that normally dock into the development board, to connect an external mic to the pins in order to get better recording?

I need to make some modifications to the FP-SNS-ALLMEMS1 firmware for BlueCoin, but when compiling the project using STM32CubeIDE 1.9.0, the resulting firmware only works partially for getting streaming audio over BLE (BlueVoice in mobile app). I only get audio data when Beamforming is enabled in the app. With beamforming disabled the firmware just sends a flat line (all zeros). The binary file provided in the package does work correctly with or without beamforming, but when compiling the code under STM32CubeIDE, it only gets audio out with beamforming on.I'm also unable to produce a bin file that works at all (I can only get semi-working firmware by download/debug within the IDE). There is an included batch file and shell script, but these require a .bin file to already exist, but the .bin file output is not enabled in the project settings. I have successfully designed a product which uses ISM330DHCX. However this unit only allows for a maximum of +/- 4000 dps, and within the application of the product, the gyro can saturate at high speeds.Are there any plans on releasing a product that can measure +/- 8000 dps? This range would cover what I need.Thank you.

Hi, I spend a lot of days trying to undestanding Microphones_streaming from X-CUBE-MEMSMIC1. That is very complex example and brillant at the same time. I want to extract the part for usb audio in streaming (device to pc), but it is a little crazy. it is important for me obtain a basic project for sending a randowm buffer. Then I want to create a support pack for ioc. Was some one able to generate a functional project only with this part? I ak for help to support but i can not be able to make with these indications.
