ST25 NFC/RFID tags and readers

HiI download the newest STSW-ST25RFAL 4.0.0 and try to update my project from STSW-ST25RFAL 3.0.0. In rfal_nfc.c is a new function platformTimerGetRemaining( ) used.I can't find a sample implementation because STSW-ST25R_1.7.0 is still with 3.0.0.Where can I get  an updated timer.h, timer.c?

 Hi everyone,I am working with the STEVAL-25R200SA evaluation board using the ST25R200 GUI software, and everything is functioning correctly.However, I would like to develop my own software instead.Using X-CUBE-NFC10 Middleware:Can I use the X-CUBE-NFC10 middleware to read and write NFC tags with this board?I attempted to generate the necessary files, but the generator is not working properly. Specifically, the file "nfc_conf.h" is not being generated as expected, causing errors.Understanding the Existing Firmware:I have access to the firmware code for the STEVAL-25R200SA, but it is quite complex.I am unsure which parts of the code are essential and which can be ignored.Could someone guide me on how to approach this or point me to relevant documentation?i don't need to use uart for example.Any help would be greatly appreciated!Thanks!

Hi,I'm trying to get the FTM examples from the STSW-ST25R-LIB to work on a ST25R3916.I am using the following hardware:-Mikroe NFC 4 Click Board with a ST25R3916-STEVAL-25R3916B (I only use the reader/antenna board STEVAL-D25R3916B without the Mcu board)-Nucleo L476RG microcontroller board (as it is the one used in the sample projects from the library)On the software side I am using the FTM examples from the X-NUCLEO-NFC06A1 (for 3916 on Mikroe board) and X-NUCLEO-NFC08A1 (for 3916B on Steval board) folders in the lib. The programs seem to be identical, only the global definition for the HW/reader selection is different.When I use the NFC08A1 program with the Steval, the reader works fine. But when I use the NFC06A1 example with the Mikroe board it doesn't work. When I try to read the chip ID in the initialisation process, it always reads zero. I have checked this interaction with a logic analyser in both examples and have attached the screenshots. I have tried both SW examples on

Hello everyoneI am creating an application on a PC that uses an ACR1552 reader and that must read and write to a ST25 device.At the moment the data reading works and I am using the SDK of the reader manufacturer using the adpu commands.I understand that in order to write to a previously protected area, I must enter the key (password) in order to then perform the writing operations.I believe it is necessary to use an adpu mode called 'transparent' to be able to directly access the ST25 to write the password.Although I have searched for some examples in the VBNET environment, I have not found anything.Is there anything on this that can help me?Thanks, Daniele

Hi Community,I am designing an NFC card reader using a combination of the ST25R3916B NFC frontend and the STM32L476 MCU.The ST25R3916B has four supply input pins:VDD_IO (pin 1): Connected to 3.3V for all serial communication.VDD_A (pin 7): Typically connected to 5V by default from the booster.VDD_RF (pin 9): Also typically connected to 5V by default from the booster.VDD_TX (pin 10): Typically connected to 5V by default from the booster.In my setup, VDD_IO is powered by a 3.3V supply, while VDD_A, VDD_RF, and VDD_TX are powered by a 5V booster supply, as seen in the ST25R3916B-EMVCO reference schematic.My question is: Is it okay or recommended to supply these three pins (VDD_A, VDD_RF, and VDD_TX) with 5V? I originally planned to power everything with a single 3.3V supply, but I noticed in the reference schematic that they are supplied with 5V. I would like to connect a 1.4uH antenna to ST25DV-I2C.The datasheet says that there is a 28.5pF capacitor inside the IC for RF interface tuning.However, when using a 1.4uH antenna, the resonant frequency shifts from 13.56MHz.How should I adjust the resonant frequency?Also, are there any application notes that describe how to adjust the resonant frequency?

Hello,I'm running a demo from STSW-ST25R-LIB which uses NFC-V. The Inventory poll returns RFAL_ERR_FRAMING as the SOF does not match. Also I have to push the tag really close to get this behaviour. The tag (M24LR64) should be fine as I can communicate with it via ST25 Android app.I assume that my HW and rfal_platform.h is set right as NFC-A tag is found successfuly after enabling it via RFAL_FEATURE_NFCA.HW I'm using is EFM32 development board with click shield and NFC 5 Click module by Mikroe. I have following questions:Is it possible that the board layout is problematic for NFC-V, but NFC-A is fine?Is it possible that the chip itself could be faulty and behave like this?I found macro RFAL_USE_COHE. Could this help? I have not found any information about this.Is there anything else that could cause this problem? Thank you very much for help or suggestions!

When the timer ID value is less than sum of the `platformGetSysTick() + RFAL_NFC_T_FIELD_OFF` it can cause false result on the first condition: ((platformGetSysTick() + RFAL_NFC_T_FIELD_OFF) > gNfcDev.discTmr)  

I am currently using STM32U5 + ST25R3196B with STM32CubeMX and X-CUBE-NFC6.The program is based on the documentation from X-CUBE-NFC6.Previously, I tested the example on the STM32F4 series, and it worked correctly. However, after migrating to STM32U5, the program does not function as expected.After tracing, I found that execution stops at the following segment: Additionally, "BSP_NFC0XCOMM_IRQ_Callback()" is not triggered as expected.I am aware that EXTI configurations differ between STM32U5 and STM32F4, so I modified the settings as follows: The SPI initialization appears to be correct, but the issue persists. hello, im designing an RFID board, using the ST25R3918, no where in the datasheet have i been able to find what to do with BSS/MOSI (float, pull up or down). I saw that BSS is used with I2C regarding transparent mode, but that's not needed for my projectthank you

I would like to use ST25DV-I2C for I2C communication and GPO output.The datasheet states that to use GPO output, an external pull-up is required for the 8-pin package, and an external power supply (VDCG) is required for the 12-pin package.However, I do not want to have an external power supply on the board.Is it possible to transmit power to the ST25DV-I2C via RF, and then supply power to the pull-up or VDCG from V_EH?Also, can power be supplied from V_EH to VCC for I2C communication?

Hi All, I'm working on implementing the fast transfer mailbox into a project and I've hitt a wall. The work-flow that I want is for my host chip to wake-up and initialize system registers and write some static data I know will never change to area1, then enable the authorization of the mailbox by writing MB_MODE to 0x01 and wait for an RF FIELD ON event (via GPO pulse), after receiving the pulse the host should free the mailbox by writing 0x01 to the MB_CTRL dynamic register and then write some new data to the mailbox.The host successfully writes to the system register and first disables the MB_MODE (system register) so that It can write some static NDEF data to area1 and then re-enables the mailbox at the end of initialization (writing MB_MODE to 0x01). I can confirm by reading with a mobile device and using the ST Tap app that the MB_MODE register is set to 0x01, which as far as I can tell means that I should be able to write from either i2c or an RF command to the MB_CTRL dynam

Hello, I couldn't find any examples with RFAL to use capacitive sensing and the usage of AAT. I'm using a single ended matched antenna. I tried using rfalAdjustRegulators(), it always gives a value of 3000. I also wanted capacitive sensing: the chip should wakeup and start polling only when a capacitance change is detected on the capacitive pads, otherwise it should be in low power mode (if possible). I've included the code I'm using. The function stateCB is being called frequently. Both use STM32L476 as motherboard. In the following pages, they demonstrated an 286mw power transfer with the small antenna on boards. Which is a nice result.My question: does ST sell the two daughter boards and provide code and hardware design files as an official reference design? Or there are other kit for evaluating this solution? We are looking for a reference design based on STM32R3916/ST25DV-I2C. Also we are planning to use this solution in our medical device project.

We are having an unusual issue where we are failing emissions at 67.8Mhz or the 5th harmonic of the NFC frequency.  We are also close to the limit for the 3rd and 4th harmonic as well.  It is unusual because it does not fail in all operating modes.  It is failing only when our sensors (devices being charged via NFC) are fully charged, so they are not "taking in" energy anymore.  The specific standard for which we are failing is CISPR11B (graph below).   Below is a schematic of our circuit for the ST25R3916: Below is a schematic of the matching circuit and PCB coil antenna: We are trying to understand why the failure only occurs when it appears that the sensors are no longer taking charge. Hi everyone,I'm working on a product that involves multiple sensors connected to a main system. Up to six sensors can be attached (see image). The overall diameter of the system (as shown in the image) is approximately 20cm. I want to use NFC tags on each sensor to identify the type of sensor (including ID and other details) when plugged into the system.The sensors are eventually connected to another system via cables. The sensors only output current (and are supplied with voltage) – so, two wires ( + - ).
