ST25 NFC/RFID tags and readers

ST25R3917 doesn't commnicate on the I2C (Address 0x50) it seems like the chip doesn't start. Maybe a problem with the crystal?- Drawn current is 50uA- Signal on MCU_CLK is a 32.5kHz Squarewave- IRQ line stays lowI assume that the capacitance on the 27.12MHz crystal might be a problem (10p) an has to be lowered. Before changing the capacitance I would like to ask if there might be another reason for the problem. As far as I understand one should get a high signal on the IRQ line once the chip started correctly. What should be the frequency on the MCU_CLK pin after a cold start and how much current should the device draw if its unconfigured?

We're evaluating the ST25DV04KC for our application. We want to write to the ST25DV04KC from NFC and read the info from I2C from our MCU.We're able to use NFC app on the smart phone to write an NDEF Text of "12345". We can read it via NFC. But reading from the EEPROM proves to be more difficult that other I2C EEPROM. Reading the data sheet, there seems to be 2 I2C addresses, 0x53 and 0x57. We've to read from both but got 0xff for every byte.So, our NDEF Text of "12345" is written somewhere in this chip. How do we get it out of this chip from our MCU?

Lebon  @Brian TIDAL So basically I am connecting ST25DV64KC tag with MKE14F512VLL16 based controller and I want to write on the tag through i2c but as I am sending data using I2c write and as I am checking using Logic analyzer it showing its writing and sending ack but when I am checking using st nfc tap app  options read memory  there nothing was written can you guys confirm few things like is tag slave  device address  is 0xA6  for writing on tag and is it mandatory to give memory address or it will assume 0000h as base address and write on it  and to write on tag do we need to send one byte at a time .Can you please provide details about i2c communication to  write on tag by the way I have already gone through the datasheet.

Hi community,since I cannot find a suitable LL-driver for reading register with 16bits address, here is my experiment.the nfc tag init function: the ReadID funciton is called, in background is GetICREF function.in low level the BSP_I2C2_Read16 function is called:console output:but the logic analyser only captures these values:*******************************************************************************************************************my questions:1. is my BSP_I2C2_Read16 funciton ok?2. the device address is 0xae, where does the value 0x57 come from?3. the register address is 0x0017, why is only the LSB 0x17 captured?Any other suggestions are willcome! thanks a lot.   

Hi, I am having some problems with my inplementation.Here is my scenary: + I am using a STEVAL-SAMARTAG1 with one shot mode example code, as my T5T tag. + I am using a NUCLEO-F722ZE board with x-nucleo-nfc03a1 as my NFC reader. My first problem is that when I ask x-nucleo-nfc03a1 which is it chip ID, I always get the string ‘NFC FS2JAST4’ with some characters wrong, for example 'N#C FS'.Then I try to detect the tag, and I get as an aswer: 0x0E 0x83 0x80 or 0x0E 0x87.I know 0x87 is invalid protocol, but I think I am initializing the reader correctly.

I have been working on getting my Arduino based code running using an Arduino UNO SMD and the X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1 with the ST25R95.I have good communication and can enable the ISO15693 protocol.My next step is to read a tag and have implemented a SendRecv sequence of 0x0403260100. After sending the last data byte of that sequence, the processor reboots and loops this reboot every time it gets to the last data byte. I tried the example from the datasheet of 0x0403022000 and the same thing happens.I checked power and found multiple issues.  First, I noticed that the X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1 board isn't completely compatible with the Arduino UNO because the 3.3V supply is tied to the IOREF pin.  On my UNO SMD, the IOREF pin is 5V and was back feeding 5V into the 3.3V regulator and pulling the whole 3.3V supply to 5V.  Thankfully the ST25R95 5V tolerant, so nothing is broken.After bending back the IOREF pin so the NFC03A1 board doesn't see it, I found out that the 3.3V supply is o

Hi,I have my own hardware and would like to verify if the ST25R3916B is responding.I'm attempting to read the address 3F for the IC identity, which becomes 7F including the read mode.However, I'm not receiving any response on the MISO line.The IRQ pin is pulled up, and the SPI frequency is set to 1MHz.What could be the issue? Hello,I am a university student working for the first time with anything NFC.  I have an X-NUCLEO-NFC08A1 board on a NUCLEO-L476RG, and the X-CUBE-NFC6 demo applications work fine for me.I am just getting into the RFAL, and had a question about some custom commands that are implemented on the NTP5332 from NXP (the OM2NTP5332 dev board, to be precise).The datasheet for the NTP5332 uses the custom commands WRITE_CONFIGURATION (code 0xC1) and READ_CONFIGURATION (code 0xC0) to set up the device's GPIO pins and other things, instead of the mandatory T5T commands READ SINGLE BLOCK and WRITE SINGLE BLOCK. I am developing a device that uses the ST25R95.  The end processor will be an ATTINY88 but for development purposes I am using an Arduino UNO and the X-NUCLEO development board.  I am developing the code in Arduino.  The main goal is to use the device in ISO15693 mode and read the value off of a tag.  In the future, I would like to try different protocols. I have good communication because I am able to get a good response from the Echo command and I can retrieve the IDN.However, I am not able to read the information from a tag. On boot up, I run the ECHO command to make sure I have communication, read the IDN, setup the tag protocol, then start trying to read from a tag.To set the tag protocol, I send 000202010D.Is there some way to confirm what protocol the IC is using to make sure I set it correctly?To try and read a tag, I send 000403260100.  If i don't send the first 00, I get a response of 136 which the datasheet tells me is a start of frame erro

Hello,We are using ST25R3920B as NFC reader for our project. The communication is through SPI between mcu and NFC reader. I configured a GPIO as an interrupt and wrote a callback function for this GPIO.At the end of the callback function, interrupt flag is cleared. Inside this callback function, a task is notified. Before jumping to the task, interrupt flag is cleared at the the end of the callback function.The task I notified will call the "st25r3916CheckForReceivedInterrupts" function.However, I use this GPIO's status (HIGH, LOW) in order to read some registers in the task. Because I clear interrupt, I am not able to read this pin as HIGH. Operating system is FreeRTOS. In rubber ducking a specific issue with the ST25DV04K, I'm trying to take a step back and learn what others are doing. In short, I have a use case where the ST25DV04K is working well on Android with NFCv (https://developer.android.com/reference/android/nfc/tech/NfcV). However, most operations are failing on iOS using both Core NFC (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/corenfc) and a React Native library that supports ISO 15693. Hello everyone !Currently, I'm trying to control a ST25RU3993-HPEV board with my NUCLEO-L476RG.I'm using the FW that I found on this link and I use the differents functions which are in "evalAPI_Commans.h".I use "st25RU3993ReadChipVersion()" or "st25RU3993AntennaPower() " and it's work perfectly. I'm using an external Power Supply and i can see the current at 0.7 - 0.8 A. My question is :How i can recover the different RFID Tag ?I need to active the AntennaPower or not ? Thanks. Paul :) 

according to datasheet I can set the RF field to High or Low via the MOSI pin, but when I look at the real RF field I found the problem that the RF field is set to Low and goes High immediately not remain low as ns delay time I set at firmware

Hello everyone,I'm trying to detect some RFID tags with the STSW-ST25RU-SDK wich is give here.I try to detect some tags with the Gen2_Inventory() function but when the ST25RU3993 detect a tag, an interrupt turn on and after my external MCU go directly in the InfiniteLoop. I always enter in this infinite loop when i detect a tag.Someone can help me to debug my interrupt please ? Thank you !Paul
