ST25 NFC/RFID tags and readers

I am using the STM32L476RG board and STSW-ST25R-LIB with ST25R3911B chip.Our project aims to read data from ST25DV64.How to make changes to it？

I want to use a MEMS oscillator driving the XTI pin instead of just a crystal between XTI and XTO.  What are the specifications on the input signal?  AC coupled? Amplitude? Drive impedance? Suggested circuit for a 0V to 3.3V output oscillator?

Hello. I'm trying to use the st25dv64kc with FTM and energy harvesting and a modified version of the reference ST android application. According to the scope it appears that power is available from the energy harvesting, but there seems to be a pinging sequence occurring from the android side which makes a continued connection to the NFC chip difficult to maintain. Are there any features in the ST android SDK to help with maintaining a connection to the NFC chip or any best practices for maintaining FTM transfers while energy harvesting?Thanks!

Hi!   I have a problem with reading data from M24LR16E. First time i used Android ST25 app.  Then, i tried to write some default data ("This is a text of 64 characters ====...") on NDEF tab, and after the connection lost (Start screen "Please tap an NFC tag..." not changed, the tag not detect). After I tried to read tag on iPhone (NFC Tap application). It detected the tag, but on start application shows the error "Error while processing CCFile".   How i can reset the tag? I have been working with the ST25 app for some months and somehow the app started to behave strange. I'm working in an application where I protect the Area 1 for writing and to do that I configured the password with ST25 app. In that moment I chose an Area 1 password and then I presented the configuration password to set the Area 1 security password. Now I'm trying to write the memory with the ST25 app but I just can't. There's a message that say: "Command Failed" and that's all. I have tried to write in multiples ways, I tried to configure again the password or even remove it, but the same message appeared. I'm working with a POCO phone with Android 13 and with an iPhone 7 with iOS 15 and I'm presenting the same problem in both OS. I would like to know if there was any app update or if someone else is presenting the same problem. How could I fix it? any idea?

Hi! I have an Android Terminal with ST NFC App and I have seen that when I try to erase a memory, the app put me '07' in the third column of the memory. Does anyone has an idea about why the app fails?Thanks! :D

Hello, I'm using NFC08A1 Nucleo expansion board. I am trying to interface this board with another renesas microcontroller via SPI.I have connected the expansion board through jumper wires on SPI lines,IRQ,and GND ,VCC. I'm using RFAL stack for 3916B IC. Currently I'm facing issue in IC initialisation DemoIni() function, the code is getting stuck at  EXIT_ON_ERR( err, st25r3916Initialize() ); inside rfalInitialize() function. Can you please suggest how this issue can be solved.

Hello!I'm using ST25R95 with X-CUBE-NFC3 library for an application.I have successfully tried the default PollingTagDetect example. But now, our application requires the usage of interrupt mode for card detection instead of looping NFC_Cycle(); in infinite loop.Application is to just read the UID of the card.@Brian TIDAL @unknown Any help will be appreciated.Regards,Keshav Aggarwal

Hi, I'm testing a ST25R95 with a Molex 146236-2131 Antenna. The Antenna Specs (per Molex) are  La 4.1uH Ra 7.8 Ohms Ca 7.9pF Fra 31.0MHz Rp 10.4K Ohms Q 44.2 Using the ST25R95_EMI_FILTER_CALCULATION spreadsheet I substituted La and Ra to produce the following Antenna Matching Circuit. C01 and C02 are 200pF, L01 and L02 are 0.56uH C11 and C12 are 0.57pF C2 is 3.5 pF R01 and R02 are 330R. I've breadboarded the circuit and it works, but the range is less than I had hoped. Can someone check my work and tell me if I've missed anything? Thanks

Good morning, everyone!I'm new here at the ST forum, so please forgive me if I make any mistakes.Currently, I'm working on migrating the ST25R3916B library for the X-NUCLEO 08A1 DK from ST to Nordic (specifically, nRF52840).I've already replaced all the SPI functions from ST with the Nordic ones, and I've confirmed successful SPI communication using the SALEAE device. However, I'm encountering an issue with the MISO channel not receiving the correct parameters. Hi,So for my custom application I am currently testing with the NFC08A1 board and need to write my own firmware to manage the ST25R3916B IC's on the board. I have been able to implement AP2P between two boards but have not been able to get the board to read NFC-A/any tags yet. Memory is currently setup as in the attached image (I have attempted to set the required registers, but these may be incorrect/I may be missing some). My implementation currently attempts to read by first resetting RX gain, turning NFC initial field on (and wait for the relevant IRQ), clear FIFO, then Transmit REQA. I have tried dissecting the RFAL library but this would take too long so I was wondering if anyone had a working solution.Thanks in advance!

I have been looking through example code which uses the same library as me and stumbled across the following code, shown in nfcDataExchange.png. I have been using the code to try and read/write from/to a tag, but I haven't had much success. Google doesn't seem to be useful for this either, since I only stumble across posts explaining the structure of a NFC Data Exchange Frame (NDEF), but from what I know T2T and T4T tags require different payload structures.So my question is, are there documents available that show how to read/write to a tag and also how to structure the tx buffer depending on the tag type? or is someone willing to explain this to me? or can someone point me in the right direction?Also, given that the example code I looked at had the code shown in the p

Hi,I am using the ST25R3916B on a custom PCB and am having some field failures where it seem that the device is failing to respond on SPI to my microcontroller.  When I get the board back in house I can see that my first SPI command to read the ID register is not working.  Rebooting will sometimes allow me to properly read the ID, but it seems that once the issue starts eventually the chip will get itself into a state where it stops responding altogether.  I have scoped out my SPI signals and everything looks good coming out of my uC, but I then get nothing on MISO. The rest of the board works fine and all power rails look fine so I am a bit confused on what to try next as it seems like the chip is just dying.  I currently have about 42 of these boards in the field and have seen ~10% fail with this failure mode and need to be replaced.  Another data point - This is the second version of the product.  The previous one used a mix of 3911Bs and 3915s and

Hi, I have been working on a project where i use st25r3918. However, I could not make it work. I have checked my hardware by using other boards and it looks like it is working. For sorftware, I have tried using st25r3911's library and have changes accordingly. I have also tried to make my own library and both did not work. I have also tried to check what is wrong with locig analizor and oscillator. I cannot even read id registor (with or without declaring some registors first). What can be the problem with stm32g0 and st25r3918 communicating?

Hi! A while back I started writing Rust driver for st25r3911b chip. Currently, it works and can read 14443A chip. The issue is that compared to official software (Discovery GUI) the read distance is about half. So if official software reads at 8-9cm then with rust driver it would just 5-6 cm.I feel like I have messed up some register configurations. My knowledge of RF is very limited. I have program for CAN bus and NFC08a1 but when i combine i get several errors. All i want to do is get the reading from the nfc reader and send them on can. does anyone know how to do that?

I bought ST25RU3993-HPEV kit to make my project. I try to program the programming board STM32L476RGT6 MCU in CUBE IDE (Not showing board). Then I try STSW-ST25RU001 (ST25RU3993 Reader suite), But not working as well, not reading and writing tags. My aim is to make a project using RFID with my own code. Does it possible to write my C program in this MCU board ? Please help to solve this issue. Thank you

Dear All,we are developing a prototype board based on ST25R3911B_NFC05A1 evauation board and we have 3 questions:1) What is the NFC forum matching circuit? Does it have any constraints in the layout?2) Can moving the antenna feed up by 10-15mm (see below image) be a problem for antenna performance?3) Does supplying ST25R3911b VDD with 3.3V instead of 5V reduce reading/writing distance? With the demo (supplied at 5V) we can achieve 4-5cm and we should maintain that distance with 3.3V supply.Thank you very much for your support.Best regards,

I’m a tech journalist and I’m doing a little feature on NFC. What I need is an NFC wristband that isn’t just passive.What I’m after is an wristband that could be tapped to other NFC wristbands (the same models) to exchange some basic info (a line of text maybe) that could then be 'stored' (either using an NFC SoC with memory capacity / or additional memory) and then 'transferred' to a smartphone at a later time to be decoded.I understand there may need to be a power cell for this, I was hoping a coin battery to keep costs / size to a minimum.These wristbands would also, ideally, be able to tap against passive NFC stickers and tags to also receive and store info.Is that possible? I hope that all makes sense?
