ST25 NFC/RFID tags and readers

Hi,I want to detect NFC tag. For that I have a P-NUCLEO-WB55 + X NUCLEO NFC06A1.I have downloaded the zip file (en.X-CUBE-NFC6_v1.1.0) from ST with examples but they are for boards that aren't mine.I tried to:Generate a code for wb55 with CubeMXAdd files (header and source) from the zip fileBut I ended up with somes errors like "/Core/Inc/platform.h:149:55: warning: implicit declaration of function '_Error_Handler'; did you mean 'Error_Handler'?"or "'BUS_SPI1_NSS_GPIO_PORT' undeclared (first use in this function); did you mean 'NUCLEO_SPIx_SCK_GPIO_PORT'?"So my question is what is the right way to create a project with X CUBE NFC6 ?EDIT:Thanks to Brian TIDAL, I have been able to create a project from scratch for WB55 + NFC06A1 shield.Process should be the same for others boards so you will find in attachement a zip containing a tutorial.

Is it possible to get the Altium pcb and schematic files for the ST25R3916-disco or nucleo just like the ST25R3911B-disco?

Hi ST,We bought a ST25RU3993-HEPV last year to evaluate the RFID chip and wanted to control it using SPI (see that question, where you already helped us). The master SPI is a Cortex A15.We managed to set-up SPI communication and to implement spiTxRx() to read/write registers (single and continuous read/write). We started to integrate others ST functions from the ST25RU3993 STUHFL SDK package v3-0-2-0 package, especially the st25RU3993Initialize function.Before doing anything, this function runs a selftest to check three things:SPI communication works (write & read 4 bytes in Modulator control register 1 register)Check EN pin by calling st25RU3993ResetDoNotPreserveRegistersWe did not connect EN pin to a GPIO for now, so the chip is always enabled. I replaced the OFF/ON of the EN pin by a Soft Init (83h) single command.Check that the IRQ line is working, by sending 24 bytes in FIFO register instead of the 48 announced, and waiting more than 40ms, to have a timeout triggered on ST25RU

We are developing a IC card skipass Reader product for ski resort market. I checked TRF7961 from TI, but it can provide only 200mW output power. In the datasheet of ST25R3916, this IC can give up to 1.7W output power. I wonder these two are same index or not. I would like to know the maximum reading distance with ST25R3916. Could you give me some information or advice?If possible, we want a distance about 30cm. With TRF7961, about 15cm can be obtained. Thank you very much for your help in advance.

Hi everyone,I'm facing some issues while trying to understand if (and eventually how) it's possible to use a different antenna using an X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1 evaluation board.I know I may just use the bare ST25R95 chip and then realize an impedance matching circuitry to it, but for timing reasons I'm trying to understand if it would be possible to do that with all that's offered with the NFC03A1 evaluation board.Still, I have some questions and doubts:1) Is it possible? 2a) if possible, how can I do that? In the ST25R95 datasheet is only reported the differential output impedance, but in the X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1 there is only a schematic with the whole matching circuitry after ST25R95 TX1 and TX2 pins, so it's not clear how to do that.In fact I have a custom antenna which is a MUST to be used for my application, and I need to use it instead of the one integrated in the NFC03A1.2b) If not possible, I found the X-NUCLEO-NFC06A1 which uses the ST25R3916 reader, which has an AAT possibility control

Hi,We build a IC board with STM32G0 and ST25 NFC/RFID tag. It use also an EMI (AN5248) (I²C, Timers are used on the STM32). Reading Tag is OK. But when generating noise(EMC test) on SCL and tag is detected at the same time, the system goes down. ??

We are planning to use X-NUCLEO-NFC06A1 eval kit for one of our RFID application that requires read/write range of 30CMs. Can you please confirm the read/write range of NFC06A1 kit? Also, please suggest suitable adhesive RFID tag for this application.

 I cant seem to find the correct IDE, etc. Looking to use something like eclipse and the USB. Any good documentation would be helpful, thanks!

The ST25R3911B datasheet indicates it supports VHBR. In the RFAL code, there is default configuration for NFC-B VHBR rates, but nothing for NFC-A (ISO 14443-A).Are VHBR rates supported for ISO 14443-A?

We are prototyping a ST95HF NFC in combination with an embedded Linux board.Since we can only find Linux demo code for the ST3916 on your website wetried to combine the ST25r95 rfa library found in STSW-ST25RFAL003_v2.6.0with the Linux demo code found in STSW-ST25R013 - Linux demo of ST25R3916 for Raspberry Pi using X-NUCLEO-NFC06A1 which has demo code based on RFAL 2.2.0Our efforts so far to combine the code is able to to discover the technology of the card presentedbut after this we end up with communication failures to/from the ST25r95 chip.Is there code available of the Linux demo project for the ST25r95 forversion v2.6.0?We successfully used the poller based version of Linux_RFAL_st25r95_v2.0.4 to read NFC cards, but this is version is too CPU intensive and version 2.6.0 seems to be a much improved version.

I am trying to read temperature from SL900A tag. As base I am using in SDK provided. demo_gen2GenericCommand . Actually, I download ST25PC-NFC program on web and installed in a new Windows 10 to my computer. Unfortunately, the program cannot run properly. The program front page would pop out to screen and closed the window immediately.

I'm trying to get a X-Nucleo-NFC06A1 shield to work with a Nucleo-L433RC-P devboard. As far as I understand, the requisite software package for that is the X-CUBE-NFC6.Unfortunately, I can't get it to install either by the package manager ("Help->Manage Embedded Software Packages->ST Microelectronics" - offers only X-CUBE-NFC4) or by trying to install it from the .zip (gives me an error about a corrupt package). I am using STM32CubeIDE 1.8.0, last updated today. What am I doing wrong?

Hello,I'm facing problems thinking about how to read RF data using my 03A1 reader using FTM.My main point is to see if I can decrease RF reading times of a message (8 bytes, so really short) using the ISO15693 standard.My first firmware uses 04A1 tag and 03A1 reader, and it's fine, it needs about 80ms to complete the reading/decoding of the NDEF message via RF reader, reading the tag's EEPROM.I was asking myself if it's possible to reduce more this reading time, and I'm struggling in understanding how to read RF data from the 04A1 mailbox using my 03A1 reader.I currently use an Arduino board with Arduino libraries from ST, which lets me configure and write messages to the mailbox via I2C. The main question is: how to read this mailbox using the reader via RF?The library seems not talking about this, only refers to tag mailbox and MCU tag side.I found the embedded library described in the file AN5512, but it only works using STM Cube. Do I need to use it? Is this the only way?Thank you

We are developing both an Android and iOS app that leverages FTM from the ST25DV chip. In the Android version of the NFC Tap app, we can send custom commands and interact with FTM. However, in the iOS app, there is no "send custom command" screen. I know in iOS there is a section for FTM where you can send pictures and files, but why is this functionality missing from the iOS app. More to the point... Can we send custom commands in iOS that leverages FTM mode? Our iOS developer has been struggling for months to get this to work. Can someone please confirm that sending custom commands and FTM is supported in iOS. Thanks in advance.Mariano

Where can I find details of RFAL (for ST25R95) API calls. I've seen they should be in CHM documentation file found in rfal\doc, but I can't find this.

If you look into the AN4327 CR95HF transceiver antenna tuning circuit with EMI filter you see:I assume this means 22 pF capacity in parallel with 80 kOhm resistance. But when you open the recommended Excel sheet you see:Until this moment this was supposed to be 1 gOhm. And finally you open the CR95HF Datasheet to check the value and there you see this:Can anyone tell me what's the correct value finally?
