ST25 NFC/RFID tags and readers

We are using ST25RU3993 IC with STM32L476 MCU. We are using the same SDK Provided by ST. But after giving the command of Start Scan in GUI(ST25RU3993 Reader Suit), we are not able to read tags. We also checked the signal on PAOUT_P and PAOUT_N through VNA. But it does not show any signal on that pins. We have designed our own PCB board as per reference provided by ST. We also debug the code using ST-Link and in st25ru3993initialize() function there is SPI connection error. But we have checked using multimeter the connection between STM32L476 and ST25RU3993 IC (SPI lines) is ok. We are using internal PA in this. Kindly help us in this problem.

Hi, Can we use ST25RU3993 Eval kit in Device mode directly(instead of Host driven), without using the GUI application.Need to use it directly without using GUI Application for making configuration for detecting the TAGs. Please let me know if such setting are present or not in the available firmware SDK or any change are required to make it working.All the supports are highly appreciated.Thanks SS

Hi,We have an ST25DV04K NFC tag which is being used to communicate to a host microcontroller from a mobile app and we're having trouble with FTM after booting up the host device from the app.We're starting up the host from this app by pulsing the GPO line. Unfortunately, the maximum interrupt time is too short so we're generating a pulse with the Manage GPO command; set, wait 100ms, reset. This works great.Once the device boots up, it then configures the tag to disallow RF from controlling the GPO with the Manage GPO command (by setting RF_USER_EN to 0 in GPO register).Then, we need to send some data to the host via FTM. So we enable the mailbox and write our data. On the host side, we see the interrupt, check the IT_STS_Dyn register for RF_PUT_MSG, then read the data, calculate the CRC, then write that back to the mailbox.This is where there's an issue. The mobile app is now polling the MB_CTRL_Dyn register for HOST_PUT_MSG. However, that never happens. Even stranger, if we move the p

Hi,I have a ST25DV04K and I read/write it with the NFC Reader NFC06A1 connected to a NUCLEO L476RG electronic card.To read and write I use the "X-CUBE-NFC6" library (Ver 1.1.0)I would like to know if it is possible to set a password to protect the NFC device ST25DV04K for writing.In the library found on the web link I have not found a function that allows me to set it.Could you give me some examples?Thanks

A question about the application note AN2972 (chapter 4.1): How do I build and connect excactly the self-made single turn loop?I want to do the Antenna tuning measurements with a network analyzer as described in chapter 4.1 (see application note in the appendix). I will use an ZVL-6 Rohde und Schwarz and a coaxial cable. I plug this cable to port 1 in order to do a S11-Measurement as descirbed in the AN2972. But I'm not sure what to do with the other end of the cable.

We built a system based on application notes and evaluation board schematics and design. It consists of the MCU (stm32f407), RFID reader ST25RU3993, and some RF-related stuff. After studying the datasheet of M24LR, I am not sure if I implement two 3v button batteries, the M24LR could send back some massage (like UID) to the reader with a stronger signal than other passive tags. Here are my questions: 1: Will the signal strength be better after I use an external power source to VCC?2: Can I achieve a protocol that the M24LR sends back the massage instantly after receiving a reading signal from the reader?

I am doing a project which requires ST25R95 reading distance operating about 30cm. I studied the EV kit of ST25R95 and implemented the circuit as a reference to design my system.Unfortuneately, the reading distance is still around 7cm. After several days of studying the AN5248 and tuning the STSW-ST25R003, I still can not get a breakthrough in a longer reading distance and better magnetic field performance. Hi, I have a issue with the ST25R3916 when using the AAT and the Hardware wake up functions together. The tuning works fine and finds the best parameters, then when entering sleep mode the parameters changes to a fixed value. When waking up the first time the outputs for aat_a and aat_b goes back the tuning parameters, but every wake up after outputs for aat_a and aat_b are just 2V. How can I get the ST25R3916 to use the tuning parameters every time? And why does ST not recommend using these two features together? I have looked in the example projects for the IC but there the AAT is not used.Below some scope images of the AAT_B output (Yellow, green is data transfer). AAT with an antenna with capacitance and the first card read. AAT of antenna with high capacitanceFirst and second card read of antenna with high capacitance. I am using ST25R3911DISCOComm.dll and the lib in a QT application. Using MSVC 2019 32-bit configuration I am able to get my application running using the 'Debug' sub-configuration only. If I use the 'Release' the application crashes immediately. My suspicion is that this is due to the DLL. Is this correct? Can you point me in the right direction so that I can compile for 'Release' target?Also it would be very helpful if you could add a library for 64-bit targets.

Hello,I am working on a project where I need to send information from an NFC reader to a tag. The idea is to use an (Arduino UNO + PN532) as an NFC reader and send the information to the ANT7-T-ST25DV04K module which will be connected to an MSP430 microcontroller. The question is if this connection would be possible for data transmission. On the other hand, I would like to know if you have examples of code in which the ANT7-T-ST25DV04K module receives data and sends it to the microcontroller. If you don't have examples, how could I do it? what registers should I use? is there any library? Hello,I'm using adafruit ST25DV module with Nordic 52832 as host MCU, and porting the code to host bases on the ST25DV_DISCOVERY_FW_V1.1.2 demo, then encountered below issues:1) In the demo, after enabling FTM, host MCU will keep monitoring the it status MsgInMailbox by calling BSP_NFCTAG_ReadITSTStatus_Dyn but after porting, host MCU never get this interrupt but can get the RFPutMsg by calling ST25DV_i2c_ReadMBCtrl_Dyn when App sends data to ST25DV.I can confirm I've enabled (ST25DV_GPO_RFPUTMSG_MASK | ST25DV_GPO_RFGETMSG_MASK | ST25DV_GPO_ENABLE_MASK) in GPO register, what other reason may cause this happen?2) By monitoring RFPutMsg in ST25DV_i2c_ReadMBCtrl_Dyn in the code, host MCU can easily receive 256 bytes, 512 bytes data from App, but when App sends more data let says 16000 bytes, it keeps intermittent, App keeps retry and host MCU cannot get correct data from ST25DV, is it related to questions 1?3) During testing, I keep monitoring every second on the RF field by calling ST25D

I have BL654 as a tag. When reading it from the ST-25 Android app it receives 992 as mentioned below. Whereas the write data size in the tag is only 14 bytes. I found the file enSTSW_ST25RFAL001_v2.4.zip, it appears newer than the rfal code from the main project zip file en.x-cube-nfc5_v2.0.0 zip file. I tried to merge it in to see if it gets me past trouble reading ST25TV tags, but there are a lot of compile I tried to merge it in to see if it gets me past trouble reading ST25TV tags, but there are a lot of compile problems. I'm trying to read a T2T tag with NFC card reader, Nucleo expasion board attached to STM32F103 Nucleo board. I'm using an example from X-CubeExpansion_NFC3This tag is well formatted with NDEF, but when I try to read with this example, I get an error in ndefPollerNdefDetect(). This funtion returns ERR_PROTO.If I read this tag with any other application, I can read it content.Can you help me with this problem.
