Hi,We have duplicated the design onto our own NFC tag, copying the same antenna design onto a flexi pcbWhat should be the tuning capacitor for this coil be for NFC ?If thats not available, what is the inductance value of the antenna so we can try and calculate it ourselves. Ultimately we will tune it but we would like to start with at least an approximation

We programmed the ST25DV16 tag using the antenna and the GUI using the ST25R3919B. However, when we use the android apps to read the ST25DV16 tag its not getting read. The android apps read all the other tags of 13.56 mHz available in the market, but not ST25DV16 tag. We are also able to charge the small battery of 24mAh connected to the ST25DV16 tag using the ST25R3919B as poller. This tag is read using the GUI and the EVK of ST. How to make it work and be read by the android phone?

I am using the STEVAL 25R200 evaluation board for reading/ writing to/from NFC tag and using STM32CubeIDE for implementing the ndef example read and write (provided in the firmware folder of STEVAL 25R200). I have separately made NFC_read.c and NFC_write.c where I am using the example codes and calling them in the main.c code.  The RFAL initializing is called once and then the actual polling/reading process is in the while(1) loop of main function.  However, the program execution hangs indefinitely inside the rfalNfcInitialize() function which I later on traced it to the st25r200Initialize() function. I have also successfully checked the correct execution of SPI communication by reading IC ID at 0x3F (= 0x54) without any problem. The program hangs before st25r200InitInterupts() routine is called according to me, since I am not getting the debug output in that I inserted in that function. Also because of that, certain debug outputs present in the  EXTI0_1_IRQHan

Hello, I am using the ST-25R200 ready-to-use NFC evaluation board for my application. I have already used the ST25R200 EVAL GUI software which functions without any problem.  Since I want to develop my own software and integrate it for the application which requires to read/write to the NFC tags, I went through the forum and found out some much helpful ST25NFC_Embedded_Lib_ST25R200_1.8.0. After installing, I went through the example ndef_read.c and ndef_write.c codes (which are very thorough in and of themselves). I am trying to use these codes along with the required drivers and header files using VS code. I have properly included the paths for all the required headers. However, while compiling I am getting the error: reent.h source file (dependency of rfal_nfc.h) could not be opened. I am also unable to find the said header file in the installed embedded library folder. Request for any help, since I am a novice in programming microcontrollers

Hello everyone,I’m currently working with the ST25DV04K chip and I’ve noticed two points that are a bit confusing:There doesn’t seem to be any way to change the RF passwords via I²C.I couldn’t find any command that allows a full factory reset (including resetting the passwords).My questions are:Is this really the case, or am I missing some undocumented/hidden command?If the passwords are set via I²C and cannot be changed anymore, doesn’t this risk making the device unusable in case of a configuration mistake?Is there any recommended method from ST to bring the chip back to a “clean” state without replacing it?Thanks in advance to anyone who can clarify these points.

Hi,I am using a ST25R3920 to emulate a type 2 tag. I have got the Read part working and I am able to send 16 bytes of data in response to 0x30 and confirm the data on a phone. But when the phone tries to write data using 0xA2, I am unable to send the 4 bit Ack (0xA) response that is acceptable for the phone which throws a write error. On probing the modulation using an oscilloscope, I noticed that the ST25 is sendingstart 0101 0000 parity instead ofstart 0101 parityHere is my send sequence:Clear FIFOSet ntx = 0, nbtx = 4 (to send only 4 bits)Load FIFO with 0xATransmit without CRCIs it possible to send 4 bit frames in card emulation mode with this chip to support type 2 communication?

As they don't have the same functionalities, how to know to which circuit exactly we are addressing?ST25R3911B or ST25R3912 or ST25R3914 or ST25R3915ST25R3916 or ST25R3917 or ST25R3918 or ST25R3920ST25R3916B or ST25R3917B or ST25R3919B or ST25R3920BST25R100 or ST25R200ST25R300 or ST25R500 or ST25R501It seems each chip in the same group share the the same `ic_type` & `ic_rev`, so how to distinguish them in firmware?

Is there a way to find the RF output power using the ST25R3916 without measuring it externally? I don't need an exact value. The product selector says the nominal output power is 1600 mW. However, at a max of 3 Vpp and 150 mA input current (measured via power profiler), that's 450 mW not including losses. I know that the output power can be adjusted via the d_res register, which I do, but that's only to aim for the target amplitude. Is there something else I can look at here?

I have been asked to implement functionality for a Feig NFC-reader ( ID CPR30-USB) into an existing C# desktop-application.However, I only find some SDK-like thing for Java (the "ST25PC-NFC"). But I would need something for C, or C++, or C# or VisualBasic. Or anything that would be .NET-compatible.A similar question has been asked here: Solved: ST25 SDK for .NET - STMicroelectronics Community It is marked as "solved", but for the life of me I cannot understand how this is solved, since the "accepted solution" from "customer support" only points to the same Java code.

Hello,I'm evaluating ST25DV for an application and am trying to characterize max available VEH voltage. I'm using STEVAL-SMARTAG1 board, and monitoring VEH output while enabling "Energy Harvesting" feature on the "NFC Tap" app.  I can't seem to get above 3.4V on the VEH pin.I've used both the embedded antenna, and as well as an external antenna (at which point I cut the embedded antenna traces). With the external antenna I made sure it is tuned to 13.56MHz while connected to ST25DV front end. I can confirm that the induced voltage is 9V (which seems to be due a clamping because when I disconnect the ST25DV I can get induced voltages well over 20V).I'm trying to understand what is limiting VEH to 3.4V when I can clearly get quite a bit of voltage from the coil.  The 3.4V limit seems to be also due to a clamp, because irrespective of the antenna position the voltage won't go above that, period. Can anyone point me at an RFID/NFC solution from STM? I'm looking for a product that would ideally fall between the NXP PM532 family of 'All-in One' non flexible transponder solutions and the Ti TRF7970 family of very flexible but complex transceivers. NFC is essential.This is to implement with the STM32MP255 (AK). I'm sure ST have a solution as they're 'on the board' sts of the RFID/NFC standards.  I can't find anything though.   Hi all, I’m using an ST25R3916 with RFAL on an STM32 and I’m trying to talk to an NXP NTAG 5 Boost (ISO15693/NFC-V) using its custom commands: READ/WRITE SRAM (0xD2/0xD3) and READ/WRITE I²C (0xD5/0xD4). Plain ISO15693 commands work fine (e.g., ReadSingleBlock / WriteSingleBlock). I am using a NUCLEO-L053R8 board with an X-NUCLEO-NFC08A1 extension. I made modifications to the NFC08A1 to enable I2C communications and this works. I can read the A bank of registers and the values all make sense except for IO configuration register 1. It should have all 0s for the default value, but it always reads 0xFF. I can read, write, and read back IO configuration register 2 just fine. Even if I try to write all 0s to IO configuration register 1, it always reads back as 0xFF. I set up a scope to capture the i2c activity and it agrees with the firmware. Our firmware is custom, and we can successfully operate an NFC07A1 board. I am attaching a picture of the scope screen.

Hi everyone,I'd like to use the ST25R3916B device for a very low-power device. I downloaded the X-CUBE-NFC6 library version 3.0.0, and I don't see an example of calling rfalLowPowerModeStart().I saw earlier that someone managed to find it in version 1.0.0, but I can't find it anywhere.Could someone help me? Or provide the library in this version, or an example of using this function in the latest version?By the way: Why isn't this functionality included in the current examples? Hello,    I use st25r3916 driver and DemoCycle from X-Cube-NFC6 app but devCnt for discovery is never more than 1 even though I have 2 tags next to the antenna and devLimit is set to 3. Also I see state machine never goes to RFAL_NFC_STATE_POLL_SELECT How can I further debug it? Thanks,     Mihai

Dear Colleagues, Dear STM Team,I use an ST25R3911B, and when I connect to the tag, I send data there and everything is fine. The problem occurs when I hold my phone with the eCard for payments to it. It then attempts to pay with a card over the phone. This looks strange and undesirable for customers. I don't want the ST25R3911B device to try to connect to a bank card on my phone. It looks for my clients that we try to have an access to their cards when they are close to the device. How to block this behaviour where phones behaves that try to pay every time hen are close to my reader with ST25R3911B?I know that this happen because I am polling NFCA from the ST25R3911B reader (PICC) and then smartphone recognize ST25R3911B as the payment terminal. However, I need to have this NFCA to have communication with my NFC tag target device (PCD). So, how to prevent the behaviour of this chip to activate the credit card payment when it is close to the smartphone or smarthatch with electronic

Hi I am using ST25R3916B as NFC reader and it is interfaced with STM32G0B1RT6N via I2C lines. I am not able to communicate with reader IC . I have checked I2C_EN line is connected to VDD_D voltage output from reader IC. it is 2.05V and SCL and SDA lines are pulled  up to 3.3V with 10K resistor.Pls help me where i am doing wrong

I have an RFID module based on CR95HF. I'm using an NXP-MIFARE classic 1K tag type ISO 14443-3A,my goal is to read its content which is an NDEF text inside the tag, I based my code on the example code (D.1.4 NFC Forum Tag Type 2) from the datasheet page 64 to page 67.I can get the tag's UID, but it does not show me the content of the tag.
