STM32 MCUs Boards and hardware tools

Hello! I am a student studying STM32.First of all, thank you very much for your help. First of all, my main concern is that I would like to update the firmware on a board that has the G491RE mounted on it.However, we do not have an external ST-LINK, and only have a Nucleo-F411 board. Is there any way to use the Nucleo-F411 as an ST-LINK? Or is it possible to obtain the ST-LINK firmware?

The controller on the board is erased via STM32CubeProgrammer.At the same time, the multimeter shows 1V on pin PC3 CN7:37 relative to GND CN7:8. How can this be? 

Hello,I came across an old book in a bookstore that has some interesting bare metal C projects for a NUCLEO-F030.  Other than setting the clock speed to 80 MHz and adjusting for some pin variance, will code written for it run on a NUCLEO-F3 or -F4?Thanks.

I'm starting a bare-metal firmware that will display basic graphics on a LTDC connected LCD screen. For the moment I'm using a STM32H53-EVAL2 board (rev E I think)Right now I write a fix image in the frame buffer. The image is correctly displayed except it's kind of blinking.Since the image never changes I suspect it is due to the setup of the LTDC interface or LCD screen.I based my software on STM32CubeH7 source code example (LTDC_Paint application).  Do you know:- the screen model on the eval board ( I couldn't find the model in the STM32H753-EVAL2 reference manual)- what configuration parameter could cause the "blinking" of a fixed image ? Thank you

You may encounter an issue when developing for the STM32 microcontroller using STM32 development boards where a pin that is configured for reading on a General Purpose Input/Output (GPIO) reports a high state even when it is not physically connected to any circuit. Pins are not expected to output neither high or low when left floating.  This can lead to significant difficulties when developing for the target. In my specific use case, this behavior resulted in an LED flashing when the jumper was not bridged, leading to confusion and misinterpretation of the system's status. It took me more than a week to understand what was happening because debugging step by step using the STMCubeIDE always resulted in the expected functionality. I believe such an issue can arise due to floating inputs and/or electrical noise, mainly if the board is sitting on an isolator.To fix this please make sure to implement pull-up or pull-down resistors in your design to ensure that the GPIO pin h

I've bought the one at this link https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33010611392.html When I open  STM32CubeProgrammer  and click "connect" nothing happens, apart from the message in the log windowThe serial number is shown as "E" Do I need to do something to make this device work? Or where can I buy one that works out of the box?

I use the STEVAL-MKBOXPRO and I updated the board with the data recorder thanks to the expert view. I added the bluetooth stream output and I can see all the sensors on the IOs application. But I don't record any data on the SD card. The file is created and I see the header with all the sensors, but there is no data. The defaultAppPro is available on the card. I use the card provided by ST with the eval kit. What is wrong in my set up if I cannot record sensor data?

 Hello, My STWINKT1B (STEVAL-STWINKT1B) had been working fine, but suddenly it is no longer detected by PySDK.Now the red LED blinks rapidly (≈4 Hz) and no USB/COM device appears in Windows Device Manager.To recover it, I performed a full flash using STM32CubeProgrammer + ST-LINK (SWD), with the official firmware:C:\Users\User\Downloads\fp-sns-datalog2\STM32CubeFunctionPack_DATALOG2_V3.1.0\ Projects\STM32U585AI-STWIN.box\Applications\DATALOG2\Binary\datalog2_release.binFull erase → Program + Verify = OK, but after reset the symptom remains: fast red LED blinking and still no USB device.During the firmware update, both the ST-LINK and the board were connected to my laptop.I also powered the board via micro-USB for more than 2 hours, but the red LED keeps blinking at the same rate (no green LED).I tried different cables/ports/PCs, battery OFF/ON, and a FAT32/MBR microSD (also tried empty card), but the issue persists.Could you clarify:What does the fast-blinking red LED (~4 Hz)

I planning to use STM32H573 (LQFP) for Ethernet based on RMII. Is this controller support to all RMII signals. Please suggest the clock frequency shall give from external or internal, which one is the best.

Dear Community,I am using a Nucleo-H723ZG for my uni project and im running into issues with the PA11 & PA12 Pins.I want to use them for FDCAN1 and I have verified that my code works. No matter in what way i try to use these two pins the dont output.if I switch to FDCAN2 with the same code and simply switch all instances of &hfdcan1 to &hfdcan2 i can read the signals with an scope and a can2usb adapter and get the right values. I also tried to select just the mcu instead of the board because i read that sometimes USB_OTG messes with things but no luck.Lastly i tried with another brand new Nucleo-H723ZG but also here no output on PA11 & PA12 whatsoever.Not even in GPIO-Mode. Do I have to turn something specific of?I attached the full project. Kind regards

I have the STM32F401RE NUCLEO-64 Board and have gone over and over all the instructions but I must be missing something because my board doesn't seem to be read by my laptop. I have everything the way it says on the manual and elsewhere. I have the jumper JD1 off, The other 2 JD's are on and i don't get any reading on my laptop. It doesn't show up anywhere. Not on the ide or the mx programs. Nowhere. If anyone can please help and tell me what I'm doing wrong i really appreciate it. I am connected using a usb to micro i Believe it is or the micro b. Teh one red led stay on  the upper right one flashes red and the green led flashers and goes faster or slower depending on when i press the blue button. Thank u

Im using STM32F411E-Discovery (MB1115D) for my project and i need to power it from an external supply instead of USB. I have a external 5V supply but not sure how plug it in, should i inject 5V directly into 5V pin and ground to GND on 25x2 header? 

I've just received a brand new DK from Mouser and I've been trying to get the stock AI demo up and running. The camrea is connected, power is provided via a short USB-C cable on the 2nd USB connector (not the ST-Link one) and the jumpers changed over.When I launch the AI demo via the touchscreen, the camera feed appears but there appears to be noise on the display. The camera stream appears for a few seconds before the screen greys out.Video attached.

Hi, I've been trying to get a ground-up bare metal implementation of SPI working on one of the STM32 boards I own, but I can't seem to make progress on any of them. I lack an ST Link for the 405, so I can't step through my program and see how the registers are configured sadly, so I figured I'd ask here to see if anyone has experience doing something similar. I've attached the relevant GPIO and SPI c code to this post, as well as the main function for my project. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Hello, using STMCubeProgramme, STLINK-V3MINIE does not recognize an STM32G031F8P6, while an ST32MF411CEU6 is recognized. The voltage is read on both boards: 3.28V. What can I do to get the STM32G031F8P6 to be recognized ?

Hello ST Community,I’m currently working with the STM32H750B-DK development board and I’m facing an issue with UART communication through external pins.My goal is to communicate between the STM32H750B-DK and another external controller using UART (not via the Virtual COM Port over USB).Here’s what I have done so far:I have configured USART3 (TX = PB10, RX = PB11) in STM32CubeMX for asynchronous communication.I also tried USART2 (TX = PD5, RX = PD6), which are available on the STMod+ connector.The code builds and runs successfully.I can transmit data successfully via VCP (USB) and see it on the PC serial monitor.However, when I connect a TTL-to-USB converter or logic analyzer to PB10/PB11 or PD5/PD6, I do not see any UART activity.I have verified the pin configuration in CubeMX and ensured no alternate functions are conflicting.It seems like the USART2/USART3 pins might not be physically routed to the external connectors on the STM32H750B-DK board, or they may be multiplexed with other

Hello I am working on Customized board developed using STM32H755ZIT6 microcontroller. I have initialized UART first and it was working fine. Than In the same project I initialized SPI and tested back the UART and now uart is not working I used different pin configuration and Different DMA setting for both but still same problem is there UART is not working. But this code works fine on the NUCLEO H755ZIT6 board

I have the STM32H747I-DISCO, and am interested in connecting a larger touch display. What possibilities are there? What limit is there on display resolution? Could a 2560 x 1600 display be used for example (I do not need video. I just need larger physical format, higher resolution, and low frequency update in real time)? Where are the critical choke points on display resolution (apart from the obvious video memory)? MB1166? Elsewhere? What about connectors? Firstly there is CN1 a 60 pin connector on the back of the LCD daughterboard MB1166 which plugs into CN15 on the main DISCO board - is this a standard MIPI connector or arbitrary to this device? HIWe have purchased few STM32H757 Eval board for initial evaluation. We received the boardsWe have generated code using STM32CubeMX and added just GPIO configs.(PK3,PK4,PK5 as outputs) and flashed code. it was working. we disconnected powersupply and connected back from then led's not toggling and also any code not flashing.and the output is No device found on the target. what may be the reason, how to overcome this. even tried in STM32CubeIDE still no luck.STMicroelectronics ST-LINK GDB server.
