STM32 MCUs Boards and hardware tools

Hello ST community,I am trying to create a USB connection between my NUCLEO-STM32F303RE board and my computer. The datasheet indicates that configuring the USB port for this user device purpose is possible. However, when I received the board, I realized it only had one USB port. Naturally, that port should be reserved for the ST-Link and there would be none left for the user device.The thing is even STM32CubeMX proposes the USER DEVICE middleware for this board, so I don't feel like I misunderstood the datasheet.My question is the following : Is it possible that the ST-Link and the USB user device share the same USB port ? If so, how to activate the usb user device properly ?I haven't found this problem anywhere else. If someone could tell me if I am not understanding something, it would be helpful.Thanks.

Hey, I am new posting to this forum!I am planning to utilize the above mentioned boards in combination in order to accomplish a tiny, hand-held appliance controlling a stepper motor, carrying out measurements at positions and storing the data to a USB-stick.I have purchased the above items and the manual to the IHM says "can be connected to any Nucleo board". But can it be connected to this discovery board as well?I took the manual of the discovery, exported the pin list to Excel (took me a lot of time!) and see that only few of the pins on P1 and P2 are unused internally. I may now try to disable the RAM and thus get suifficient pins free. But I feel uncomfortable to connect periphery to a "sleeping memory".But still it seems to be quite a challenge to find pins with the extra functions I need and map them to the IHM board. Hello all,  I made a custom board with a STM32U031 and measure the standby and standby+RTC current. Hi everyone,I’m planning to buy an STM32 development board to start learning FreeRTOS. I have experience with bare-metal firmware development, primarily on TI C2000 DSPs and PIC32 MCUs, but I have no prior experience with STM32.My goal is to first learn RTOS concepts and then move on to interfacing with peripherals like I2C, SPI, and CAN.Right now, I’m considering the STM32L4 Discovery Kit IoT Node (B-L475E-IOT01A) because it has onboard sensors and and looks to have a wide FreeRTOS support.Would this be a good choice for a beginner with no prior STM32 experience, or is there another STM32 board that would be better suited for learning FreeRTOS?Any recommendations or insights from experienced STM32 developers would be greatly appreciated!Thanks in advance!

Hi, Currently using a STM32H743X Eval kit ...it has the 6" screen on it.  I've check in the CAD files for the EVAL kit but its got the gerbers BOM ect.. but no complete CAD ... as in something we can import into solidworks , so were able to model bits around it. Who do i ask ? has anybody done it already ? Thanks in advance 

Hi,While using the SPI2 for transmitting a data in STM32F302R8, the transmitting data reflects in the DATA register only in the CPOL = 0(Low) and CPHA = 0(1st edge). the objective of this particular project was to transmit data frames from stm32h750dbk(discovery kit) to stm32g491re(nucleo)it is debugging and creating live expression for both of the data types in receiving and transmit end of board i have not connected any transceiver between them because it has inbuilt fdcan ports i am attaching both the codes for g4 and h7 the picture of hardware and the live expression result when debugged separately 

Hello, I have a Brushless motor driver PCBA quantity of 70 such drivers and according to their original designThere are 3 units of THT Electrolytic capacitor 100V 220uf on itAnd it has 6 units of Power Mosfet 100V 107ABecause it is 100V, it can be used with a motor of up to 75VAnd I don't need 75V, I'm going to use 36VAnd I checked about THT Electrolytic capacitor 63V 220ufAnd also regarding Power Mosfet 63V 100AAnd according to the Pitch, both the capacitor and the Mosfet of the 63V are compatible with the PCBI'm asking this question because I want to save money and not just buy products that give a much larger consumption than I need and I don't even use that amount. My question is, can I solder the two things I mentioned to the board?Thank you

Hi,I´m trying to get a STM32H747 Discovery board together with USB Host to operate at 1.8V VDD.At 3.3V VDD_MCU USB is working fine!What I´ve done:1. Removed jumper on JP3 and supplied VDD_MCU with 1.8V.2. Removed SB10 and supplied VDD33USB with 3.3V.3. Removed R33 and supplied USB_VDDIO (pin 32 on USB3320) with 1.8V.4. Verified that R136 is not mounted and R137 is mounted.What is working:A. The MCU is working fine at 1.8V. I´m running at 400MHz at voltage scale 1 (using the SMPS).B. VBUS is started (USB3320 controls U2) and LD7 lights up.C. When a usb device is inserted, its looks like its recognized. I'm trying to graft an SD card onto the U5G round display development board.  CN9 brings out all of the control and data lines for SDMMC2.The problem that I am seeing is that the SD device will not initialize (MX_SDMMC2_Init) due to a timeout in HAL_SD_Init -> HAL_SD_InitCard -> SD_powerON -> SDMMC_CmdGoIdleStateCurrently I have VCC to the card plugged into 3V3, ground, clock, and 47K pull-ups to VCC on CMD and the 4 data lines.I've tried using level shifters to use the 1V8 signalling on the processor side and 3V3 signalling on the SD card side, 4-bit SD, 4-bit SDIO, 1-bit SD, and 1-bit SD with the signals simply pulled up to 3V3. All give the same result, timeout on Go-Idle-State.The card is formatted and works properly on a PC. I've got test programs on a F479 Discovery board working with SD cards under FileX, and I tried making the hookup as close as possible to a U575 EV or the 429 Disco, but this U5 is not cooperating.Given that this board uses 1V8 levels and SD card

I have a STLINK-V3SET and I'm trying to comunicate with a STM32F103C8T6 (Blue Pill). I'm sucessful only when the board is externally powered by it's USB port. The STLINK-V3SET SWD or JTAG connectors have a T_VCC pin, which I now realized are an input. The connectors' description in the user manual:Searching in the forum I've found this post (Solved: ST-Link V3 Set is not detecting the target MCU (ST... - STMicroelectronics Community). We both had the same problem and someone answered him saying that "official STLINKs don't provide supply, but you can customize it". 1) Do STLINK-V3SET really DON'T have a 3,3V power output?2) If is possible, how can you customize it to supply the 3v3 output?I'm new to stm32 (less than a week) so I would very much appreaciate any corrections if I said something wrong. 

found that the VDDSD pin is in the state of 2.5V during the test, when I removed the stm32f373 from the PCB, the voltage at the pad is 3.3v ,but when I soldered the chip back on, it was about 2.5V again，I would appreciate it if you could help 

I just bought this board and actually i have no idea what type it is. In the box there was product card for Nucleo-32 and that is definitely no Nucleo-32. Somebody know what exactly this is? Please Help!

I have an STM32 (SPI slave) connected to a BeagleBone Black (SPI master).SPI Master Configuration (BBB):SCK = 15 MHzMode = SPI Mode 0Data Size = 16 bitsThe STM32 is attempting to transmit 2 bytes of data to the BBB using interrupt mode. However, HAL_SPI_ErrorCallback() is triggered, and the error code returned is 32 (HAL_SPI_ERROR_FLAG).    HAL_SPI_Transmit_IT(&hspi2,(uint8_t*)spi_tx,1);   Even when the BBB is idle, running the STM32 results in this error. Any insights on what might be causing this?~AJ 

Hi,I've a board, now a nucleo-u575zi-q but i'm waiting for a custum boad based on same MCU. I need this serie for the low power functionalities. In next phase of project , in this board i need an ethernet port where run web and tcp server. I found some good examples about these features but are all based on different series of MCU. There are examples based on STM32F and H series, both have a specific set of pins to manage the ethernet connection defined as ETH block.  They use Azure or Freertos with or without Lwip in conjunction with Lan8742 component as physical interface. My question is: can i use the same eth components, hw and sw, also with STM32U5 series? The functionalities used in eth micro block can be replicated, are only gpio pins to configure?, in U series ? In this way i can start from examples already present or i need to change MCU to have eth port on board? Thanks

Hello,I’m using the STEVAL-STWIN KT1B to log data. I flashed HSDatalog onto it and used the ST BLE Sensor Classic iOS app to log data and save it to an SD card.After acquisition, when I check the AcquisitionInfo.json file, I notice that "start_time" and "end_time" are always empty. I’d like to know how to automatically set "start_time" to the current timestamp when I press the Start button to begin logging.In the iOS app, I tried going to Settings → Nucleo Settings → Set node time and clicked to synchronize the mobile and node time. A window pops up saying "Sync Time - Sync Done", but after logging, "start_time" is still empty.Is there something I’m missing?Thanks!Best, Anthony 

I am currently working on a bootloader using the NUCLEO-F446RE development board, which consists of a program that erases sectors 3-7 of the MCU's flash memory to create space for a program. When run my bootloader's erase function and then attempt to re-program the board using the "debug" button in the STM32CubeIDE, I get the following error on the console, and the board refuses to be reprogrammed:STMicroelectronics ST-LINK GDB server. So I'm having this issue with a Nucleo STM32H563ZI board regarding the USART3 that connects to the VCP ST-Link port.If I enable the USART3 at 115200 baud rate, and keep all the default parameters and, in the clock configuration, if I do not change any clock parameters, except to configure the HCLK to 250Mhz, then the USART3 Clock Mux will use PCLK1 and also will output a clock frequency of 250Mhz.So basically all defaults without too much changes except the HCLK.In this situation, the USART3 works just fine, meaning that I can see correctly the data that is output by the USART with a terminal program. So far so good.Nevertheless if I change the main clock source to the 24Mhz crystal, hence use the HSE and still keeping the HCLK at 250Mhz, the USART Clock Mux will still also be at 250MHz (still using PCLK1), BUT this time the USART output is just garbage meaning that the baudrate calculation is just wrong.If I drop the USART clock mux to 4Mhz, for example everything just starts to work

I need to create 4 different PWM signals at the same time with different frequencies, I believe this means I need 4 different timers that are connected to a GPIO port, I currently have NucleoF767ZI and an STM32f746g-DISCO, Nucleo only appears to have TIM1 on GPIO ports, STM32 one does have enough but I just can't get it to work cause either it doesn't generate anything or the screen goes blank

Hello ST Team,I'm trying to bring up I3C using a NUCLEO-H563ZI with XNUCLEO-IKS4A1 to boards stress I3C, and I'm using AN5879, which was thought for NUCLEO-H503RB and X-NUCLEO-IKS01A3 boards.Regardless of the above, I still believe we should be able to work with these boards as they are I3C compatible, and the XNUCLEO-IKS4A1 is marked as the new alternative for the X-NUCLEO-IKS01A3 board.I'm following AN5879 to introduce myself to I3C (and the entire STM32CubeIDE ecosystem), and I have found issues adding the extra code stated on page 31 (software settings for dynamic addressing).Where precisely should these lines be introduced? For the four code blocks, I can identify the second and the fourth ones belonging to the main.c file. What about the first and third blocks? For the first, it seems I should create a new header file stm32_i3c_desc_target1.h, but even when creating this file and adding a reference in main.h the compiler struggles to find "TargetDesc

We are planning to use STM32H753X in one of our design. For JTAG interface I can see two options 5 pin and 4 pin JTAG. Is STM32H753 supports 4 pin JTAG? If yes, how to manage NJTRST pin? Shall i connected NJTRST pin to NJRST?  what is the use of 5 pin JTAG over 4 pin JTAG?
