STM32 MCUs Boards and hardware tools

Problem:The USB communication between STM32F401RC and MacOS v14.3.1 (Sonoma) doesn't work when the MCU is running on a bare metal, but it works when the MCU runs on FreeRTOS. It does "connect" on bare metal, but sending any USB MIDI messages from the app on MacOS to MCU doesn't have any expected effect on the MCU. We are using:- STM32F4xx HAL Driver v1.8.0- usb_device, usb_desc v1.0_Cube What have we tried:1. The same problem occurs with STM32F401RB.2. The USB communication works fine between STM32F103 (bare metal) and MacOS v14.3.13. The USB communication works fine between STM32F401 (bare metal) and MacOS v12.7 (Monterey).4. The USB communication works fine between STM32F401 running on Free RTOS (doesn't work when on bare metal) and MacOS v14.3.1.5. We are aware that from MacOS Ventura a permission has to be given for USB accessory connection, but this is not applicable to Mac Studio that we are using.6. HelloI have configured TIM2 CH1 with PWM Generation on my board STM32F412G-DISCO. I capture the rising and falling edges by other board NUCLEO-G071RB, using interrupt input capture for both edges (one channel for each edge).Now I try to change the period of the PWM in the F412G board. However, sometimes the signal stops (I capture it using an oscilloscope too).The code I use to change the period: fanCount=(int)(fanPeriod/1000*clock/(htim2.Init.Prescaler+1));__HAL_TIM_SET_AUTORELOAD(&htim2,fanCount); Do anyone have an idea what is the problem?

Hi,I' was looking at this board thinking it is one of the newer ones. I think of the STM32F7 as the older and STM32H7 as the newer ones.  The reason I'm asking is because I want a STM32H7 kit with an (micro) SD socket and an audio codec. This kit seemed ideal until I checked the audio codec ... Cirrus CS42L51... its datasheet says "discontinued" so I'm thinking this SMT32H7 kit may be old? I already have a SMT32F746 disco board and it is ok but I run into some annoying bugs (nicely documented here).Thanks

Hi,I want to use the DMA FIFO for UART2 on the STM32H753ZI discovery board.DMA in direct mode works, but sometimes I have almost concurrent events that need to be transmitted ASAP over the same UART (a few ms delay is no problem). It seems sometimes an UART message is not send because the last message was still sending.Each message is exactly four bytes, so I would try to use the FIFO function on the UART DMA. I would like to set the burst size to four bytes so each message of four bytes would be send immediatly, except if the DMA UART is still blocked by the former message, which would give a slight but not problematic delay. I'd rather have a slight delay than a completely missed message.I'm a bit confused by the DMA request settings As specified by AN4031 I would set:threshold: 1/4data width: byteBurst Size: 4 IncrementIs it correct that this would give me a burst size of 4 bytes and that each message of 4 bytes would be send immediatly by the function HAL_UART_Transmit_DMA(&hua

Hello,I recently purchased STM32 F4VE  trying to print text on SWV but noting shows at port 0, shared all the necessary information below.Here's what i did :I am using generic st-linkv2 (version : 3.14.5) and STM32F407VET6 is in Normal mode (not DFU)Using STM32CubeIDE, I created a project by selecting the STM32F407VET6TR board.In the .ioc device configuration, I changed the clock to 84 MHz.In main.c, inside the int main -> while loop, I added a printf statement to print "Hello."In syscalls.c added required code for ITM.In the debugger configuration, I enabled SWV (84 MHz).Before starting debugging, I opened the SWV ITM Data Console, selected port 0 in the settings, and clicked on the red button to start.Nothing prints on ITM console.Despite these steps, nothing prints on the ITM console. I am using STM32CubeMX and keil 5 to program my Nucleo-32 board. When I try to download firmware packages in STM32CubeMX, it shows the connection lost issue. Here is the snapshot attached. I have tried to log in but again it shows connection lost error. What should be the solution to this problem?

Hello I got two boards dead within one day. I used the first board for a while and it worked until I started to communicate via USART/RS232. After I faced with such a problem, I replaced the board with a second one and immediately got same result.Description:The eval board was powered via STLINK-V3E USB (CN23). JP10 in corresponding position, no other jumpers are reconfigured. No connection to RS232 at the beginning. LCD display showed a nice picture, IDE successfully uploaded and debugged both M4 and M7 etc.Power off and on at least with the first board did not change the situation as well.Then I connected it to a PC com port (USART1 via CN2). Hello, Recently I have purchased an evaluation board "NUCLEO-G071RB" to program/debug our custom board using ST-LINK. I am reaching out to seek assistance regarding some persistent flash errors I've been encountering with the STM32L496VE microcontroller. In my application, I'm utilizing the bootloader to write data onto the second bank of the STM32L496VE, which boasts 512Kb of flash memory. However, during the writing process, I intermittently encounter the following flash errors: FLASH_FLAG_PROGERR, FLASH_FLAG_PGAERR, and FLASH_FLAG_PGSERR. To mitigate these errors, I have been meticulously following the process of erasing the memory before initiating the write operation. Despite this precaution, the errors persist, albeit inconsistently.  Hi @Peter BENSCH  I have a query regarding voltage compatibility of Quad single-pole single-throw analog switch from Nexperia 74HCT4066.The switch part is voltage compatible with STM32G431MB/ME series when analyzing VOH VIH VIL VOL relationships with ST MCU. This logic of analog switch part is TTL and the STM32G431 is CMOS logic. Dear All,Just now I have plugged my ST-Link v3 Minie in. Updated it via CubeIDE. All looks good.I might have overseen something (scanned the user manual), but the BTB (CN2) connector on my ST-Link v3 Minie gives 0V voltage between T_GND(6) and  T_VCC (10) on the bottom side.I was expecting something around 3.3V.Or does my target board need to supply this voltage? Did I miss something? Solder Bridge?Help is much appreciated.Ps: CN4 STDC14 gives 2.7V on pins 3 and 1.

What is the difference between ST-LINK/V2-1 and V2? Where can I buy v2-1?Or are you buying v2 and updating the firmware?

Hello.I am creating my own board with an STM32, and would like to also include my own custom ST LINK V3 on the board itself. Is it possible to get your hands on the firmware for ST-LINK V3? Hi,I've been using a winbond w25q128 external flash for storing bin file for a project and flashing the code from there to my controller. I'm using an stm32l412 as my controller. I've been through many tutorials for developing external loader files, but all of them are specifically for h7. I managed to create an external loader, but when I use cube programmer to upload the bin file, sector erase and chip erase are shown not working, Is this something related to the stldr file I have generated? After connecting the USB cable, my stm32 f446re nucleo board gets very hot. Also, I cannot load code into it because ide programs do not see the card. When I apply voltage from the VIN pin, there is no heating. where is the problem, could it be in the stlink?
