Hi, I am using STM32U083 for one of our project. We are using the I2C peripheral to communicate with NFC dynamic tag through I2C.In STM32U0 datasheet I found that the I2C pins SCL and SDA are 5V tolerent pins.We need the I2C to work independently of the MCU VDD voltage ( MCU VDD 2.5v and I2C pullup resistors to 3.6v).the slave NFC tag will work at 3.6, but I am  not sure of the MCU. Since I2C are open drain and if we meet the Vih and Vil, my thought is it should work.If I can get some confirmation if this is okay or can have any drawbacks or problems will be very helpful.Thanks. 

I’m working with the STM32U575 and I found in the datasheet that the Flash programming time for a 128-bit (16-byte) write is:118 µs in normal mode48 µs in burst mode(From Table 86: Flash memory characteristics)Before finalizing our design, I need clarification on how these timing values apply in practice:Is the 128-bit programming time the total time per write operation, or is there additional overhead (such as “opening/closing a page” or internal setup time) that needs to be added?If I write multiple 128-bit words sequentially, do I pay the 118/48 µs each time, or is there any extra per-sequence delay?Are there any alignment requirements beyond 128-bit (16-byte) alignment?Do these programming times assume the Flash page is already erased?We plan to evaluate whether the internal Flash write speed will meet our throughput needs, so I want to be sure I understand all timing components correctly.Thanks!

Heyho,question about FDCAN and repeating / timed transmission of the same messages:(this is neither about TT CAN nor auto re-transmission, but e.g. for messages which need to be sent every 100 ms repeatedly and "manually")After the first setting of the TX buffer or TX FIFO, and after the first successful transmission, is the TX buffer (incl. the 2 "control" words) somehow altered / changed?If not, can the same message simply be sent again by setting the corresponding bit in the register TXBAR ?

Hello people,I have been developing a firmware to be used in the stm32g051. One of the features is the ability to respon to request to get information from the uC. I used dma for the uart1 tx and rx.  I was happily developing and testing the new feature added into the stm32g051. Then when I use it without the debugger, it is unable to stablish communications between the PC and the microcontroller. The curious thing is the fact that I remove the debugger -I disconnect it- and the communication still works. It is the "reset" without debugger what is unable to stablish the connection.  I change the clocks following the several  post regarding this problem but the solution still eludes me.

Hello,we have to use the STM32H573 in the 80 Pin WLCSP with temperature Range 3 (to 125°C). So STM32H573MIY3Q was chosen. Due to a mistake we didn't recognized that the internal LDO can't be used. Now we have no space for placing additional components as the inductor to use the SMPS. The STM is on a tiny board which is connected on a baseboard on this is more space for components.So now we have two options: Use an external LDO on the tiny board, we have 1,8V spare to burn down. How much current shall we consider (250 MHz). The maximum IDD ist stated with 125,2 mA, does any additional current has to be added?Use an external DCDC on the baseboard. In both cases the Questions are:How has the pins of SMPS to be configured (by hardware) to shut down the SMPS appropriately?Do we have to use the VCAP as an input?If STM staff is reading this please get in touch with us immediately. I am working with the Nucleo-STM32F753ZI board and using the internal OPAMP peripheral. The supply is 3.3 V, and according to the datasheet the OPAMP output should swing close to the rails, but in my case the maximum output I can get is only around 2.4 V.Has anyone faced this issue on STM32F7 series?Is there any configuration, calibration, or internal routing limitation that restricts the OPAMP output range on this board?Any guidance on how to achieve the full output swing (near 3.3 V) would be helpful.

Hy, I received the STM32N6 DK Kit, switched it on - and it crashes immediately. All demos run smoothly, but as soon as I start the AI demo, the display turns grey after approx 2 seconds. I power the device over USB port with my 65W Laptop Power supply, jumper JP2 set to 3-4 (5V_USB)When running the DCMIPP_ContinuousMode_FSBL example project, I see a stable, smooth camera image, so apparently no connection issues to the camera.Any hints?Best regardsHarald

I am working on a project using STM32N6570-DK. I now have a big problem with (1) how to run my code in a Flash and (2) how to connect the ST-LINK to stm32cube ide.I created a project “AYA” in cube IDE . Cube IDE asked if it is FSBL project or application project. I chose application, and all my work after are done within AYA_appliI finished the coding and testing from debug version to release version. Both with ST-LINK connected (with is integrated in the DK), and boot1/boot2 keys are set =00. My code runs correctly.TROUBLES came after the FLASH: I used STM32CubeProgrammer to write my .bin file to the -dk board. boot0/boot1=11,I chose this external bootloader  (MX66UW1G45G_STM32N6570-DK ) Erasing the full chipWrite my code (start address =0x07000000) to the flash and “verify successfully”Now, I switch boot0/boot1=00, and press the RESET button. Hello,I'm trying to test FW update over I2C using RPI as host and STM32L432 nucleo board as slave on port I2C1 which according AN2606 (table 152) should be available. I've connected 4.7k pullups on PA6 + PA7 pins and perform NRST to 0 and BOOT0 to 1 and remove NRST pin. In this setup I perform i2cdetect on RPI and I'm getting i2c transfer timeouts for all addresses. When reset STM32 32 board i2cdetect command on RPI return empty table. Is that setup feasible or am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

Hi there,I'm starting to use the NUCLEO-H533RE board to evaluate the H5 device family.RM0481 has some errors on the PLL configuration:Fig.55 on page 461 shows a VCO range 0 between 128 and 560 MHz, but the description of bit 5 of register PLL1CFGR (page 492) says 192 to 836 MHz, which is quite different. Which one is the correct one, please ?Section 11.8.12 name is incorrect page 497 (PLL1 written instead of PLL2).Regarding the best PLL setup:For the PLL1RGE possibilities, it select the input frequency range: between 1 and 2, between 2 and 4, between 4 and 8 and between 8 and 16 MHz. What would be the best choice for a input frequency of 8 MHz: between 4 and 8 or between 8 and 16 ? And if possible, explain why that is.Thank you,Kraal

Hello folks,I am investigating the Video Encoder on the STM32N6 and have been working through the reference project (VENC_SDCard_ThreadX).The user manual (RM0486) is very vague on detailing the Video Encoder, and lists over 100 pages of registers which appear to be referencing other Software Registers (VENC_SWREGx):There are approximately 500 of registers like these, and it doesn't really say much. Looking through the `asicRegisterDesc[]` structure in the Middleware has been useful to try and see what the registers are used for, but still is nowhere near the amount of detail that is needed.Any further info would be greatly appreciated.Kindest regards,

Hi everyone!I figure out that Type III Format Interface Descriptor is generated automatically on STM32L476RG, and this use encoder format to transmit audio (Not PCM). Frame size vary an do mot match PCM packet sizes, meaning that transmitting  raw PCM using Format Type III result as no audio output.However, apparently those problems doesn't occur using Format |Type I Interface descriptor.Any idea  about how can to solve this problem? Thanks.

Hi,I noticed that for the FLASH PECR register there is a discrepancy between the RM and the CMSIS files provided by ST.The RM includes information about the `NZDISABLE` bit (which is not present in the CMSIS file `stm32l010x6.h`). On the other hand, the macro `FLASH_PECR_HALF_ARRAY` is provided in the CMSIS files but is not described in the RM.Best,msemegen

How to develop STM32C091 series, use stlink V2 or stlink V3?

Hi! I'm confused about the wiring for some of the pins on the STM32H7S3I8T6:  Does the full-speed USB connection require an external high speed oscillator?There's a GPIO that senses VBUS from USB called "OTG_FS_VBUS." Currently, we have it pulled up to VBUS so that it will read high when USB is connected. However when USB isn't connected, it is left floating. Would that be ok? Thank you so much for the help!

I'm currently trying to configure a project based on an STM32U375CGUxQ, but I can only "choose" the LDO, even though the package clearly shows the SMPS pins:I'm using the STM32U3 package version 1.2.0, STM32CubeIDE 1.19.0, build 25607_20250703_0907.  Are there any prerequisites to being able to use the SMPS, and if so, what are they? NB: There doesn't seem to be a "Power saving mode" under the PWR category:  

Hello,I have custom PCB based on STM32H563ZIT6 with external memory MX25L51245G(W25N01xx in schem.) and Riverdi display. I use ExternalLoader from https://github.com/cturvey/stm32extldr/tree/4dcb141b9cf6da2ee3fddf154d073bb6218a52e5/h5_mx25l51245g. Problem is that I cannot connect to the memory in CubeProgrammer. My aim is to completely program all code, images, texts and everything from TouchGFXDesigner I plan to use for pretty complex GUI so ex. mem. is necessary for me. I have attached my code and schematics to pcb.  Things that seem to be right and working:- OCTOSPI1 configuration in CubeMX ( same as mentioned ex. loader need it )one HW problem is that CS pin is attached to PA15 pin which is not intented for OCTOSPI1 settings, so I put wire around 8cm from PA15(reset state) to PG6(same pin as display uses for CS, is it ok? display is disconnected at the moment) through 2k2 pull up resistor. Also tried to increase clock prescaler to 4-8 to stabilize connection. May thi

In the linker script provided by STM for STM32G474RETx, the memory section is:MEMORY { CCMSRAM (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x10000000, LENGTH = 32K RAM (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x20000000, LENGTH = 128K FLASH (rx) : ORIGIN = 0x8000000, LENGTH = 512K } But in the reference manual RM0440 section 2.4 page 88  it states that:Category 3 devices feature up to 128 Kbytes SRAM:• 80 Kbytes SRAM1 (mapped at address 0x2000 0000)• 16 Kbytes SRAM2 (mapped at address 0x2001 4000)• 32 Kbytes CCM SRAM (mapped at address 0x1000 0000 and end of SRAM2)I'm confused as to why the RAM is declared as 128K when that's the combined total of SRAM1 + SRAM2 + CCMSRAM, and there's also CCNSRAM declared separately. Is it so that RAM covers all SRAM but you can also place specific things in the CCMSRAM section? 

Hi I am looking into using STM32F446RCTx for my design, which includes 2 x USB FS 2.0 (1 x Host + 1 x Device). Hence need to provide an external HSE. I want to use an Oscillator, meaning I setup the HSE as "Bypass Clock Source" .With this setup I planned to use the pin 6 (PH1_OSC_OUT) as a GPIO for other functionalities. But the STM32CubeMX setting does not let me do this.I see that this pin will be (OSC_OUT) High Impedance as per RM0390 - Page 120. Am I right in say that I MUST leave this pin NC and cannot free up to use as GPIO?Thanks.  

Hello there I am struggling with receiving interrupts on my microcontroller project. I am currently developing a CAN bus logging device; the following code therefore sets up the CAN peripheral in silent mode. I test my device in a CAN network with two other devices that are constantly communicating with each other. I have verified that the CAN messages appear at the CAN Rx pin of my MCU using an oscilloscope.However, my CAN Rx interrupts won't fire.
