I am trying to use the built-in bootloader to flash a new firmware onto my MCU (STM32H723). Unfortunately, I cannot get any reaction from the MCU when trying to connect to it, and I am struggling to diagnose which step is going wrong.Short version of my steps:I pull BOOT0 high & NRST low (before this point, the MCU is running the normal firmware code)I release NRST, the MCU starts up again (attaching the ST-Link debugger, I confirmed that the code being execute is around 0x1FF00000, i.e. the MCU is somewhere in the bootloader code)I try to connect to the MCU using the STM32CubeProgrammer, set to UART (MCU pins PA9/PA10), baud 9600 (tried everything up to 115200), even parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, flow control off. Whatever settings I try, I always get: Port configuration: parity = even, baudrate = 9600, data-bit = 8, stop-bit = 1.0, flow-control = off Timeout error occure

I have an External Loader Project made for STM32G0/G4/L4.I ported it to STM32U5: all the functions work fine when debugged from STM32CubeIDE (so the connections are ok). With the STM32CubeProgrammer the .stldr file is recognized but the Read/Write/SectoreErase operations fails due to "Init Function fail". Any suggestion will be appreciated!

I've already become familiar with the NUCLEO-C071 by creating some additional hardware (display, encoder, etc.). Now, I want to design a board using the smaller 32-pin version. However, in this smaller version, I find some differences that I don't know how to address (I have read the datasheet thoroughly multiple times but cannot find any answers):1) In the 64-pin version, pin 6 is the VBAT to connect a battery or a supercapacitor to maintain the RTC operation in case of power loss. Where has it gone in the 32-pin version?2) In the 64-pin version, both the quartz for the CPU and for the RTC can be mounted. Can you confirm that in the 32-pin version, the CPU only works without quartz? Even for managing USB?Thank you to anyone who can help me.Luca.

Hello,we are developing a device with STM32F765VIHx.We are experiencing a big issue with USB (USB-Device Full-Speed), when connected to a Windows PC.The USB is configured to be a Virtual ComPort.Windows sometimes recognizes the device, sometimes the process fails (in device descriptor phase).We tried several ways to fix the issue (like detecting when the devices goes into USBD_STATE_SUSPENDED mode, de-init and re-initing the USB...sometimes this works, most of the times it doesn't).Note: the problem never occurs when connected to Ubuntu. Since we were using SMT32Cube FW_F7 V.1.17.0, we tried to move to V.1.17.2, hoping that might solve the problem.Alas, after updating the firmware, Windows doesn't recognizes the device at all:- the PC doens't make any sound at all when the device is plugged in- the Device Manager tree flashes but nothing new is addedNota again: The same device, if connected to Ubuntu,

I am using the STM32H562ZGT to generate center-aligned PWM with TIM1. Since I also want to use TIM1 for 20kHz periodic interrupts, I set the Period so that overflow/underflow occurs every 40kHz and set the Repetition Count to 1. This ensures that UEV occurs at the underflow timing every 20kHz, which I confirmed to be working as expected by combining an oscilloscope and GPIO Output. Here, I want to set the center alignment of the PWM to High based on the overflow timing (which is offset by 40kHz from the above interrupt) rather than the underflow timing. However, when I used PWM mode 2 and observed the PWM output on the oscilloscope, the High period was 0.6-0.7 microseconds earlier than expected. For example, with TIM1 generating 40kHz using 6249 counts at 250MHz, if I specify CH1 to be active at 3124 counts or more, the time from the underflow interrupt to PWM active was 11.8 microseconds. Hello, I have a question regarding write access to a PSRAM connected via XSPI in memory mapped mode on a STM32H7RS. I do not completely understand if having the PSRAM memory mapped makes it available to the ECU as if it is internal RAM, meaning that it can be used to perform read and write operation of any size. Reading some docs (e.g. the reference manual), it seems that every aspect of PSRAM management in memory mapped mode is handled automatically by the MCU configuring parameters like the CSBOUND chip select bound. I am interfacing a 5V PWM signal with an STM32F030K6T6 MCU using PB0. According to the datasheet this pin is 5V Tolerant. In the past, regardless of a pin's "tolerance" to 5V I have always used a level shifter to change this 5V signal to a 3.3V signal before it gets to the MCU; "Just to be safe". This application I am trying to limit the number of parts on the PCB for both size and cost reasons. Testing on a Nucleo board seems to work and the MCU seems to tolerate this well, but for long term use in the field is it better to run this signal through a level shifter or does it not matter since the pin is "5V Tolerant"?

I am using uart on STM32L07 to simulate 1-wire for operating ds28e22. 1-bit timing is more than 1us and less than 2us. When I set baudrate at 666666 which meant 1 bit timing was 1.5us, I found the rising edge was too slow (more than 1 us). So I want to know what's maximum rate for uart under half-duplex mode.thanks.

I'm building upon this example, which works flawlessly, but I don't want to format the memory every time the code runs. Hello everbody,I'm using the STM32L4KC Nucleo board. Accidentially I discovered something that I cannot understand so far.I have a small application that is reading sensor data on I2C. So far everything works. When I cause by purpose some interrupts (using the button on that board) I realize that the application is not longer able to read from I2C. It simply stops after expecting a ACK from the sensor chip at the very first sensor reading (ID of the sensor). Further resets on NRST don't fix the problem. Physically disconnecting the sensor (therefore power off/on) don't fix the problem. Power down/up the Nucelo board don't fix the problem. The only thing that reliably fix the problem is to reprogramm the STM32L4KC. I saw something in the erata that says don't programm the flash durint power down. However, I'm not writing to the flash at all. Even more strange to me is the dependency on the programming tool. The problem descri

Hello, I have been trying to implement IAP in my device. But my code gets stuck in "UART_WaitOnFlagUntilTimeout". For once I was able to transfer the binary file of the new user application but later whenever I am trying to send the binary file it is getting stuck. We need support with the interrupt vector mapping for the STM32L010R8 SoC, specifically from the Boot area to the Application area (Flash/SRAM). We are currently developing a custom boot loader for the STM32L010R8 series and are not using the ROM-based boot loader. The issue we are encountering occurs when we jump from the Boot area (0x08000000 - 0x08001FFF) to the Application area (0x08002000). The interrupt vector table is not mapping correctly into the application flash area. We have tried two approaches: one is direct mapping to the Flash area, and the other is mapping to a specific RAM area. According to the .map file, the mapping appears correct, but during execution, the interrupts are not being triggered, and the code is not running as expected. Could you please provide support for this vector mapping issue? I have a question regarding the current consumption of MCU as when i configured peripherals as per my usage and test the current consumption in STM32CubeMX it shows 171mA average current. But in the datasheet the current consumption has different values. I want to know which current should we use for power budgeting. 

Hello,I am currently in the design phase of a new circuit board. Roughly speaking, it's about connecting an STM32H7 (e.g. STM32H753XI) via FMC to an SDRAM and an FPGA. To save me the level conversion for the FPGA, it would be easiest to supply the ARM controller with 1.8V and use a 1.8V LP-SDRAM device (e.g. MT48H16M32LFB5-6). Unfortunately, I cannot evaluate this scenario with any evaluation board that I know of.My question is, is there any information on how well LP-SDRAM works on a 1.8V powered STM32H7? Is there perhaps even a list of which memory is suitable?Many thanks for your help!
