Hi,    I'm working on root cause a Hard Fault issue on STM32H563. The application is a regular ping and response. The system has TrustZone enabled. When the hard fault happens, according to pushed stack info from psp_ns, the call happens inside a memchr function with some invalid char string address called from print function. I tried to step through the print function and hard fault always happened before I really get close to where the problem was reported. If I inspect the psp_ns info when hard fault happens during stepping through the code, it still shows exactly the same info ( issue in memchr with the same invalid pointer). This got me think the hard fault actually happened on the secure region. I also notice there is a value in psp_s, which shows 0x30007F88. I don't know how to view the stack info. I am also not sure if there is some memory conflict happened in this area since ETH DMA uses SRAM3 to process the data. Any suggestion how I can check what happene

Hi I am trying to commuicate between two boards through UART. One board is nucleof4 and other board is a processor. Im sending a data from nucleo to other board(where data gets displayed) through HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart1,(uint8_t*)"Connect",sizeof("Connect"),100); The problem that Im facing is data is getting  displayed on pressing reset button on nucleo several times. The communication is not smooth J25 connector as shown in image is where im interfacing my nucleo f446re with processor board.Thank you

I have 2 boards, basically identical except one has PHY KSZ8091RNA and the other has KSZ8091RND.Both use the STM32F429NIH6.The only difference I can find in the two PHYs is that I need to set to set the REFCLOCK bit in KSZ8091RNA's PHYC2 register.  With that bit both boards detect link properly.The KSZ8091RND board works, can transmit and receive Ethernet frames.The KSZ8091RNA board locks up when I try to flush the transmit FIFO by setting the FTF bit in the DMAOMR register.It is supposed to reset the transmit controller FIFO logic and be automatically cleared.It never gets cleared, and the MAC never receives or transmits any packets.I'm writing to the DMAOMR register and not writing again until that bit is cleared.With the KSZ8091RND the bit is cleared immediately.I verified that all registers are identical up until that point with the two PHYs, except for the REFCLOCK bit.The receive descriptors are set u

Hi Folks, I'm working on pattern generation on GPIO pins and I've done it successfully using bare-metal programming approach. Hello,      on an STM32F407 I am experiencing a Flash Erase/Write error. The odd things is that it happen only the first time after boot, the following times after the error I can write with no errors. But, if I erase and write in the Init phase, before the FreeRTOS tasks start, it always work.The write operation is performed by a state machine called from FREERTOS DefaultTask().The first state Erase the flash, the second state write a structure stored on RAM. I tried to change the size of the writed chunck (FLASH_TYPEPROGRAM_xxx) ant to use the HAL_FLASHEx_Erase() function but the problem persists.I get the error from the write phase but FLASH_Erase_Sector() does not return a status so I think the error could be in the erase phase.Any suggestion?Thank you  #define

We are using STM32F105VCT micro in our product from many years.In the recent hardwares, we have seen that input logic level is changing only with 200mv change.When the input voltage to any port pin is crossing 1.5 we are seeing as logic level 1, when input voltage reduces more than 1.3 volts we see it as logic level 0, only 200mv gap. This is causing smaller noise on the input pin causing edge detect triggers in the firmware. With our old batch of micros we see input logic level 1 at 1.7v and logic level 0 at 1.3v. So gap is 400mv As per the data sheet we should see gap 600mv approx between two logic levels Our VDD is 3.3 V (CMOS)As per this VIL max threshold should be 1.136VVH min threshold should be 1.833V There is a gap of 697mv theoretically.

HI everybody,Using the STM32F103 series, I was able to configure a single channel with DMA and get ADC data, but I was unable to analyze any data or do any while loop calculations for the moment. I simply increased a variable to see if it was updating. Hello.We are using PA3 pin as input with pin pull up enabled.Power consumption of the board is around 36 microamps when pin is not connected to ground.But when we connect PA3 to ground we have current increase to 74 microamps.I think that we have some current leakage from the pull up resistor to ground.How can we fix this?Thank you!

I use timer with input capture mode, to be able to measure time period of an optical encoder pulse. I experienced that measured value rarely is twice as the expected one. I tried with different timer prescaler values, but same problem remained. Suspected that interrupt service or input trigger signal is not proper, so I checked both of them (see measurement results below).To check ISR, I put a gpio toggle function into the callback for a given pin I measured.In ideal case, input signal should give a periodic pulse signal with a frequency value twice as the gpio signal made by the toggle pin function inside the callback. It seems callback function is not called in every input. I did not experience if that skip should emerge in a periodical way. Hi, I am using STM32G0B1 MCU for my project. Is it true each STM32 IC has its own unique ID. For STM32G4 product has the UID facility. Is it 96-bit ID for all the stm32 families or is it different. Which manual has to be referred for this?If yes can I use that for serial number for the product.Which memory location is it stored?Can read that from IC and send it through UART? Can anyone suggest. Hi All,Not so long ago ST has selected Microsoft ThreadX as one of its its strategic technologies.In my opinion it is a very good RTOS. The problem is that it was supported by Microsoft only, no other community project integrates with it, e.g. mcuboot etc. It is almost like ThreadX does not exist.Now, Microsoft ThreadX is Eclipse-ThreadX. It is open-source, MIT licensed but last Github commit was made 6 months ago. The latest version is 6.4.1 while ST is still stacked with version 6.2.0.No significant ST 's commitment is visible. It does not look good - regretfully, I need to say.Am I missing something?I need to decide whether I should use it in my project or abandon while I still have a choice.

Hi The MCU is a STM32H735I will use the UART3 port for combined debug output and command line interfaceSo I would like to use the FIFO, it quite useful when sending debug data.The Fifo is also useful for RX, if e.g. interrupt is blocked by other interrupt with higher priority But I would like to have interrupt on every byte that I receive. That's needed for the command line interface where I echo and edit, finish, recall commands.I have not been able to configure it like this. I do not need to use the Hall libraries, I can just implement a simple ring-buffer myself.Is it possible to both use the Fifo and have interrupt on every bytes received?Best RegardsKristian Vang     

Hi!Why can i not disable the protection? I use W25Q256. I can't write and erase the flash ic.The programming was working, but suddenly an error occurred during download. I am working on NUCLEO F446RE, I need to use CAN1 and CAN2 on the STM32 NUCLEO-F446RE board. I tested CAN1, which works normally for sending and receiving data, but when I tried CAN2, it didn’t work at all. I am working on the STM32H7B3I-DK and needing to use PA0_C PC2_C and PC3_C as part a button scanner, as all other pins are being used. I have PA_0 configured as an output and PC2_C and PC3_C as Inputs with pull downs. The current full 3x3 configuration is PA4, PC4, PA0_C as outputs and PH10, PC2_C, and PC3_C as inputs (pull down resistors). I have configured PA_0, PC2_C, and PC3_C to be connect to PA0, PC2, and PC3, by closing the analog switch. However, PA0 and PC2 are not working as intended. Measured through an oscilloscope PA0 is not supplying and voltage when set high (Same results in a new project with only PA0_C connected and set high). PC2 is also not reading high when voltage is applied. The weird thing is that PC3 works fine and reads high when voltage is applied.I am trying to figure out if the board somehow is damaged or if i am missing something. So the eval board user guide say that at page 19:''In RMII mode the 50 MHz clock must be provided to Ethernet PHY by an external oscillator. This oscillator (ref SM7745HEV-50.0M or equivalent) must be soldered on the U3 footprint (located under CN3) and jumper JP5 must be removed. This oscillator is not provided with the board.'' But the stm32f4 datasheet show that the external 25MHz is enough for the ETH RMII mode via the MCO pin. My question is what is the correct? The ETH RMII mode need an external 50MHz clock source or I can use the MCO pin, with only one 25MHz clock source for the mikrocontroller? #worst-forum-software-ever

Hello, I have a question to ask regarding a problem with the STM32H7S78-DK card and using FatFS for an SD card, using RTOS.I try to describe the problem in as much detail as possible.I have my own application which includes TouchGFX among other things.For managing the SD I used the files provided by ST for precisely my Discovery called ‘FatFs_uSD_RTOS’.I took the part concerning SD management (SD card supplied in the purchase kit with the DK. SanDisk Ultra 32 GB formatted with FAT32) and adapted it to my code. It compiles without errors and so far so smooth.However, the result I get is not what I wanted, as the file I wanted is not written to the SD. Debugging the code, the SD is recognised correctly, the f_mount in the fatfs.c code returns FR_OK, but when I execute the f_mkfs and then the f_open, I get the error FR_DISK_ERROR.Analysing the call to ff.c even further I realise that the problem seems to be the disk_write. hello.Using STM32G0B0CET6USB_DRD_FS---Host_Only_FS,USB_HOST---Mass Storage Host Class,FATFS---USB DiskUSB Interrupt---EnableIf you set it to the above mode and operate it, the USB is recognized only once when the power is first turned on, and the USB Mount/Unmount function does not work at all from then on.It seems that the interrupter is activated only at the beginning of power-on and is disabled thereafter.It works fine with stm32f401 with same configuration. What causes it?I ask for help from experts.

I'm trying to connect an encoder with STM32F407VGT6. The encoder sends out A,B and Z pulses out. I can read both A-B and Z pulses using TIM2 and TIM3 respectively. Timer 2 is in encoder mode and TIM3 is in input PWM mode. I want to know if I'm correct:A-B encoder signals give me the rotation data and Z signal will give out pulse with variable frequency.If I read the time period saved in CCR1/CCR2 of TIM3, can I estimate the speed of the motor? If yes, how? 

I have a STM32G030K8 processor that needs to write some stuff to memory as soon as it detects that it will be losing power - always a bad time but I have to do this.Most of the time it seems to be doing this just fine but once in a while the processor gets corrupted.Here is the problem though, I have write protected the code space and the only pages not write protected are two pages at the end of memory where I want to write the data to. During stable operation I erase these pages, so that at last minute I just have to write the data.The problem is that the actual program gets corrupted in the write protected pages.Does write protection only affect external writing or also internal writing? In other words, is it a possibility that the write instructions leave the entire memory vulnerable for corruption even though I am not altering the write protection on the pages with program code in?
