Not sure why my previous post was marked as spam:Hello,I'm trying to do something relatively simple but can't figure out the issue. It might also be possible that there is no issue and my expectations are wrong about timer synchronization. I am using TIM1 as a master with trigger out event configured when the timer is enabled. Enabling timer1 should start TIM2 and TIM15 (both configured as slave with appropriate ITR0 triggers). Just for debugging and simplicity all the timers are using the same prescaler and the same period (ARR register value is the same). The timer do start when I enable timer1 as expected. But they are not synchronized. Below are registers dump for tim1, tim2 and tim15 just before setting TIM1.CR1  enable bit. Once I set the enable bit I get the logic analyzer capture shown.I mean it works in the sense that enabling TIM1 triggers TIM2 a

Previously, I had a Raspberry Pi CM4 connected to an existing WebSockets server developed with Django Channels. The Raspberry Pi CM4 received data from an STM32F4 and forwarded it to the server. It also processed commands from the web server dashboard to control relays connected to the STM32F4. This setup was managed by a backend developed in Python running on the Raspberry Pi CM4.Now, I want to migrate the backend to the STM32F7 Discovery board and connect it to the same web server dashboard using the ESP8266 module. In other words, I want to switch the backend programming language from Python (including its libraries) to C. My question is: Can I achieve this transition, and if so, how should I proceed?Thank you,Nourhene

Hello, I have been working on the STM32G030K6T6 with DMX512 and TM1651 display for 8 months, and I am unable to find a solution to my problem.I am creating different patterns according to the DMX controller. One pattern involves the speed of blinking. When I use my board with a bought board, the blinking speeds do not match. Initially, they match, but when I change the strobe, they mismatch again, causing a DMX UART issue.

I am trying to change the system clock on my STM32F410RB using register programming. I have setup an SPI protocol to an external DAC IC which needs a minimum of 100ns (10MHz) clock period. The SPI allows for a maximum of 8MHz (fPCLK/2) at default clock settings.I cooked up a little code but it doesn't seem to work as expected. When I probe the SCK, all I get is a constant DC type plot or a noisy output. Hello ,We are encountering an issue with the USART_DMA interrupt method on the STM32G070CBT6 microcontroller. The problem is that data is only received after performing a hardware reset. We expect the data to be received continuously without needing to reset the microcontroller.Please suggest the possible solutions.Thank You,

I'm trying to get a simple UART hello world program to work. It just transmits a buffer once per second. I've enabled UART2, enabled the interrupt, and configured the baud rate, parity, and word length. But when I open minicom I don't see anything. I know the loop is running because I'm toggling the LED on every transmit. I've also tried implementing the receive callback and sending messages to the stm32 with a Python script (this was actually the first thing I tried, but I decided to simplify things to troubleshoot.)I'm using this cableI've got the white wire (tx) connected to USART2_TX (PA2) and the green wire (rx) connected to USART_RX (PA3) and the black write (gnd) connected to GND.Does anybody have any tips on troubleshooting this?

Hello,I am facing constant difficulties in connecting to my Nucleo H723ZG Boards.Almost every time I try to update the ST-Link via STMCube32IDE, the compilation stops half-way through the process and throws an error (see image)I have tried:swapping cable and adaptersswapping Nucleo board itselfusing difference USB ports on the computerIt appears to be, that a successfull connection happens almost randomly and about 1 out of 10 tries.Has anyone faced the same issue?Thanks

Hello,We have a device that runs an stm32g0. I have a bootloader at the beginning of the flash and then 2 pages for config and the rest of the flash for the firmware. The bootloader basically checks if the two config pages are OK and then starts the firmware. I have now 3 decives that suddenly stopped working and all have the same issue:The device starts in bootloader, prints some messages (UART) and then freezes and restarts when the watchdog times out. Based on the messages I see at the output, I know that the only thing the bootloader does before freezing is reading the two config flash pages (copying the content to a buffer with memcpy).I see two possibilities:1) the bootloader (code in flash) is somehow corrupt, however I've write protected the flash where the bootloader rests...2) reading the internal flash (config pages) creates an interrupt (hard fault maybe?) and the bootloader is stuck in the busy loop of the interrupt handler (I have no

Hello,​I'm currently working in a project with the Nucleo-L476RG board. Basically, I have a MEMS microphone (AN-000048) connected to the board. The microphone (I pretend to work in stereo mode) sends PDM data and I use the DFSDM module get the microphone data in PCM format.​My problem comes with the DFSDM module configuration. By consulting documentation and videos about the module, I've arrived at some conclusions, which I use to configure the module:​The clock frequency that is sent to the microphone is the Output Clock. I've configured the clock to use the system clock as source (80MHz) with a 125 divider, so I'm sending a 640KHz signal to the microphone.I use channel 0 with PDM/SPI input from ch0 and internal clock mode.I use DMA from peripheral to memory with word data width and in circular mode (which, as far as i know, involves that once the buffer is full, new data is written at the beginning of the buffer)

This is already my 2nd prototype and costed me quite some $$ since it had to be a 8 layer PCB. The soldering I have performed my self with a heat gun and heating platform...This worked fine in the past.I checked everything already several times, but since I am doing this one alone, I most have missed something.The issue has to be from the MCU connection/Layout since this one gets super hot when I power the board. Hello,I'm a hobbyist and I'm working on a USB to 4xI2S (8 channels using the SAIs) using a stm32H7 MCU. I have a proof of concept working on a stm32F7 discovery board. I'm starting to look at the dedicated board.I understand that the USB peripheral needs a precise clock, which can't be achieved alone by the internal HSI oscillator, as it is not precise enough. The stm32H7 has a clock recovery system, CRS, to calibrate the HSI with the SOF signal.Would you have experience with using the HSI+CRS?Are there tricks in the implementation if the Return of Experience was positive?Safer to go with a 8Mhz HSE?Best regards,JMF

I'm having some trouble performing a bank-swap on an STM32H745. The function works perfectly fine on an H743, but when porting over to the H745, it doesn't run the firmware that was swapped in.Firmware 1: prints "1.0". A button press will trigger a bank-swap & resetFirmware 2: prints "2.0". A button press will trigger a bank-swap & reset1. Erase the chip, everything reads 0xFF2. Flash firmware1.bin at 0x08000000 (bank 1)3. Press user button to perform a bank swap4. Banks are now swapped, and 0x08000000 is now empty (0xFF...)5. Flash firmware2.bin at 0x080000006. Hi, I am unable to communicate via i2c with the TLV320AIC3104IRHBR chip, the bus response is always busy. I'm just using the STM's internal pullup, I check it on the oscilloscope and the pins are high but no communication happens. Hi Folks, I am using a STM32F070F6P6 microcontroller for a very basic/simple project to help learn the STM32 platform, etc.I am getting an error when I attempt to build my project that my code overflows FLASH memory by quite a bit.  I did a test on a new project, and even without any personal code of my own, if I try to compile the exact same build, the USB middleware overflows my FLASH memory by a ton.  I am only using I2C and USB peripheral in my project.Does this seem abnormal? Am I doing something wrong?  It doesn't seem right to me that these add-ins themselves should be enough to overflow the FLASH memory size when I haven't even written a single line of code.  Are there any steps you usually take to optimize the code?

Posted on October 28, 2015 at 23:27Hi,In my design I'm using an external 24.576 MHz oscilator as I2S clock sourceAcoording to the reference manual, for 32 bit frames and MCLK output:FS = I2SxCLK / [(32*2)*((2*I2SDIV)+ODD)*4)] For Fs = 96 KHz, this gives I2SDIV = 0, ODD = 1.However, in the CubeMX configuration tab this shows an error:''With this I2S Clock (24.576 MHz), the divider value(0) is too low to obtain the desired audio frequency(96.0 KHz).The I2S Clock must be higher than (86.016 MHz).''I don't understand where this 86.016 MHz is coming from.Is there something happening between the external input pin and the I2S clock generator that I'm missing? Or is this a bug in CubeMX?

Dear all, I'm working on a project with a waveshare eink display. I'm using the STM32F103RET6 controller and CubeIDE as development environment. I'm building my application as a c++ application with the FreeRTOS lib. My Display class has a 4000 byte buffer containing the current image. I initialize the buffer as all 0's and this works fine. However, during the code that prepares the image with some text, the buffer seems to get written from a different place in the application. When I set a watchpoint on one of the bytes in the buffer that gets written, It triggers on the TIM1 IRQ handler. Tim1 is used as sys clock. (see image for the trace) I don't see any relation between this timer and the buffer. Any idea how to debug this situation? Many thanks in advance!Regards, JOK   

Colleagues,What should be done in firmware for VBUS detection through a GPIO pin?  My device is self-powered, so I have to do VBUS detection. The device is built around STM32G474, and it doesn’t have a dedicated pin for VBUS detection, so I have to do it through a GPIO pin and firmware.  VBUS is connected to the GPIO pin PA10 through a 2x 100kΩ divider.I checked the code examples for STM32G4, but I couldn’t find examples for USB.  If somebody could point me to a code example, that would be great.I’ve read this FAQ on VBUS detection which is a collection of excerpts from AN4879 (and I’ve read the app note too). [withou
