I'm encountering difficulties modifying option bytes on an STM32H723VEH6 microcontroller using a custom C# bootloader. Hi all,I created a dual core project for STM32H745 Disco board. I'm using the cubeIDE and I said "yes" to set all peripheral to their default values. I wonder which core (CM4 or/and CM7) is booting and which was not. The reference manual (RM0399) says that this depends on the settings of BCM4, BCM7, BOOT_C1 and BOOT_C2. But BCM4 and BCM7 show "X" as the reset value.Looking at the actual code in each main file it looks like both cores are booting. CM4 sets a semaphore and goes to sleep waiting for CM7 to configure the system clock (SystemClock_Config()) and release the semaphore to enable CM4 to continue to run.Is this correct? What are the reset values for BCM4 and BCM7? Can the system clock be configure in CM4 instead of CM7?Thanks.

I'm using the STM32G071C8U7 microcontroller for AC-DC converter, and despite calibrating the ADC and obtaining mostly accurate measurements for all sampled channels, there is an inherent noise problem. When shorting one ADC channel to ground, I can't achieve a 0 count reading. Instead, the ADC measured value varies by 3 counts, occasionally spiking even higher. This issue persists across multiple boards (non-dev boards), causing concern as the signal is vital for closed-loop control.In the initial implementation, the ADC runs at a 12 MHz clock frequency, triggered every 15 us. 5 channels are sampled using a sequencer with a sample duration of 3.5 ADC clocks, totaling 6 PCLK. In this MCU, the VREF+ pin is external and I have it connected directly to the VDD/VDDA pin. I am aware of 3 major noise-contributing factors in ADC measurements: power supply, reference voltage, and external measurement circuitry. Posted on July 11, 2016 at 17:27I'm working with STM32F070xBI need to configure GPIOs PA11 and PA12 to USB D+ and D- alternate function. According to datasheet it is listed as Additional functions (not Alternate) USB_DM and USB_DP. It is not clear how to configure these GPIO for USB functionality. If they are not Alternate functions so how can I reach desired functionality?We are not using Standard Peripheral Library. I need explanation in terms of GPIO port registers.Thanks.

Hi,    I am using STM32F407VET6 MCU and trying to receive data using LL API LL_USART_ReceiveData8 over USART configured as modbus.   I confirmed USART transmit (LL_USART_TransmitData8) is successful through an modbus APP, on rx side of the other device as well as fact  that LL_USART_IsActiveFlag_TC is returning True.  I also confirmed other receiving device also sending a 8 byte response back. (Confirmed via Modbus app)  But on the STM32F407VET6 MCU side I am just receiving 1 byte of data.    Note - If I don't insert delay (LL_mDelay) I only get first byte, if I add delay I only get

I am using STM32H753ZI for my project. My use case is I want to detect brown out reset after brownout occurs and system restarts.I am checking brownout reset flag using if (__HAL_RCC_GET_FLAG(RCC_FLAG_BORRST). My query is this flag is shared/common between Power On Reset and Brown Out Reset i.e POR/PDR or BOR same as like in STM32F779NI?

Hi,I am using STM32H743II microcontroller. In which  communicating with external SRAM with FMC. It is working fine.I need to communicate with the touch LCD IC via I2C. There is no problem in communication when FMC is not active. I am reading the touch coordinates properly. However, when FMC is active, none of the I2C ports on the stm32 work. I tried all I2C1-I2C4 ports one by one. I set the I2C pins not used by FMC. When I scan HAL_I2C_IsDeviceReady, the I2C address of the integrated circuit does not appear. I cannot communicate with the IC. Why does I2C not work with FMC?

I need to write firmware for STM32H7xx to interact with an SPI flash memory chip. (STM32 master, 8-bit, full-duplex polling, no CRC and application controlled #CS.) I am using STM32CubeIDE 1.14.0 and used the device configuration tool to produce my SPI1 configuration code using LL library calls.I encountered problems with code based upon HAL library hanging whilst reading to verify a write. So I wish to use either the Low-Level or register based programming. I have written firmware for SPI peripherals before but this STM32H7xx is a whole new level.Yes, I have read, re-read and read again the RM0468 Reference Manual. The poor English quality and lack of clear procedures do not help. It's like trying to learn a foreign language using a dictionary. I am struggling to find any good material for this family of chips. I have spent days on this and getting nowhere.Thanks.

​Here's how I implemented a custom bootloader using the STM32L475. I thought I would share since I have seen so many posts from people having issues invoking their application from their bootloader.​I attempted to post this as an idea in the knowledgebase, however it kept giving me an invalid link.​In my case, the bootloader is located at 0x08000000-0x0801FFFF (128K). My bootloader uses interrupts, the UART, timers, I2C, including the USB host (MSC class) so that application code can either be downloaded via a proprietary UART protocol or via a .hex file on the USB thumb drive. All of that easily fits within the 128K space.​My application code occupies 0x08020000 up to the remainder of the 896KB space. I defined an application header from 0x08020000-0x080207FF (2KB) in the linker file, so technically my application starts at 0x08000800. The application header contains the firmware version and a CRC hash for the ent

I need to debug an application code which is not on the default flash address (0x8000000) but it is at 0x8008000. I just changed the flash origin address to that value. When the execution reaches the CAN initialization part, the program counter goes outside of program code (0x8000f44). I was doing some tests on a NUCLEO-G071RB and I found out that the ADC has always some sort of offset in its digital output. I measure the tension on the MCU's pin and it's zero volts, but when I read the ADC the output is not zero. It can be 26-27 digits, 50-51 digits or 75-76 digits depending on the board that I'm testing. This happens also with an "empty" project where the ADC read is the only action that I'm doing, and I'm sure that the tension on the physical pin is zero Volts. Why I do get this behaviour? Is it normal?

I want to communicate with STM32f427 processor and 3 sensors via SPI. I want to use only SPI1 line. I need 3 chip select pins. There are 2 SPI1_NSS pins on the datasheet of the processor. What can I use as 3 CS pins? Is any GPIO pin suitable?

Hello, I'm trying to use the stm32u5 585 and I'm having a bad time trying to figure out what I am doing wrong. I am getting about 1.2mA in stop mode 2 when I should be getting around 8.95+ uA.I've disabled all SRAM and everything else in the PWR section in CubeMXI have my voltage scale at range 4My clock is at 16MHzI set all my pins to analogueI suspended and resumed tick in case stopmode was leaving early.I've tried following the workshops and examples from other similiar stm32u5 products, no luck.Can someone please clarify? Please explicitly write the steps of how to achieve micro-amps in stop mode. I am using JP3 to measure current consumption to my stm32u5 chip. 

I'm looking to know what is the best ST microcontroller that works best for ultra low temprature -80c and liquid nitrogen ?I understand that full functionality is not guaranteed as per the specs. Note: external oscilator will be used as HSE that will avoid internal oscillator drifting at ultra low tempratures

Hi all, recently I made a board with H725RGV6, but when I tried to flash a test firmware for the first time, I got " Error: No STM32 target found! If your product embeds Debug Authentication, please perform a discovery using Debug Authentication" from STM32CubeProgrammer (I'm using STLink V2). I measured the power supply and VCAP, VDD looks good at 3.1v, but the VCAP is only 100mv which is not correct. I also tried to remove the third 2.2uF for VCAP and connect PIN66 to PIN49, so VCAP is around 80mv.- I've checked the orientation.- I soldered the chip with a 700F heat gun and tried 3 chips in total.- Updates: I tried to supply 1.2V to VCAP, then I can connect to the chip. But why? Shouldn't the chip have internal LDO?Below is the power supply part schematic. Does any one have any suggestions?

Hello everybody again. I shared a similar post a while ago, but I couldn't express it well and couldn't find a solution. Aim of the program is handling rotary encoder data, which is a 5-digit integer number. Encoder setup is done. I want to take this encoder data and write it to a terminal program via USB connection (UART is not used). But, terminal program is not able to read integer value. So I wanted to convert the integer to ASCII. When I assign arbitrary number to array, everything is fine, I read correct value. But I can't assign encoder value to array. All I read is '00000' in terminal. What should I do from now on?
