I want to implement a custom bootloader and load the firmware through that. My board is STM32H750XB and according to the data sheet it says, it contains a single sector (sector 0) of 128kB which is user programmable. My question ,  is it possible to program the bootloader and the firmware separately to the same sector, because when I flash the firmware after flashing the bootloader, it erases the bootloader and writes only the application to the given memory address.

Hello together,does anyone know how I can implement multiple USB device classes on a STM32?I want to use the CDC so a VCP and the DFU class so I can communicate with my chip and drive an update if needed. I am working with a STM32L452RE.It must be possible, it is the standard functionality of every ST-Link V2/V3 debugger that exists.In the CubeMx you can not set this, is that documented somewhere? Unfortunately I haven't found anything yet.Thanks for your assistance!

Hello, I wrote two separate codes for this, 1st one is bootloader and 2nd is my application code. Bootloader will jump to the application code which is placed in QSPI memory. Code is executing and running fine, But the issue is I am not able to debug my application code. It is something that my debugger is not able to halt code in the main of my application code. it is showing following error....Can someone please tell me, how to give access of QSPI memory to set breakpoint or to halt code in main of application code. I am using STM32L476 disc board and STM32cubeIDE.

Hi, I have both stm32u5 and stm32l469. I found that there are some differences in the CRC caculation.On stm32l469:if i configure the parameter as following, function hardware_crc32_calculate_with_seed works fine, no matter the code in line 185,186,194 being comment out or not. However, if i change the CRC address to U5 and run the same test. the code in line 185,186,194 must be had.

I am using STM32CUBE ide and my project has SD card access via SDIO peripheral.I am using FatFS middleware. To use FreeRTOS I enabled DMA and system works fine.After enabling the DMA I wanted to see how much read/write performance the system gained.I measured disk access time with oscilloscope by set-reset a gpio pin in SD_read and SD_write functions. To my surprise system that use DMA for SDIO peripheral was slightly slower.Following table is the access times with and without DMA:  ReadWritewith DMA1.31ms2.062mswithout DMA

According to AN4879, PA9 must be used as VBUS Sensing and must not be re-used for other purposes. However, according to CubeMX, PA9 refer to USART1_TX and USART1 is the only port that supports memory reprogramming (STM32F103VET6 Datasheet Section, 2.3.10, "Boot modes") Does it mean that in self-powered devices, USART1 and USB must not be used simultaneously? 

I'm trying to migrate my code away from Platformio, which I've previously been using, to cmake (currently using it with clion and openocd).I've got everything working but when I run my code I run in to one problem.For some reason the PLL is enabled at the start of the main function.I also have this occur when creating a cubemx project and porting that straight to cmake with no custom code at all.The registers are set to the following at the start of main.I can bypass the actual problem which is that I can't configure pll when it's already in use.But this should not be happening. Hi. Recently I started a new personal project, where I'm trying to develop my own SMD-to-female-header PCB for the STM32F207VCT6 MCU chip. After ordering all the parts, doing some reflow soldering, checking that there are no solder bridges, and verifying that each pin properly reaches its corresponding header, I proceeded to connect the following circuit to it. Most of it comes from the AN3320 application note for this chip.In order to program it, I got an FTDI FT232R board and connected it to the chip's USART1 (PA9 and PA10). Hi guys, this is my first post here on the forum. I'm starting my learning in STM and I created a custom board with a STM32F405RGT6, I followed a basic MCU operation schematic that I found in a video on Youtube, but the MCU is not starting. I did several tests to check if the USB connection was correct, if the voltages also worked well and everything is ok. However, I saw that I really don't get a clock from the crystal, the crystal I'm using is already known to me from other projects. So I'm leaving here a print of the connection schematic and if anyone can give me some light on where to look for the problem that causes the MCU to not start, I would be very grateful.:grinning_face: 

Hello everyone, Good day. Recently, I have bought a STM32 Display from Riverdi (model : RVT70HSSNWCA0) .I would like to know how do I communicate an external STM32 Nucleo board with this display? For example : I want to read ADC Value from a potentiometer from the STM32 Nucleo Board and then have it be displayed on the Riverdi LCD. We are also using TouchGFX with Text Areas that have wildcards. How do we achieve something like this? Please provide kind support thank you best regards.

I was planning on buying this STM32 NUCLEO-U5A5ZJ-Q Board but as I was reading the user manual for the board, I realized there were no GPIO connectors for the board but rather there were these "ST Morpho pin headers",I was wondering where the GPIOs were but as I did some experimenting with STM32CubeMX I discovered that I can set the pins in the ST Morpho Pin Headers to GPIO input or Output. Does this mean I can use these headers as the GPIOs of the Nucleo board or are these meant for something else entirely? I'm sorry if this is a silly question but if anyon

Using the STM32U5xx MCU - I see that PA4 on STM32U5A5 can be OCTOSPI1_NSS signal as well as SPI1_NSS signal.Now, I want to use SPI1 in parallel with OCTOSPI1 (as QuadSPI). The SPI1 should be a SPI Slave Rx where OCTOSPI1 is my master QSPI Tx.I want to know this:If PA4 is configured, via ALT, as OCTOSPI1_NSS (output)can I configure SPI1 to use HW_NSS signal (also PA4), as an inputand the output signal on PA4 as OCTOSPI1_NSS is routed back as input to SPI1_NSS?What I understand:When I would configure PA4 as SPI1_NSS (via ALT) - it would become an input. OCTALSPI1_NSS would be disconnected as an output.But what if I leave it as a OCTALSPI1_NSS but I configure SPI1 to use HW_NSS signal (but without ALT again)?Would it be connected to the same PA4 signal, but internally, to read how OCTALSPI1_NSS is driven?I mean: can a signal, driven as an output, still be used as an INTERNAL input (for another device)?

I have a problem with USB initialization on those specific MCUs. Initialization function generated automatically by CubeMX hangs on USB_CoreReset function. Specifically on USB_OTG_GRSTCTL_CSRST bit which doesn't want to set after the reset. The Cube examples (which are working) use USBPD library only which source is not given so I can't see how initialization is done there.With older USB32U5 where USB_FS phy is embedded everything works fine. Any ideas what should I change to make it working? My goal is to use it with tinyusb library since I don't want to use Azure RTOS or any RTOS in my project

Hi Everyone, I am working with STM32L431CBT6 and STM IDE cube 1.14. I am currently facing the problem that the HAL_delay function is not working. on investigating further I found that SysTick_Handler(void) is never getting called and thus "uwTick" is never getting incremented. I have seen that the systick is working but when ever the counter reaches zero, an interrupt is raised but soon the Stlinl-V3 debugger hangs and restarts.  

I have a project with a STM32H747. I don't use the DSI functionality. I left DSI_CKP, DSI_D0P, DSI_D1N, DSI_D0N, DSI_CKN, and DSI_D1P unconnected. Can I also leave VDDDSI and VCAPDSI unconnected?

I tried to use the hardware crc for my device stm32f103  . But the STM32CubeMX ( version : 6.10 ) doesnot provide any parameters configuration for this IP. I'm using STM32CubeMX 5.3.0, and RM0410 Rev 4.RM p450 says T_conv = Sampling time + 12 cycles. This is wrong/misleading. Actually, this is the truth:T_conv_total = Sampling time + T_conv_at_a_given_resolution,The converstion times at a given resolution are described under Section 15.7: Fast conversion mode. They are: T_conv_at_a_given_resolution:12 bits --> 12 clock cycles10 bites --> 10 clock cycles8 bites --> 8 clock cycles6 bits --> 6 clock cyclesNotice the pattern here: 1 clock cycle per bit of resolution.Please fix RM p450 to clarify this.RM p452 (15.7 Fast conversion mode) is also wrong/misleading.It says that 12 bits takes 3 + 12 = 15 ADCCLK cycles. What is misleading is the 3. This is only if you have 3 set as your sample time! (see registers p473-474 for the sample times you can choose).
