Posted on August 01, 2016 at 16:02 Overall objective: Using https://github.com/groupgets/purethermal1-firmware as a base, add a USB serial port interface (which would replace the DEBUG functionality it has currently). I have read through multiple posts here regarding composite devices and after about a day of work I have an attempt at the modified firmware running on the device. The video device works fine, and Device Manager shows a new COM port with no errors. So far so good. The problem occurs when I try to open the serial port - the terminal software throws an error trying to open the port. I feel like I've almost got it, but I'm not quite there. I haven't implemented certain things like handling GET_LINE_CODING control code, etc. Is that needed to open the port? Should I use [0x00, 0x00, 0x00] (use interface descriptions

Recently working with spi communication in stm32g070rb using stm32CubeIDE (HAL library).SPI master receive interrupt triggered continuosly when there is no interrupt.But same code wrote in SPI slave its works perfectly.I also put Pull down resistor.Please provide solution

Hello,I met a HAL_Delay() block. The board worked with internal RCC, and I checked the uwTickFreq when debugging, it always equal to 0.  Attached the ioc file. 

Running into a weird issue with my teams and I's capstone senior project. We are using the Nucleo dev boards and connecting it to IMU in the title via I2C. When running either HAL_I2C_Mem_Read or HAL_I2C_IsDeviceReady the status we get back is HAL_ERROR. The board and the IMU are wired correctly, the code in main.c is correct. Our advisor can plug in the board to his computer and run the code and the status will come back HAL_OK, but when I run the same code and plug in the same board I get a HAL_ERROR. Same with my two other teammates, all get HAL_ERROR. We are using default settings for I2C, we have created fresh projects to test and still get the same error. The only difference we can find is that our advisor is using CubeIDE version 1.12.1 (an older version) while we are using 1.14.1. Anyone else have this error or have any insight as to what could be going wrong? 

Hi, I am working on the NUCLEO-G491RE development board with 170MHz HSE and testing UART communication with 1mbps baud with HAL_UART_Transmit_DMA and HAL_UART_TxCpltCallback on STM32CubeIDE but only able to send around first 256 bytes and the remaining data were never sent.Why?

->MDMA is configured STM32H757 Eval to transfer 32000 bytes of data using repeat block transfer triggering Mode.-> I want to have interrupt on each Block Transfer, but I'm getting interrupt when last Block is transferred as BRC is set to Zero-> Even I'm getting all the interrupt flag sets when Interrupt Handler is called after transmission complete

I am using STM32L083 and need to erase it using J-Link. If it is locked at Level1, I also need to unlock it. My goal is to completely erase the entire Flash memory. I believe I have an error in the process, as I have been unsuccessful in both erasing and unlocking. According to the STM32H7's datasheet, the M4 core shouldn't be able to boot from an SDRAM memory address (because it's outside of the range 0x00000000 to 0x3FFF0000):However, I found out that I can actually boot the M4 core from SDRAM, if I used the alias address at 0x70000000 (which is also outside of the range) instead of 0xC0000000. So I'm wondering if this is a documentation error, or an undocumented feature/bug that we shouldn't count on ? Thanks!

Hello,I've two STM32G473 controllers connected on SPI3 and SPI5 of main controller (STM32H753).1. STM32G473 - Boot, Chip Select and Reset pins are controlled through the I/O pins of STM32H753, SPI5 of H753 is used to interface G473 on SPI1(as per note AN2606). This controllers works ok and I'm able to update the firmware of it through host H753.2. STM32G473 - Boot, Chip Select and Power(VDD) is controlled through I/O pin on H753. SPI3 of H753 is used to interface G473 on SPI1(as per AN2606). This controller always sends 0xA5 on the MISO line. Things I've tried,1. Verified the option bytes of both controllers and they are identical2. Tried to send sync byte multiple times and receive the ACKwhat could be the reason that it is not sending the ACK byte(0x79)

Hello everyone,I have a question about the STM32C011J4M6 in S08N package.I am developping a PCB with this MCU and want to use an LSE like in the picture below.Then I also want to program and debug my MCU with an stlinkv3 and will use the SWD debug so the 2 wire SWCLK and SWDIO will be connected to PA13 and PA14.The problem is that in the pinout view below, PA14 and OSCX_OUT are on the same pin.

Hi guys!We are running a project using STM32G0 MCU-s. We used STM32G031 in the previous iteration, but, due to budget reasons, we now ended up with STM32G030-s, beleiving these are basically interchangeable for our purposes. Due to some board error, we now need to disable the NRST pin (or, rather set it up to be a GPIO in this case). On the older G031 boards, we can perform this from code through the option bytes, but to our surprise, the G030 manual misses these bytes altogether. Using the older STM ST-Link utility, we were able to program the bytes on a test device somehow, and set up proper functionality, but I have a bad feeling about this. We have quite a few production devices where the programming pins are not accessible anymore, and we can only disable NRST with a software update. If we brick them, there's no way of bringing them back.So... is there any way to safely set up NRST as GPIO on G030s from software? Is it a s

Hi,I am switching PB12 on/off with 1 second delay on STM32F030C8T6. Measuring with the multimeter, the HIGH state is only 0.2 volts, even though Vdd is 3.3V. I have turned off all things that could be drawing too much power from the MCU. Other pins output a voltage very near 3.3V. There are no external connections with PB12, only a 10k pull-up resistor. What could be causing this?

I have defined PE9 as belonging to Timer 1;I setup timer 1 as PWM as shown above.When I enable the timer, nothing happens at PE9.I tried setting force  high; no changeWhen I define PE9 as standard output forced high, it goes high.  So I know that the pin is connected correctly to the board.But I'm not doing something to correctly setup PE9 as a PWM output 

I am tring to write a code for stm32f401cb which will blink the led when i press the led and when i leave pressing the button,it will turn out the led.I have set channel ahb1 which connects to port a and b in my microprocessor f401cb and i chose input type pull down in port a and led is connected to port b.But my led is not blinking in anyway.where is my mistake you think?My led is not blinking when i press the button.it is always turned out As you can see in the picture am holding the button but there is no response on the led.Note:Port a is selected as input and port b is selected as output and both ports are controlled with their 0 (zero) pins. my code is like that Why i cant get a response on the led?

Hello ! [STM32L073RZ]I've been thinking what is this ADC DMA continuous request. I don't really much know what it is exactly and why it must be enabled. I know there are 2 modes of DMA, which is normal and circular in which normal starts only once and stops after sending everything he has, and circular after sending everything he has starts again from the beggining of a buffer. I have here 4 questions regarding to this topic : -> What is this  ADC DMA continuous conversion mode and does it involve in DMA modes ?-> What happens if I have Circular Mode of the DMA and have disabled ADC DMA continuous conversion mode ? -> What happens if I have Singular Mode of the DMA and have enabled ADC DMA continuous conversion mode ? -> In UART in DMA I didn't have this option of DMA continuous

Evaluating the STM32F070RBT6 for a project, and using STM32CubeMX V6.10 I am unable to connect the PLL to the HSI RC. It all works ok if I use HSE.I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong. 

Hi, For our project we have one Bootloader in 0X80000000 and application program in 0X80001c00. We have to combine both of these binary files and load it in to our controller. What is the best way to combine two binaries ? We are using windows platform. 

I want  to run MCU with VDD 1.8V (in order to have all I/O-signals as 1.8V). I changed to use a LQFP64 package which provides a dedicated pin for VDDUSB.I power VDDUSB with 3.3V (for sure not below 2.7V) but all other VDDs on MCU are 1.8V:USB function (FS PHY) FAILS if VDD drops below 1.8VMCU seems to run with VDD a bit below 1.8V, e.g. 1.794V. But USB is not working anymore!For USB I need at least 1.804V: then boot is OK, USB comes up and later VDD can drop to 1.793V and still working (but not booting up properly with USB on 1.793V: no USB enumeration anymore).All my 1.8V ordered and soldered LDOs do not work - because they provide just 1.79xV: USB does not come up.And the debugger (external ST-Link) becomes flaky with VDD a bit below 1.8V (50% of the tries it does not find the target).So,with "off-the-s

Hello, I am using STM32F042K6T7 microcontroller for doing some start-up configuration for some Ethernet PHYs by SMI, it is working well at room temperature, and cold (-40°C), but when I increase temperature max (+74°C) the microcontroller it seems is not able to start-up because the SMI signals (MDIO and MDC) seems not to work, I did some test with a Nucleo-F042K6 which has the STM32F042K6T6 heating up the microcontroller up to +74°C and it seems not having the same issue then I would like to make sure that my understanding is correct.It suppose STM32F042K6T6 has a operating temperature of -40°C to 85°C andSTM32F042K6T7 has an operating

if I configure the USART and use HAL_UART_Transmit. The UART to USB bridge is taken care of by the ST-Link chip.Could i use the VCP on the board is on PA9/PA10(pin D14 and pin D15 to rx and tx to arduino) and use digital.read on arduino to get the information of char[] like tipo "%s %.0f%%"?  

I have configured the M7 clock to 480 MHz and the M4 clock to 240 MHz using the HSI as input.  In SystemClock_Config routine the statement__HAL_PWR_VOLTAGESCALING_CONFIG(PWR_REGULATOR_VOLTAGE_SCALE1);is crashing the STLINK-V3 with the error messageError in executing 'step' command ...Target is not responding, retrying...I had a breakpoint at that line and activated it with the Step Into (F5). 

 I'm trying to update a transmitter called a wfly et16s. They have downloads on their site to upgrade their radio to expresslrs which is just a newer protocol. I installed the stm32 driver and it shows its working, I can connect to stm32cubeprogrammer through usb to the radio. I cannot however use there upgrade exe file to get a dfu going. When i go through the steps to get the radio into upgrade mode and click the exe file they provide a box appears. The box has a dropdown list of dfus and its blanked out. I'm not sure someone here knows what i should do other that research everything on the internet and contact everyone(which i have) i'm wondering if i can get this exe decompiled and loaded through stm32cube since it connects. Hello,I'm using a STM32U5A5VJTXQ MCU and I need to use the 2K BKPSRAM located @0x40036400.I can read and write without problem the BKPSRAM after power up, but a power cycle corrupt all the content. Strangely, the RTC content: time and registers, are all retained.Do I have to make a special setting to ensure that the BKPSRAM retains its contents?ThanksBest RegardsClemente
