What are the different ways of disabling the JTAG in STM32G4 series? Is Direct Register Programming an option?

In my custom board, the STM32G4 is regulating the voltages on two converters, a buck, and an inverting buck.  The peak current mode control used generates an interrupt every 5us for some processing, including current limit detection.Currently, the MCU is configured for a single 128kB bank (I may not have the option to operate in dual bank mode due to the size of the generated code, but it is close). Currently, it appears that each time I write to the FLASH, the serial communication briefly hangs that is causing an occasional serial communication error.   What I'm concerned about is how this short lockup will affect the two power supplies that the MCU is controlling.  The inverting buck converter is particularly a concern since it can short +24V to ground if its PWM signal sticks high for more than 50us or so. 

Was working on an EVAL board stm32G474RE which has FLASH of 512K and RAM of 128K. Everything was working fine on the EVAL board. Now we received the actual hardware which is a stm32g474CBU. Very similar to the EVAL board but the FLASH 128K and RAM of 128K.Very few changes were required for the new micro like the linker file. But started noticing a strange behavior where some of the global variables that were initialized in the code, did not have their values. As in the moment the program is downloaded and I hit the breakpoint in the main function, the values for the global variables are not there and just 0xFFs.It appears that the values of the global variables were not even copied from the flash to the .data section of the memory.text      data    bss       dec      hex59416 11528  26768   97712 17db0Any ideas. HII have a problem. Hi,I have a project involving an STM32F030C8T6 MCU. The datasheet says that pin PF0-OSC_IN and PF1-OSC_OUT have I2C1_SDA and I2C1_SCL as their Alternate Functions. When I go CubeMX to select them as such, it doesn't give me an option to do so, even though the datasheet says that it should be possible? How can I set them as I2C pins? If it's not possible in CubeMX, how can I manually do it in software? If that's not possible, could I be constantly reading the value on unused I2C pins and setting PF0 and PF1 to their values, because my I2C bus is already on PF0 and PF1. I was trusting the datasheet.Thank you for help.

Hi,MCU - STM32H7I have noticed that the CoreDebug_DEMCR_TRCENA bit in the DEMCR register is set by default if a debugger is connected. But, I need to enable it explicitly (as shown below) if the debugger is not connected.    CoreDebug->DEMCR |= CoreDebug_DEMCR_TRCENA_Msk; I want to use cyccnt and this is the reason why I want to enable this. Can I please ask why do we need to enable this explicitly if the debugger is not connected ? Also, Is the debugger enabling CoreDebug_DEMCR_TRCENA bit implicitly ?

Hi all,We deployed a lot of devices that have a STM32G431KBU6 controller.It basically has a foot switch to turn on/off a 12v DC motor and a rotary switch to control the speed.We use EEPROM emulator to save the speed setting.If speed setting is different from the stored value and there is no new speed change detected within a minute we store the new value. (to safe unnecessary writes)Clients mostly only set the speed setting once when they first use the product.So EEPROM emulated write is almost never done only EEPROM emulated read on start up of the deviceSomehow support receives a lot of complains about non responding devices. I have a custom design using the STM32G474RBT3 (128kB flash category 3 device) MCU.  In this application, the firmware needs to be updated remotely via the normal communication channels to the board.  In this case, it is Modbus over an RS485 multi-drop network of 76 boards, each with a unique slave address.  When the firmware is to be updated, a special utility can be run on a PC connected to the RS485 network that can be used to update the firmware on all 76 boards in sequence.I'm about ready to dive into the development of the bootloader and am reviewing the flash memory options which are very confusing to me (as a newbie ARM-Cortex M4 user).  Here are some basic firmware specs:1. Hello all,I have done my due diligence looking everywhere for an answer to this as well as trying many different variations of the code I will post below. My issue is my LCD will not display the ADC value from a trimpot any other way. I thought at first maybe I was not giving the ADC_ON enough clock cycles as per the rm. So I added 1, 2, 3, all the way to like 16 asm("NOP")  commands and I tried rearranging all manner of things in the offending portion. Hi, I am using MKI109V3 (STM32F401VE) as motherboard and MKI239A as IMU adapter. My Unico version is 9.16. Following UM2116, I tried everything in Windows 10, including firmware upgrade to 3.58.2 (latest), and all data display works fine in Unico.After that, I wanted to check if Unico also works in Linux as suggested in UM1049. I installed it in Ubuntu 18.04 and used "sudo chmod 666 /dev/ttyACM0" to open the serial port. I double checked and am sure that ttyACM0 is the relevant one for USB connection of motherboard.However, after opening the port in terminal and choosing MKI239A in Unico GUI, another error message shows that "COMMUNICATION ERROR! Please reconnect the board and click 'OK'". I am confused and was wondering what I should do for troubleshooting... Maybe I missed some settings?Thanks!

Hi all,I'm starting to use GreenPAK devices... I use the SLG46826V version which is reprogrammable, and I want to take advantage of the possibility of programming it on board with the I2C of the STM micro. The device I read and write regarding the registers .. but I have some difficulty erasing the NVM and EEPROM and reprogramming it. Has anyone done it? and has a code example.. Thank you

For firmware update I want to use the dual flash bank functionality of the controller.When switching the flash banks with the option bit SWAP_BANK in register FLASH_OPTR what happens to the program counter? Hello, I'm trying to implement a MPU test on a STM32L496ZG MCU that will be part of some self-tests in our application. The MPU is working as expected and an interrupt occurs when I try to write to a protected memory region. HelloI am new with using STM MCU's (STM32G474RET6) and encounter very strange reset behavior.In my application reset of the MCU can be done in 3 different ways. 1. Hardware reset - by pressing on button.2. Software reset - by executing NVIC_SystemReset() function.3. By swapping from bank 2 to bank 1 in dual bank mode.Currently I have problem only at bank's 2 image (reset of image burned to bank 1 done good in all 3 mentioned ways).Also, the reset problem seems to be somehow depended on firmware (bank 2 image) compilations. Sometimes after compilation (with even minor changes in firmware) it is working fine.  The problem is that after performing reset (by example pressing on button) MCU seems to be stacked or doing something and not enters even a main (while 1) loop where I am toggling indication led for test. We are using STM32H723 on a custom board.Right now, we are not measuring RTC calibration, we just have a possibility for the user to manually insert values of CALM and CALP elements in RTC_CALR register. We want to inform the user about resulting frequency (in the form of PPM correction).
