Hi,I plan to use LAN8742A and STM32H7 for an ethernet application.In the datasheet for LAN8742A there is this very interesting sentense on page 34 i the datsheet:The REF_CLK Out Mode is not part of the RMII Specification. To ensure proper system operation, a timinganalysis of the MAC and LAN8742A/LAN8742Ai must be performed.Does anybody have any experience or good advise on what they have done/used to get it done?Thank you

Hi,It may seem simple to you, but it confuses me for a bit of time after I saw:uint32_t isrflags  = READ_REG(huart->Instance->SR);and#define READ_REG(REG)     ((REG))​I have 2 questions here:​huart->Instance->SR should be an address, how does READ_REG(REG) get the data from it without using like:#define READ_REG(REG)     (*(REG))​Why there are double layers of parentheses for REG as ((REG))? I need to check to outcome of a FLASH write operation. EOP would indicate, that it was successfully, but it needs the interrrupt to be enabled to show the outcome. Oh well, then i use the error flag instead (because i dont want to use interrupts). But then AGAIN it needs an interrupt enabled to work. Why cant there be just a simple flag without needing of other things???  

Hello, when I try to compile the code in the Stm32cubeide program, I see the error that the flash.ld file does not exist. And there is no file with flash.ld extension among my files. It is not created by stm32cubemx.

Hey there !I'm trying to use an ultrasound range captor on STM32 Nucleo. To beggin, I'm on a very simple case of use : User press a button, it's trigerring an interrupt, handled by a callback function `emettre_ultrason()`. Then, when the callback function have finished its work, the MCU should continue its stuff, until a reflected wave trigger a new interrupt.`emettre_ultrason()`have to set a pin on `set` state for few x ms, then, to `reset` state. So the ultrasound emitter emit a wave during x ms.The issue is : if I use `HAL_Delay()` to wait these x ms, the function is blocked because of this delay : I never go through the instructions next to the delay, I never go back to the main loop, as I can see with UART Trace.I understood, by reading other topics as this one or

on STM32U575 when I enable the ECC, it is throwing a Hard Fault. I am just doing RAMCFG_Init() & StartECC() as of now. The system keeps resetting. TrustZone is enabled for the project, will that make any difference?

Hello,I need to implement an i2c passthrough between i2c ports i2c1 and i2c2 on my stm32g031k8 board. This MCU is connected to another CPU board using i2c2 port. Also, the i2c1 is connected to a temperature sensor, RTC,  and EEPROM. After power UP, until the CPU is ready, the MCU is master on this bus and can read the EEPROM/RTC/Temp sensor, once CPU power is ready, the CPU is master, MCU becomes slave. The CPU can communicate with these sensors using passthrough over i2c1.Do you have any example code I can refer for this?thanks

The original (Rev 1) datasheet said that STM32F030x4, x6, and x8 all had the Periodic Wakeup:The current (Rev 5) datasheet, which adds the xC variant, now says that only the xC has the Periodic Wakeup:So what happened?How/why did it disappear from the x4, x6, and x8 variants?

Hi!At what speed would code in external flash memory execute? At the clock freq of the external flash or the by main clock freq of the MCU, or by some combination of the two?I assume once the code is fetched from the external flash, it would execute at the main clock freq, but then again, it needs to be fetched first at the speed of the flash clock freq, right?

Hi, I have an issue when trying to copy a struct by direct assignment on STM32H743; The code:   void function(const structName_t *incomingStruct) { Signal_t sendSignal; sendSignal.desiredStruct = *incomingStruct; // <-- Causes unaligned access .. }  If desiredStruct consists of only 8 or 16 bits fields, everything works perfectly. If however, one or more of the fields is 32-bits, then the SCB->CFSR->UNALIGNED bit goes high and the programs enters the hard_Fault handler after line 5. I do have a quick fix on this; declaring the desiredStruct as __attribute__((__packed__)). However, as other projects running on STM32F7 use the same library without any issues, I would like to know if anybody has a local solution, or any idea of what's going on. The example project does not provide information on ADC4 register configurations, ADC4 seems to be different then prior peripherals (e.g. compared to L4).  ...\NUCLEO-U575ZI-Q\Examples_LL\ADC\ADC_SingleConversion_TriggerSW_IT_InitSTM32CubeMX configuration tool is close, but does not generated completely working examples (not for me at least).Merging the two together, I created the attached example (crude but functional).change these two #define's in main.h to switch ADC peripheral ADC1(2) or ADC4  #define MY_ADC_TYPEDEF ADC1 //ADC1 or ADC4  #define MY_ADC_IRQHandler ADC1_IRQHandler //ADC1_IRQHandler or ADC4_IRQHandler enjoy, hope this helps someone get started with the ADC4 peripheral on the STM32U5 

I am having weird issue with STM32F767 (configured to run at 200mhz) that needs to be SPI slave .. I configured it with 0,1 (clock low, second edge), hardware cs.. when master sends data at 350kbps everything is ok, when master sends at higher speeds output is random (like bits are swallowed).code is super simple just hal_spi_transmitreceive() in a loop sending 2 same bytes non stopit behaves like hardware can't catch up and start sending data late and slower than the clock...

I am using STM32H735,TFBGA-100 controller with 550MHz.I don't need ADC and DAC functions.1.Shall i connect VDDA,VREF+ and VssA to ground(Vss)? if yes, what is the recommended(through any resistor or  shorted)way to connect to Vss?2.If i did as above, what are consequences?3.Does it effect RESET function of controller?

In stm32f429t6, the uart8 dma rx function works on 3 out of 5 boards and does not work on 2. The same firmware was applied to 5 boards, and if only the uart8 interrupt was used without using dma, the 5 boards mode operated normally. So i was trying to generate pwm on all gpio pins of a stm32F103 for my application. Hi together,at work I have an Azure RTOS based project with UART communication. The basic implementation of ThreadX is working fine for toggling LEDs, but I need to do some SPI communication to an ePaper display and communicate with the MCU over UART.So I created two separate threads, one for the UART and one for SPI. The display thread is only doing some stuff when there is new data received over UART or we have a time depended change of the shown information.The problem is that the UART communication stops working after I received some strings. I created a basic example project that just doing UART stuff, it resends the received bytes.UART reception is handled via DMA and starts with HAL_UARTEx_ReceiveToIdle_DMA in the thread initialization.After some bytes are sent fast from my Mac to the board the retransmission is not working and the whole communication stops.

Hi All,I am using a STM32H723ZG Nucleo board. I am using the ADC in 8-bit mode. The clock is set to 96 MHz, and according to the application note it should use 6 cycles to sample and convert which would result in 16 Msps, but it seems to be between 8 and 9 Msps when measure with oscilloscope. (8.33 Msps) Application note. However I want the frequency to be at 8-bits set to exactly 5 Msps. If I would follow the application note:- frequency set to 30 MHz --> 30/6 = 5 However I see there are settings as following:So now I am confused on what settings to configure to get 5 Msps sampling frequency while keeping the CPU clock at 550

I want to scan (acquire) data from a vehicle can bus.1. Is it possible to prevent the ACK bit from occurring in CAN communication in the MCU?2. If I set the ID to receive all data, won't an ack occur?

I’m wondering which if these microcontrollers (STM32H7) has the most ADC Channels.I think the maximum is 36 but I want to know the specific model of MCU that this is, if anyone knows please tell me.I would also like to know if this is still a 16bit res.Thank you

Hi guys,so we have a more complex board and I wondered if it is somehow possible to use more than one external loaders with the CubeProgrammer software on the command line.So in general we are capable of writing these loaders and have several already running. For our current board two approaches come to mind but I do not find information on these:Approach 1 - Write two different loadersWe could create two different stldr files for the two different memories we want to address. But is it somehow possible to use both of them on the same command line command with the cubeprogrammer cli? As we are getting one single hex file with all memory addresses out of the build systemApproach 2 - Write one loader addressing both memoriesThis one could be trickier because as far as I know we can only have one StorageInfo struct with a linear memory address range. But do you guys know of something how that could be achieved? Cheers,
