STM32 MCUs Software development tools

Hi everyone, I'e been working with a fw stm32 MCUs products in the last years and I want to decide which is the best way to proceed in the "update to latest version" of CubeIDE.The point is: once i start a project, I usually keep the same CubeIDE version till the end, just to avoid regressions during time-stringent situations. At the end, I feel the need to update to the latest available "to be sure to have all latest bug-fixes" before starting a new one, even though the updates might not impact on my work.This need always, and I mean it, always end up with me uncovering as we say "hot water", some bugs (as live expression bug in 1.19.0) and running to recover from the heartache, picking all modifications applied on a new project (thank you git) started in an older "more reliable" version of CubeIDE.As of today my main question might be: based on your experience, among the last couple of years releases which is the most reliable version of CubeIDE you have used? Dear Sir/Madam , I have imported BSP package for the stm32F429zi-disc1 board to the stm32cube ide and connected to the disc1 board over STLink Interface and then tried to start debugging ; but I could not download the executable file and I have got the following error. I have also upgraded the firmware of the STLink on the Disc1 board to the latest one. But I have got the same result. Firmware version of the board is V2J46M33 . Hi, Recently, im go into some AI-integrated project. With the repos ST-model-zoo-service. Im wondering about these structural template. About how to import these template(like can i create a template like that, for both nested-project and structural tree like the st-model-zoo application code) in STCubeIDE?Moreover, Can you guys gimme some related documents about the hierarchical project's template and multicore template?

I have Windows 11 running on Parallels and can't get ST-Link working. Will I be able to complete the STM32CubeIDE Basics course on a MacBook Pro (MacOS) with Apple silicon? I'm asking because the course prerequisites specifically call for a Windows PC. I've been using Nucleo-F411 and F446 boards for 3rd party training exercises with no problem.

Dear community,we are using custom binary images, that need to be flashed to our stm32 controllers for debugging. Images contain some additional information not contained in elf-file so flashing the elf is not sufficient.With JLink debug launcher we can simply do this:But with ST-Link (both STLink GDB server and OpenOCD) this is not allowed.So I wanted to load the binary via an additional entry in "Load Image and Symbols" (which effectively calls STM32CubeProgrammer for flashing):But with that I am facing another issue: I need to reduce SWD frequency to 3.3MHz or even 1MHz, otherwise the flashing does not work:Error: Unable to get core IDError: No STM32 target found! Had the same issue, pins get lost when exporting with CubeIDE. I opened the exportet symbol file and they are not there, so it must be a CubeIDE or UltraLibrarian error. However, the STM32 MCU I wanted to use is also in the standard KiCad Library "MCU_ST_STM32F1", so I just used this one. Although it is more time consuming, you can consider labeling the nets or adding comments according to the pin names of your CubeIDE project. Edit: moved from the old thread Pin naming export (to have more chance for answer).

my project is making TF card a Udisk ,I use cubemx generate keil project, when I use AC6 -O0, everything goes fine,I connect USB, the Udisk display , read ,write is OK, but when I set -O1 or -O2, the Udisk won't come out and shows unknown USB device,when I set -O3 is fine,I try to set  optimize level group by group , only "Middlewares/USB_Device_Library" -O1 or -O2 cause this problem, I dont know if it is ST USB library problem

Hello,When I use MX's file browser (when clicking File > Load Project ... or File > Save Project As.., for instance), it won't show the contents of some directories.It shows me the contents of my home folder, but if I try to browse my Desktop, Documents, or Downloads folders, it shows nothing. And yet, for whatever reason, it has no problem showing the contents of my Movies, Music, or Pictures folders.I've looked in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files & Folders (as well as Full Disk Access, fwiw), and there are no entries showing that MX has been restricted in any way.However, MX does show up in the App Management section, which has the description "Allow the applications below to update or delete other applications," and the toggle is turned off. AFAICT, there's only one change in behavior if I enable this toggle and restart MX: when I try to browse any of the problematic folders, there's a pause and my cursor briefly becomes a blue beach ball before I'm s

When I try to log into myST from the IDE, it literally does nothing. I click on the button, but no window pops up, nothing happens in the browser, nothing happens in the IDE, no new windows are created. I don't even get any output on the CLI (if I start the IDE from the CLI). What is going on here? This is my version

I was following the tutorial (Get started with STM32Cube for VS Code: from installation to debugging - YouTube) when I managed to find a nasty footgun. STM32CubeMx will allow you to create a project whose name contains a space, and then if you set the toolchain to CMake, it generates the code fine, but if you load the project into STM32Cube for VSC and try to build, you will get all kinds of cryptic CMAKE error messages caused by the space in the project name.Now, STM32CubeMx does have some input validation. It only prevents you from initially generating the project IF you have space in the name and you set the toolchain to CMake BEFORE you generate the code, but that's it. If you save the IOC with a space, save the project as with a space, you generate under any of the other toolchains then switch to CMake, you'll trigger this error.I burned a few hours on this, so I thought it would be worth bringing up to save someone else the headache in the future. I wish you are doing great!My problem is, I'm working on nucleo-f439zi board, in the reference manual, in register Flash-OPTCR, bit 4 is BFB2.But, when I choose the correct board (Nucleo-F439ZI), and go to debug mode, then SFRs, I only find F429 registers, no F439!In another words, if I'm correct, there's no SVD for the nucleo-f439 on STM32CubeIDE v1.11.A picture is attached, sorry for the low quality.Thank you in advance.

Hello,I’m working with the STSPIN32G4. I was able to program the MCU once successfully, but since then neither STM32CubeIDE nor STM32CubeProgrammer are able to detect it anymore.The main issue is that I did not expose the BOOT0 pin on my board, so I can’t easily force it into system bootloader mode.Has anyone faced a similar issue?Is there any workaround without physical access to the BOOT0 pin?Would SWD still work if the application firmware misconfigured the debug pins?Any suggestions for recovering the MCU in this situation?I’d really appreciate any help or guidance.Thanks in advance!

Hello,Descriptor limits is wrong, I found what in ST network examples the RX TX descriptor address is set at lower regions, but cubeMX does not allow to set to lower than 0x3410000, limit is at 0x34100000, everything is work without problems in D1 ram on N6, I need more ram and set at lower address, I ques this limit is related to H7 and maybe others MCU's, for N6 the limits is different. 

Hallo, I'm facing with a problem of IDE v.1.18.1 crash starting from early today (OS Windows 11).This version has been being used al least 3-4 months , and even yesterday everything worked fine.Once I try to open IDE, it pretends to look for some updates and crashes almost immediately.There are no spaces in paths; I didn't make any changes at all.Does anyone has a clue, what could go wrong?I still can run IDE 1.12.1, but i cannot update it to ver. 1.18.1.      

stm 32 nucleo -G071RB , TARGET NOT RESPONDING I am not able to run after dumping the code once i use the run commond after dumping i am getting  arget is not responding, retrying... While uploading application or FSBL ELF File it is showing a dwarf error!! I tried downloading new version of STM Studio but similar problem occurred in that too; Could you suggest other alternate method so that I can fetch data.

Hi,Could someone please explain the meaning of this image? It's a snapshot from CubeMX GPIO section.Does it imply that PA12 and PA10 can be used as a single pin, or does it mean something else?

I upgraded STM32CubeIDE to version 1.14.1 today and can no longer connect with my target.  The process  of updating CubeIDE also updated my STLink-V3PWR debugger to V3PWR V4.J3.B1.P4.  Now, programs that downloaded and ran just fine yesterday won't download with the "Target no device found" error.  The STMCubeMonitor-Power (version 1.2.1) software can take control, power on the target, get the temperature, reset my target board and can run the ULP Bench Test and report a ULPMark Score.  That leads me to believe STMCubeMonitor-Power can download and run a program and my target board is still working. I don't have any other target boards available to try right now.STM32CubeProgrammer gives a "Error: No STM32 target found!" I'd appreciate any suggestions about how to fix this issue before I try rolling back the firmware on the debugger.Here's the error I get in the CubeIDE Console windowSTMicroelectronics ST-LINK GDB server.
