STM32 MPUs Software development tools

Hi, According to this article, https://community.st.com/s/article/FAQ-STM32MP1-Bring-up-procedure , the devicetree files generated by STM32CubeMX are incomplete. We have created a CubeMX project for our stm32mp151c and made some modifications and generated device tree files. However, these device tree files can not be used to compile the tf-a and u-boot components with the developer package. Therefore, we have tried to follow the Lab-BringUpFromPartNumber (from the article above). However, the lab compares the bring up device trees with the mx DK2 board using the stm32mp157c. In our case, there is no board with the stm32mp151c, which means that we can't generate default device trees to compare and merge the missing nodes to our device trees. Is it possible to compare and merge our device trees (that are created for stm32mp151c) with the default device trees for the DK2 board with stm32mp157c exactly as Lab-BringUpFromPartNumber describes? If not, how should we know exactly what to add

Pkg-Config is not supported by STM-IDE ,and cannot be installed. This tool really speeds up the library selection process. Perhaps somebody know any alternatives that STM-IDE does support?URL:https://marketplace.eclipse.org/content/pkg-config-support-eclipse-cdtArnas

System windows STM32MP157F-DK2 board. The binary I can load and the device connects but it throws the above error. I can find nowhere to set any path in the software.

Hi,How can I connect to STM32MPU via SSH from inside STM32CUBEIDE.?? Is there a way we can do that?This really helps in live debug of things.Alternatively is there a way I can live debug an application running on A7?

Hi All,i am using stm32mp1 cpu,, recently i m facing floating rx issue on debug uart, with physical debug cable , i could default state of RX lines were pull up, and when i remove the cable, the RX lines is floating and its voltage fluctuates between 0.9-1.4 Volts,when i power up unit, with out cable, the u-boot code waiting for receive events, i see the u-boot cancel the normal boot because (USART_ISR) lot of error were seen like noise, eob, cmf, Fe, bits , so most of error bit were set along with RDR data to read flag,i am using FIFO enabled, with 16 byte rx buffer, tried with disabled fifo, still same problemThere is pull up is required, but can this be fixable in software u boot and kernel ? some thing like soft reset/ or any clear pending interrupts ?Any suggestion would be helpfull

I have set up the device, 5V 3A wall PSU and connected to the USB stlink connection. Connecting to the onboard stlink I can recognize the board serial number but the programmer fails to recognize the device. What am I missing? The device works perfectly in stand alone mode. Hi,I'm trying to create a debug configuration in STM32CubeIDE to debug Linux Kernel but I can't find any related article about the issue. I want to use gdb with ST-LINK (OpenOCD) as JTAG device to debug the Kernel that I have already compiled.Any suggestion?

At 11:50 , the commands are listed to generate the dtb file from dts file. But when i try to follow it , it is not working and unable to generate dtb file from dts file.I have OpenSTLinux dunfell 5.10.10 flashed on the STM32MPU.I also tried folllowing this tutorial but this also does not seem to work on latest version : https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_compile_the_device_tree_with_the_Developer_PackageAny leads will be appreciated how to achieve it as in latest SDK it is not working.

I try to use the STM32MP1 in engeneering boot mode to develop the co-processor's firmware. Unfortunately the code generation is not complete, meaning initialization for all GPIO pins (exept MCO Pins) are missing. Is it possible to activate the code generation for the GPIO pins which are used only by the M4 co-processor? Thanks an best regards

Hello,I'm trying to develop an application that use an STM32MP1 Series (STM32MP157A-DK1 for the moment)My application need inter-processor communication between the A7 and M4 CoresI had generated my project with STM32CubeMX and the project is successfully created for the M4 core with a ready to use main.cppI then followed the wiki page How to manage OpenSTLinux project in STM32CubeIDE and compiled the Generated .dts files to a .dtb file and uploaded it on my board. (with a u-boot project)The new configuration works well on the board (my newly updated I2C port is now well recognized on CA7 so the configuration update worked) but when i'm trying to launch the CM4 project from STM32CubeIDE it fails with an error popup saying: "Failed to insert all hardware breakpoints: you have requested too many hardware breakpoints/Watchpoints" (even if i have only one!) and the followings console message:Info : Ne

Custom board STM32MP15AABMX Cube version 6.2.1I just switched from v2 of the Distribution ecosystem to v3. After updating MX Cube to work with the latest and re configuring the kernel and device tree files I'm running into the listed issue.I am able to build and deploy everything to emmc and initially boot the kernel to a command prompt. Upon the next reboot, The system fails to boot to a command prompt and the otg peripheral complains about dwc2 49000000.usb-otg: Overcurrent change detected.Any ideas why, or tips for debugging?

I want to use the STM32CubeIDE to debug the M4 on the STM32MP1.I setup the debug setting for debug probe ST-Link (OpenOCD). If I use the automated generation of the script, it refer to [find target/stm32mp1x.cfg].This is not part of the default installation of STM32CubeIDE 1.6.1 and it is not located in https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/OpenOCD/tree/openocd-cubeide-r3/tcl/targetIn general it doesn't seems to be the MP1 openocd files for the MP1 within the windows installation.

I work on Windows and use the STM32CubeIDE 1.6.1. I want to program and debug the M4 part, On the A7 part Linux is working.My current state is, that The A7 is in Bootloader mode and the DFU per USB is connected and shown in Windows (Gerätemanager) as USB device. There is no serial port.In the debug settings STM32CubeIDE require a serial port.With STM32CubeProgrammer USB1 connects and seems to workAt the end of the day I want to create and debug a M4 program.ThxSteffen.

I've tried using WSLg into windows 10 to start a project using the STM32cubeide but it fails. The ide is launched but those not automaticaly download stuff, but manualy do. If click new project, target selector animation goes and then I have this message "STM32 target or STM32Cube example selection is required". So can't select mpu. etc...What is the simplest way to start dev :full linux machinevirtual machineWSLg /w10 should workThx for any help.

When you create a project, CORE_CM4 symbol is added to properties by default.However, if you look at stm32mp1xx_hal_rcc.h, the CORE_CM4 area is still disabled. Is it a bug? Can I ignore it and use it? Or please tell me how to solve it.

Is there any reason why M4 is reset multiple times when entering debug mode in STM32CubeIDE? Is this normal?For example, in the case of an application that toggles GPIO, GPIO defaults to low while entering debug mode, then toggles, then goes low and toggles again. When entering debug mode completely, GPIO stays low and then toggles. (Original operation)It doesn't matter whether it completely enters debug mode and works, but it seems that m4 is reset several times while entering debug mode. I want to know why and is this normal?

Is it possible to use the CubeIDE on OSX for debugging firmware for STM32MP1?The interface is lacking some features and the debugging configuration is completely different.Also I can't manage to make it work.Here is what shows up when I launch Debug Configurations:

Good afternoon. Using CubeMX, I created an empty project for the STM32MP157A-DK1 board. It compiles without errors. But when I try to start debugging in engineering mode, I get a message that there are too many breakpoints. When I try to start debugging in production mode, I have no connection between the board and the debugger. Where did I go wrong? Sincerely, Alexander. 

Hello everyone, I'm configuring my STM32MP157C-DK2 Board pins and i want to make two SD Card partitions availabe. For the first one i chose the SDMMC1 and attributed it to PC10 pin for the second one do i need to choose SDMMC2 and to attribute it to another pin (for ex. PC6) or is it wrong ? Or can i divide later in the device tree ?  

I am able to build my STM32MP1 Linux project. Right away this is different from the guide and has an error message that says: Connection "" not available at the top.Other guides on the wiki mention that the Target Status should be online. Mine is stuck offline and I don't see any indication on how to set that up either.I currently have 3 USB connections to the STM32MP1 Discovery board. One USB C to a power supply, One USB C, and a micro USB to my PC.

I try to configure the pins of the MDIOS controler of the STM32MP157C in STM32CubeMX version 6.2.1 . The datasheet states, for pin PA10 -ALT11 the function MDIOS_MDIO. But I cannot select this function for PA10. I also cannot find MDIOS in the devices column.Is MDIOS not supported by CubeMX or did I make something wrong?

Hello,I'm trying the NAND boot on our STM32MP157AAB3 custom board but until today I could't make the ROM code load the tf-a image from this memory.I'm yet able to boot from uSD (SDMMC1), eMMC (SDMMC2) and serial NOR (QUADSPI). For uSD I partitioned the device as described in wiki, for eMMC the only way I found to make the ROM code able to load the image is programming it via STM32CubeProgrammer (same procedure of uSD won't work), for NOR I wrote it from u-boot with sf commands.Our board is equipped with Winbond W29N08GVSIAA parallel NAND, connected to the FMC default pins as stated in wiki. The NAND datasheet report all the ONFI parameters requested by the ROM code, none of the OTP is blown. I'm building tf-a, u-boot and linux kernel from the ST repos aligned to STM32MP15-ecosystem-v2.1.0 release, the dts are created starting from STM32CubeMX output with USER CODE added according to wiki.When I boot from another device, in u-boot I'm able to detect, write and read the NAND device. Hi,I just upgraded my STM32CubeProgrammer to 2.7 and now getting error that can't find tf-a-stm32mp157c-dk2-serialboot.stm32.I tried this on three other images that have worked in past, get same error.tf-a-stm32mp157c-dk2-serialboot.stm32 is not found on file system for any of these images.Specifics:target: stm32mp157c-dk2host: Windows 10Images built on WSL.Unfortunately I deleted 2.4 before installing 2.7, also tried 2.6, 2.5 and get same problem.Have any suggestions ?

Burning STM32MP1 via USB DFU works fine. When I try to burn via USART I stick with errors:GetPhase command not acknowledged after 3 retriesParition 0xbb not found in TSV FileFlash layout is the same in both cases (attached). Is it possible to burn STM32MP1 from anything else than USB DFU (USART or JTAG/SWD) ?
