CubeMX2? HAL2?

Hi,

I was just reading about the new STM32C5 processors. The press release states:

Enhancements to the development ecosystem include a new STM32CubeMX flavor, STM32CubeMX2, which introduces a preview feature that allows faster access to reference code thereby accelerating development and easing code reuse. Also new in the STM32CubeC5 embedded software offer, the latest code-size optimized hardware abstraction layer (HAL2), gives access to all MCU features and allows more of the MCU’s memory to be used for application code.

What is CubeMX2 and HAL2?

Great to see your interest in our STM32Cube ecosystem.

Together with the release of support for the STM32C5 series we are bringing some updates to the STM32Cube ecosystem. These updates includes new versions of both the STM32CubeMX, named STM32CubeMX2 and a version 2.0.0 of our HAL drivers, shorten to HAL2. Unfortunately we have not been able to release the STM32Cube support for the STM32C5 yet, but it will be available next week.

 

At the moment, as @Ghofrane GSOURI shared, you can find some more information on the HAL2 with the preview release on GitHub.
