NUCLEO-Boards don't get recognized as ST-Link device via docking station

I have the following boards:

  • NUCLEO-L476RG
  • NUCLEO-F466RE
  • NUCLEO-F401RE

I connected them via USB to my docking station of my laptop.

I started STM32CubeProgrammer and wich shows that it couldn't find no ST-Link device.

I looked into the device manager which showed everything connected.

I started the old STM32 ST-Link Utility and it worked.

What is going on? Is this a bug?

well it hardly seems like desirable behaviour.

Perhaps the Java based code has difficulty enumerating them through a hub, or isn't using the right registry keys to look for things.
