STM32 Programmer USB DFU fails using GUI

I can successfully program a STM32L082 over USB when using STM32_Programmer_CLI.exe but not using the GUI. I can see the device under USB but I get "Error: Data read failed" followed by "Warning: Connection to device 0x447 is lost" when clicking the connect button. I have previously had no problems using this method on the same board (possibly with an earlier version of STM32 Programmer).
