Posted on February 17, 2016 at 11:46This time it's going to be really tough, so every suggestion is well appreciated.I'm using SPC5 studio and I'd need to run some code just on a single core to avoid any kind of lockstep intervention. So, I need to configure the device in DPM. Flashing the device with a modified pattern in the shadow memory lets me connect it with JTAG in DPM with no problem.Then, starting from a LSM project, in the linker file i put 96 kB instead of 192 kB to handle with the DPM configuration. Now I'll need to add a different MMU initialization , as stated in http://www.st.com/st-web-ui/static/active/en/resource/technical/document/application_note/DM00168395.pdf , but I don't know where. As it is, the MCU hangs at startup and the main is never entered.The main question is : is it feasibile, starting from a wizard project, of SPC5 studio for LSM to create a DPM working project?

Posted on February 03, 2016 at 10:47Hello,I have a project for SPC560D MCU which builds without any warnings and errors. On one computer, I am using a node locked license version of SPC5Studio and on another machine (which is at Lab), I am using free trial license. The node locked version of SPC5Studio is updated to v3.7.x while the free trial version is v3.5.x. Please find installation details attached for both the versions. When I build the same project (without any change) on these two machines, I am seeing erroneous behavior for the binary generated by the node locked machine. I tried comparing the map files generated by both builds and these two are matching. Has anyone observed such behavior? What is the reason? ST team, can you please respond to this ASAP?Thanks.Mike

With it, I got the PE universal multilinker (USB-ML-UNIVERSAL), and I'd like to use it instead of SPC5-UDESTK with UDE to connect to the SPC56EL70L5. Do you know if it possible or not? Posted on February 03, 2016 at 15:20 Hello everyone, in the past day I tried to save some data on the flash memory of the micro controller, but without results. Reading the documentation, I cannot understand exactly how I can write data on a specific address of the flash memory and retrieve it. I want to write 3 int 32 starting from 0x0008_0000, the High Address Space. My application is loaded on 0x0 of the flash, so I have space. At first I tried *(ULONG*)0x00080000 = ulConfigValueTimeCrc; *(ULONG*)0x00080004 = ulConfigValueStatCrc; *(ULONG*)0x00080008 = ulConfigValueFlashCrc; where the three values aare unsigned int (32 bit). I tried to retrieve them with ulConfigValueTimeCrcLoaded = (*(ULONG*)0x00080000); ulConfigValueStatCrcLoaded = (*(ULONG*)0x00080004); ulConfigValueFlashCrcLoaded = (*(ULONG*)0x00080008); The strange thing is that at 0x00080000 is written the correct value, but the other memory area remain to 0xFFFFFFFF. I'd need to set the linker in such a way that one out of 32 general purpose register won't be never used by the compiler because I need it for some assembly code lines. GOAL: measure the period of 16 input signal period to increase precision (counts 16 rising edge).I'm using eMIOS0 ch1 to count 16 periods and on match interrupt I sample the eMIOS0 ch0 internal counter to calculate time since last match. Problem is detecting rollover on eMIOS0 ch0 because like explained in the document, on each eMIOS0 ch1 match, eMIOS0 ch0 flag / overflow is also set!!! Please help... Thanks!

Even the example projects don't work with that option, while if I left it unselected the examples work only if i put the external clock (this makes me think that because of my jumper configuration I am already working with the external clock).  The stack with oscillator bypass is attached.Thank you very much.  

Posted on January 28, 2016 at 07:54Hello, I have a system with an SPC56EL60 with CAN communication at 500kBaud/s. 20 messages are send with cycle time of 200ms. I am using SPC5 Studio and the integrated CAN drivers and configured it to have 16 RX and 16 TX mailboxes. In the past, this setting works fine but since I changed the cycle time for all messages from 200ms to 20ms it seems that I am ''loosing'' messages over the CAN bus. Investigation of the SFRs with the debugger shows me two things: 1) If I use Real Time Access to SFRs of FLEXCAN fewer messages get lost and the communication works better (maybe because the mailboxes are unlocked when the debugger reads SFRs?) 2) Only the first message buffer is used for RX, all other message buffers are correctly initialized but never written by the microcontroller I think because only the first mailbox is used incoming messages are stored there but where overwritten by other incoming messages. How do I have to configure the driver to use

Posted on January 28, 2016 at 15:55Good morning to everyone,I have a little problem with the universal debugger.In my testing application on the discovery board, I set the reading of a input register SIUL.GPDI48.B.PDI.Now, reading the manual, I understand that is possible, via debugger, change the value of the registers. i tried what the guide tells. In the SFR view, I selected the register and tried to change is value, but with no result. The register is not protected. If I try to monitor them with SFR, I don't see the values, but ''???????'', and if I try to do an operation on one of them (reading or writing), the micro go in exception.Modules that behave like this are, for example, CRC, ADC, LINFLEX.For the ADC module I tried various configurations with the wizard, but nothing. I cannot understand why the ude cannot see them.P. Can I use the same driver for shadow flash also? I see few bits for shadow flash inside the data structure. Any example for using Censorship feature using the shadow flash?Thanks.Mike

Can you please explain the underlined statement in detail?If both CW and SC registers should match for values, how the statement 1) can be true?The best mode for your case is to use the censored mode.Private Flash Memory Password and censored1) Set NVSCC0(CW) , NVSCC1(CW) different to 0x55AA.     Set NVSCC0(SC) , NVSCC1(SC) equals 0x55AA.      IMPORTANT : NVSCC0(CW,SC) must be equal to NVSCC1(CW,SC) otherwise your chip will be completely locked.Thanks in advance.Mike

I cannot find what type of memory test the unit perform: abraham, galpalt or others? I am misunderstanding the unit capabilities?Thanks. #test #stcu #ram

Posted on January 19, 2016 at 11:43Hi, I have written code using CodeWarrior which runs on the Freescale device without issue. When trying to run it on the ST part, I find that during the compiler startup when RAM is being initialised, the SWT is enabled.  With the same binary on the Freescale part the SWT is disabled at this point in the code.  The startup code does not initialise RAM within the timeout period, and the ST device resets whereas the Freescale part does not. Are the two parts identical? How do I disable the WDT using the NV user options word during the compiler startup code before RAM is initialised? Does CodeWarrior generate code which is compatible with the ST parts or should I switch compiler?

I want to protect the device flash memory - code and data both from read and writing once final version is programmed. Has anyone tried this? Whether PLS UDE supports such kind of protections?I read about the Censorship topic (section 5.1.3/ page #75) in reference manual. Can this feature serve my purpose? Has anyone used this? How this works for code and data flash? Can someone explain this elaborately?Thanks in advance.Mike
