 Hi, I trying to using VL53L5CX with my jetson nano.Once I want to using it with arduino uno, but uno is not possibly for using with it.So I trying to connected directly it on my jetson. I'm trying to followingVL53L5CX_Linux manual that downloaded from here.https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/stsw-img025.html But for 3.2, I get some trouble. I use a VL53L3 with the STSW-IMG033 Ultra Low Power API. I use the settings in the settings mentioned in AN5769 "Using the VL53L3CX under ultralow-power mode" for maximum detection under daylight: Full ROIMacro period 200Signal limit 1500Sigma limit 60Valid distance 400mmUsing interrupt mode: generate only an interrupt when these criteria are met I need reliable detection of a human standing in front of the sensor at max 400mm. Without any cover, the sensor functions just right. WIth a cover glass (I used the cover glass shipped with the VL53L3 Nucleo addon) I get strange results.The reason I used this cover glass for this test is that it is shipped by ST to use with their reference design. Upto about 200 mm the measurement is quite reliable. When the object distance is increased, the measured distance starts to decrease. Becasue of this I get "valid measurement" interrupts upto 1200mm. With another cover, the measurement can be 400mm at a distance of about 200mm so

HiI am trying to use this on a raspberry pi4 running ubuntu 2404. I am able to run make successfully but on trying to run the generated binary I get./spdkit error while loading shared libraries: /lib/aarch64-linux-gnu/libc.so: invalid ELFI don't know what to do to fix it. I did not install the linaro toolchain as I was not cross compiling - is that likely to be causing this error ?

I'm extracting the histogram data from the VL53L8CH. In the 8x8 mode, we are limited to few bins (~18) per reading. Is there a way to configure the sensor to oscillate the starting bin configuration so that I can get better range with the same bin precision? For example, in a cycle read bins 0-17, then bin 18-35, etc. If this is possible, is there guidance for how this can be done? Following the code from Example_12_cnh_data.c, is it possible to setup multiple configurations within a loop, such as vl53lmz_cnh_init_config(&cnh_config, 0, 18, 1), vl53lmz_cnh_init_config(&cnh_config, 18, 18, 1), etc?

I am trying to run multiple VL53L5CX-TOF-sensors with a single Pi Pico to be able to stitch together multiple of the sensor images.However for this to work I have to change the i2c addresses of the sensors.I am trying to use the set_i2c_address function for this.I have read the steps from the usage guide about enabling/disabling additional sensors on the same i2c bus via the LPn pin but whenever I try to call the set_i2c_address even with just a single sensor connected I get  RuntimeError: VL53L5CX: set_i2c_address error.Currently I am using the Pimoroni Firmware that provides a driver accessible via micropython that just calls the ULD firmware / driver for the VL53L5CX. I am not sure if something about my approach/order is wrong or if there might be an issue with the ULD driver itself.I would greatly appreciate any help/advise. Hello,This is in regard to the question I posted at the webinar on AI-powered gesture recognition with Time-of-Flight sensors held on 3/11.  Can the orientation of the VL53L8CX ToF sensor be detected in case it is moved and possibly gets inverted after training is done?  I'm interested in correctly detecting gestures like LIKE/DISLIKE and SWIPE RIGHT/LEFT even if the sensor has been turned upside down after the overall device is trained.  The solution should work correctly for left- and right-handed persons.  It's ok to add MEMS sensors to the overall project but I prefer trying to solve problems with software first rather than just throw hardware at them, as long as the extra software doesn't bog down the MCU.Thanks in advance and best regards,Bruce

Hi! I've been testing the VL53L4CX sensor for the past few months and have finally decided to take a look at its additional histogram data. My most recent test is a measurement of an empty black bucket with a white sheet inside (to increase reflectivity). If your VL53L8CX gets past the 'is_alive' function but you cannot get it to run, it might be because you are running on a big-endian machine, and the ST code you downloaded assumes a little-endian machine. Try swapping your vl53l8cx_is_alive function with this one. Hi. I have question regarding VL53L8CX ToF sensor. The minimum distance is 2cm. The space between the objects being measured is less then that. Was wondering if it will be possible to reflect the light off from a mirror at 45 degrees to increase the distance between sensor and object being scanned? Thanks for the assistance Jonathan

Dear ST Team,I am having difficulty finding the ULD library for the VL53L3CX chip. The complete library is too large for my chip's Flash memory, and the ULP library's ranging capabilities and accuracy do not meet my requirements. Could you tell me if there is a ULD library available for this chip, similar to the one provided for VL53L1? Thank you for your assistance.

Hello, I am currently trying to connect a Pololu VL53L8CX breakout board https://www.pololu.com/product/3419 with flying wires to an STM32 Nucleo-144 F767ZI via the Arduino I2C example.  https://github.com/stm32duino/VL53L8CX/blob/main/examples/VL53L8CX_HelloWorld_I2C/VL53L8CX_HelloWorld_I2C.ino  I already read most issues regarding the connection and loaded the I2C scanner suggested here https://github.com/stm32duino/VL53L8CX/issues/5 into a separate file. The scanner returns no I2C devices found. I then wrote a small Input Output program to test the serial connection to the Nucleo without the Pololu board, and the communication worked. The level shifter also seems to be ok, It is an NXS0108, let´s hope NSX fixed their issues with that iteration. For the I2C initiation, I only used wire instead of wire1 without results. I am completely new to the CubeIDE, and the API integration is also something I have never done. It would help me a lot if you could

 Hello everyone,I am very new to the STM ecosystem and don’t know much about it. I am using an Ubuntu PC and trying to work with the X-NUCLEO-53L8A1 expansion board and NUCLEO-F401RE.There is a software package available for VL53L8CX to detect the presence of someone: "https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/stsw-img042.html". I downloaded it along with the Linaro GCC toolchain from Linaro Releases. After running the Makefile and trying to start the application, I encountered the following error: "./spdkit: 1: Syntax error: Unterminated quoted string".  At first, I thought this was a command-line issue, but I suspect something else is wrong. Since the X-NUCLEO-53L8A1 communicates via I2C, I checked for available devices with: "sudo i2cdetect -y1".However, no I2C devices were detected. I also noticed that my NUCLEO board is recognized in ST-Link mode, which might be preventing proper I2C communication(i am not sure !)I’m a bit lost and not sure where to start troubleshooting.

Hello,  Could someone please recommend a TOF sensor(or other) for reliable plastic sheet detection.Application: Measure the width of a sheet or film of plastic in production environment.  We would use  two sensors to detect the edges of the film.  We would move the sensors in/out on a carriage mechanism until the edge is detected. Continuous measurement,  plastic film would be passing by the sensor(s).              Sensors to be mounted between 5 and 20mm from target, plastic film.               Sensors must be able to detect all types of plastic, from clear or transparent (eg. Cling film) to black (bin liners)  IR light source?              Sensors must detect presence or absence of plastic film

Hi，I have two questions to ask.1、How do I adjust "VL53LX_MAX_RANGE_RESULTS"and "VL53LX_MAX_USER_ZONES" if I want to get a best single target of data?Would it be better to change them all to 1? It's not in the manual.2、VL53L1CB has a single-target get function "SetSimpleData" that I can't find in the L4CX API. Are there any other functions that can help determine this?Thanks.

We are trying to assemble a laboratory plant from https://github.com/gergelytakacs/AutomationShield/wiki/FloatShieldThe ball position sensor (VL53L0X) is positioned at the top of the transparent policarbonate tube. We checked the reported ball positions by moving the ball in increments of 5 mm and noting the measured value. The results look almost linear without any obvious issues.Since the example controller was still not working as it should, we checked the measured ball position with an external reference video system during the actual operation. The graph below shows the ball position from the bottom of the tube.There appears to be large discrepancies in the middle of the tube.There are internal reflections of the ball on the sides of the tube - could this cause issues in reported ball position? Is it possible to measure only the first reflection with these sensors? This would practically invalidate all other reflections since those paths are longer.

Hello,We are investigating the VL53L7CX presence detection ToF sensor. In the datasheet its mentioned it needs to be mounted in a clean environment "The customer is advised to use a clean assembly process until aprotective cover glass is mounted." and the application note TN1532 "Recommendations for assembling dToF sensors without liners in an environmentally clean place" - states that the sensors should be mounted in a clean environment grade 1000.  Our manufacturer dose not have a 1000 grade clean room but he has 10000 grade. What would be the consequences of mounting the sensor in an 10000 grade environment ? Thank you very much!  

Hi all, I'm using pololu VL53L7CX sensor carrier board interfaced with Nucleo-L552zeq EVK for ranging application. For first level, iam using the Simple ranging application that comes with software package. Sensor api calls till getting the data seems working fine. But when viewing the result, the status is always 0. For first frame its 6, but i understood it will be 6 for the first frame. The expected status should be 5 (or 9), but for me its always 0. For now i have set the resolution as VL53L7CX_RESOLUTION_4X4 with ranging mode as VL53L7CX_RANGING_MODE_CONTINUOUS. Additionally, am not using INT pin or LPn pin. Hello Guys,  currently, im trying to get the VL53L0X to work with my MSP430 Controller but my biggest problem is the communication with the Device. Ive copied the Software from Artful Bytes and changed it to match my board. Here is the Link: https://www.artfulbytes.com/mcu-i2c-driver   Ive tried to write a simple byte to the Sensor but all it does is pulling SCL and SDA down right after transmitting the last digit (write). It doesnt even give an ACK and it willbe pulled down until i cut the power supply. Writing Byte Ive also tried to read a byte from the Sensor and strangly it seems work. All i did was to write a simple code to read right from the VL53L0x. There was no init for the Sensor but it didnt pull the line down. Reading Byte I need help with my Sensor. Do i have to write some data to an other Slave-address before writing to 0x29?    Sincerely EddyK

Hello, I am having trouble with the VL53L4CX Sensor for my Capstone Design Project. My group created our own breakout board for the sensor, and I was able to get it up and running with the VL53L4CX_SimpleRanging project provided by ST.However, I am having trouble figuring out the setup for our own project. Here's my steps to get to my problem:I create a new project with Board Selector, NUCLEO-U575ZI-Q.I click Software Packs, and Select the dropdown for X-CUBE-TOF1.I select VL53L4CX under the Board Part Ranging dropdown.I setup a GPIO pin on the Nucleo for XSHUT, see below.  I setup I2C2 with Fast Mode, and connect the VL53L4CX breakout board to the Nucleo Board (SCL to SCL, SDA to SDA, XSHUT to GPIO, AVDD to 3.3V, IOVDD to 3.3V, GND to GND). I also setup UART1 for terminal debugging.In Middleware and Software Packs, I choose X-CUBE-TOF1, and choose the GPIO for VL53L4CX _XSHUT and I2C2 for VL53L4CX BUS IO driver.Then, I setup the code as below:   This

Hi, I'm trying to get the VL6180 Time-of-Flight (ToF) proximity sensor working with the SAM E54 Xplained Pro evaluation kit. I am working with the ST VL53L8CH sensor for research purposes. To generate a point cloud from depth measurements, I am trying to get the directional ray to each zone. I am wondering if there is a more detailed explanation of the configuration for SPAD maps in this diagram:For example, in a similar sensor, the AMS TMF882X sensor datasheet has the following information for how SPADS map to each zone:If not, is it reasonable to assume that the 16x16 zones uniformly make up the 45° x 45° square FoV, or is manual calibration with a known scene necessary?
