I implement the eeprom emulation library for the STM32F423 controller and was wondering if the variables are 16 bits can I use the virtual addresses like this: uint16_t VirtAddVarTab[NB_OF_VAR] = {0x1, 0x2, 0x3};Or do I need to keep space like 0x1, 0x3, 0x5 because the variables are 2 bytes wide?

Hello,Please be patient, I am quite new to this. So, I would like to implement a virtual EEPROM for my F042k6 mcu, i saw that there is the https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/x-cube-eeprom.html but it only seems to cover STM32G0 Series, STM32G4 Series, STM32L4 Series, STM32L4+ Series, STM32L5 Series, and STM32WB Series. Is there any other way of doing this? with the Hal Driver? does it still work with x-cube? Do you guys know any good examples? Thank you :)

Hi all.I'm trying to run external mode simulation using:Matlab R2022a.CubeMx 6.2.0STM32 Mat\Target(not sure which version) Nucleo L476RGI have created a simple LED example to test the external mode and I used the Embedded Coder to integrate it with the CubMX Project file. The problem is when i'm trying to run in external mode, I can't do it because the Monitor&Tune button is grayed out and I can't press it. In the Hardware Implementation settings, I have checked the External Mode at the Interface section. Could you guys please help me where I went wrong?Thanks a lot.

Hello Community,I am currently working on a project about "Digitization of sensor signals". The sensor signal is to be digitized with an ADC and passed on to the PC via an interface, e.g. USB or Ethernet. Ideally, the ADC works in continuous mode at 2 megasample/s and 12 bit. The amount of data that occurs during continuous digitization will probably only be manageable via Ethernet. Alternatively, discontinuous recording with 5ms recording each and a pause of 45ms. Currently I use a Nucleo-F429ZI. Programming can be done via HAL or Matlab/Simulink. Matlab Simulink provides a suitable GUI for programming, among other things for Ethernet. However, the GUI is not available for all Nucleo boards. Unfortunately, the F429ZI is not supported. I am currently considering how best to implement the project. I would like to process the digitized data afterwards also by Matlab. In this respect, it would make sense to carry out the programming in Simulink. For this I would also be willing to switch

I'm using Atollic TrueStudio 9.3.0. I know it's not the latest, but now is not the time to change anything.I've been debugging my custom boards no problem, for years, including setting at stopping at breakpoints. All of a sudden this morning, the debugger no longer stops at breakpoints. I am not aware of anything changing. I power cycled the target board, the ST-LINK/V2, and my host computer, but the problem remains. I recompiled the whole program (Rebuild), but the problem remains.Please see the image below. Notice how the icons to the right of the checkboxes appear to have a slash through them. THIS IS NEW! I've never seen it before and I don't know what it means. The same slash appears through the breakpoint icon whenever I set (toggle on) a breakpoint from the source code, whether I'm currently debugging or not. I need permanently save configuration data (several bytes only) in STM32G030J6 in SO8N package. I tried to use EEPROM emulation SW but not working - very robust and complicated. Is there some easy way how to do this? There is no other EEPROM and no possible to connect.

Hi,i have a problem with generating C-code for a STM32F407VG microcontroller unsing the STM32-MAT/TARGET package and embedded coder. I can generate the code using the simulink library blocks supplied by the support package (CAN_Send, GPIO_Read, etc). But for every type of block from this package, only one segment of code is generated. This is not a problem for most of these block, as the functions can be called multiple times. But for some other blocks this does not work, as you can set certain settings in the properties of the block, which are then lost if code is only generated for one of them.An example: the CAN_Filter block has to be configured correctly for the microcontroller to recieve CAN messages. With each CAN_Filter block i can configure the microcontroller to a limited number of messages, so i need multiple of these blocks in my model. But when gnerating code, all but one of these is eliminated, leaving only the code for the block placed first. This means that the other blo

we have experience checksum change ( or data corruption ) anomaly in various stage of production assembly process, this anomaly occurs 1) when we power up the system, we got checksum error, does it mean that the data from default factory setting was changed inexpertly ? 2) after we save the calibration data, the calibration data was changed or corrupted during the additional validation operation such as pressure verification. 3) i would like to know the following info for the 8 Kbit serial I2C bus EEPROMa) when the system need to write data by system architecture design ?b) when the system need to read data ?c) during the power up, how does the system communicate with the EEPROM ?d) what could contribute to the "data corruption" ?

Hello Everyone​When I try to save data to external eeprom using stm32g030 with hal libraries, I can't save any data but I can do the same with other stm32l or stm32f0, stm32f1, stm32f2, stm32f4 series processors. What is the problem ?Has anyone had this problem and found a solution?Thank you.

Hello all, I am using keil uvision to direct download the code in a STM32L552MEY6P MCU. My code just toggles a pin. The MCU is connected to a V3 programmer using SWDIO,SWCLK,NRST,GND and VCC. Every time I program with Keil, I am not able to initiate the program and I don't see the pin toggling. It works every time with a cube program software. These are setting on my keil uvision This is my settings on cube programmer Any recommendations what settings can be wrong on Keil?Thank you

I have developed firmware on STM32F413 with STM32CubeMX using FreeRTOS. I have several tasks and PPP connection over Serial (PPPoS). I am using KEIL IDE for debug and everything is OK in debug mode and after debug without resetting MCU. But when I powered off it and then power on again, operations were 8X slower (sending data over UDP on PPPoS can be slow!). There is no error in data transferring, only the unexpected slowdown.I have tested it with STM32CubeProgrammer too by flashing .hex file and running it with STM32CubeProgrammer, and everything is OK! After I power down and on again, the problem recurs.I notice that in debug, KEIL uses object files. But I cannot understand what is different between the power-on MCU situation (booting time) vs. debug time.How I can fix this problem?Can anyone help?

I have found that under the windows 11 control panel the ST-Link driver is not correctly recognized. Please see the attached picture about this. There were no problems of this sort on windows 10, it only occured on windows 11. I tried to reinstall the driver without success.

hello , I have this problem when im using simulator mode , when i run through my code , first its stepping through in a very vague manner , also its giving me this on the command line error 65 : access violation at 0x40023C00 : no 'read' permissionerror 65 : access violation at 0x40023C00 : no 'write' permissionso i added a random ram location because im confused on what location to use I added this on the command line MAP 0x40000000,0x47FFFFFF READ WRITEbut it executes a few instruction after which im at the fault_Handler location , so im definitely doing something wrong.My controller is STM32F401CCU6 series.Also why is my target option in keil Xtal(Mhz) grayed out and what ram location should i be adding in order to get rid of this problem for my board? also my processor RAM location looks as below  Thanks,

We're currently using STM32F373CC micros in several of our designs. Part of our standard design has an EEPROM connected via I2C. We have our own hardware layer that is tried and proven over the decades. However, it relies on the I2C port pins having pull-ups connected externally.On some of our new designs we have designed out the pull-up on the SCL line and have set the port pin to Push-Pull mode. In theory, this should be no problem. However, what we've found is that the micro seems to be treating the port pin as open-drain regardless of the setting. For this particular design, we're using PF6 and PF7 as SCL and SDA respectively. With no pull-up connected, the SCL line is flat-lined. With internal pull-up enabled, the SCL line is pulsing, but the rise time is so long it's not working.Nothing in the reference manual or the datasheet says anything about this issue. In the errata sheet we have (V4), there's quite a bit about the GPIO and I2C, but nothing that seems to relate to this.For

Hello, I want to write/read on the flash memory. For that I made a small program (attached). My program works on Keil5 but when I switch to Atollic TrueStudio when I want to debug an error message tells me No source available for "__do_global_dtors_aux() at 0x80001ac". Dear,on STM32L083 I use internal eeprom. I found out, that when I use functionHAL_FLASHEx_DATAEEPROM_Programand during execution of this function the power voltage of mcu falls down (uplugged battery from device) - then in eeprom are saved wrong data (probably only in sectors which I wanted to modify by calling the function above).I use BOR Level1. Also I tried to activate PVD and in its IRQ callbacks I just added while(1); until the mcu goes to reset.Is there any solution for that? Thank you very much, Jan.

Good morning!I'm facing two kinds of problems, both when we are trying to boot the system by a remote application.The first one is caused by a non writing of the RTC backup register. As shows the example below:  As we can see, in the STM32L151RBT6A I can't write from the backup registers with address 0x40002864 forward, problem that doesn't happen in the STM32L151RBT6 Version. Following the datasheet, we can see that the new version has 20 thirty-two bits backup registers. There is any assumption why i can't use all of them? Just the first 5 ones and without change any configuration, the forward register is not writable? There is any division between the first 5 backup registers and the others 15?The second one consists in a fail of flash, in the very first moment we receive the boot by GSM and we save the code in a external flash, the problem is that the micro seems to corrupt the external memory, it saves the code in the wrong address. I'm wanting to save user data (less than 50bytes) and factory data (less than 100bytes) to internal flash, however the user data may changes everyday and it may overrun datasheet's 10 K erases and writes. So whether the MCU or the other flash sectors where saved main program will work well if the sector (such as sector 3 ) at which EEPROM emulate breakdown? I'm using STM32F42x.​​
