Hi,I'm designing a NFC reader using ST25R3916B. Due to space and distance constraints, I'm considering stacking the PCB antenna 20mm above the ST25R3916B board. The required tag reading direction is on top of the antenna. The connection between the 2 boards will be 2 copper pins soldered on both boards. Please kindly see the illustration below.I wonder if this is workable and would appreciate it if I could get some advice or recommendations on the impedance matching, parasitic capacitance / inductance and EMI considerations.Thank you and best regards,Dave

Hello ST team and Guys here. ​We have a new project that requires us to measure the a position of a moving object with a range of 100 mm with an accuracy of +- 1 mm. I was wondering if by attaching a NFC tag to the object and a reader with a similar 100 mm read range, could we sample based on the time of flight or time stamps of tag read or tag count to achieve a +-1 mm of position accuracy. Can the algorithm based in NFC readers convert the tag time stamp or count to be used as position sensing with such high resolution.  Thanks and bestLK

The EMC cutoff frequency of ST25R3911B is defined as 11.75MHz with L= 270 nH, C= 680p. However, the antenna resonates at 13.56MHz. I can understand if the cutoff frequency is defined between 14 -18 MHz to suppress the 2rd harmonic mode. Could you give some idea why you select the 11.75MHz, how the 13.56MHz signal transfer the filter?

I'm working on getting the ST25R3916 to communicate with an NTAG215 on the target application, and had it wired up with the antenna today. When I send a measure amplitude command, I get 89 = 1.159 Vpp without a tag in the field (the same value I got from the NFC08A1 dev kit).I have it sending an ALL request every 2 seconds, and when a tag is at the center of the field aligned with the antenna, I measure 49 = 0.637 Vpp when a tag is in the field, but no receive-related interrupt is triggered, just the same TXE and NRE interrupts as is typical during the 2s cycle.Is 0.637 Vpp sufficient to communicate with an NTAG215? Is there anything else from the ST25R3916's perspective I can measure to debug?

Hello everyone, I am trying to use the NFC TAG App on my iPhone to read and write st25dv. I often meet an error command saying  Read/Write memory command failed: com.st.st25.STException: Error CMD_FAILED. I believe I meet this command when two situations occur but I don't know how to solve them:a. I tried to read the EEPROM as soon as the RF_Write command is finished, but it's not that perfect, and I2C seems to collide with the RF command. I researched some information and it seems that I can use polling. But when I use the NFCTAG_IsDeviceReady function(is it the right function to do polling?), it always sends me OK during the RF_Write process, so I can't tell the finish time.b. When I try to use the WriteData function to write data with more than 256 Bytes into EEPROM and then read the data using the NFC TAG App, the error will occur. However, I have tried to reset the MAX_WRITE_BYTE to 2048, I don't know why the problem still occurs.Thanks.

Hi,I am working with a ST25DV64. I succeeded reading and writing via I2C. I can also read via RF interface. But I have not succeeded writing via RF interface.I checked the static registers and there is no write protection,  I have one area and RFA1SS = 0.Do I miss something? Thanks for your help

HiI am a complete beginner when it comes to Smart Cards/Javacards, Secure MCUs and NFC.We specialize in Bitcoin/Crypto Custody and are exploring Smart Card (Javacard) based secure storage of end-user private-keys.We want to design and manufacture a Javacard based Smartcard with ePaper display that shows details about the operation being performed on the Smartcard. And we want this smartcard to be a passive device without any battery just like normal smartcard. So the ePaper display has to be powered by the energy harvested from NFC.After initial exploration, we found that we need to use ST33 Secure MCU connected to a ePaper display through SPI along with ST25DV-I2C NFC chip to enable the NFC interaction with Smartphones and harvest RF energy to power the MCU and display.We want to do the exact same thing as described in Application Note - AN5233 with a ST33 Secure MCU instead of STM32 MCU. This is as far as we could get and do not know how to proceed further. Even if it is powered by an external battery.I have tried to make changes to the software and have implemented the following function:CUSTOM_NFCTAG_WriteI2CSlaveMode(<your instance>, ST25DVXXKC_SLAVE_MODE_NORMAL);but it still doesn't read the tag.What could be the reason why I can't read the tag now?    

Hello everyone,I have a project in mind where I want to create a business card with an NFC tag that redirects to my portfolio page. My main concern is ensuring that the NFC tag URL redirect works on as many phones as possible. I've heard that Type 5 tags don't work on Android versions above 9. Is this true?
