ST25 NFC/RFID tags and readers

We are planning on using a NFC antenna with a 50 Ohm UFL connector. Does ST have any examples of matching their device output to 50 Ohms for this type of antenna?Would we use a single-ended output instead of the differential output?What would be the impact in terms of signal strength or read distance. Would the power be reduced by 50%?

I'd like to make nfcPoller interrupt driven. I've tried registering a callback so that exampleRfalPollerRun() gets called on interrupts but that didn't seem to do anything. I am using an ST25R95 controlled over SPI by an STM32L452RE MCU. It has been running just fine and reading NFC tags using a custom driver for it, but recently has stopped working. The ST25 chip appears to stop responding to SPI commands after it enters the idle command. Previously, it was able to wake up from idle after being reset and then given an nIRQ_IN pulse. This issue seems to be getting worse, as sometimes the chip doesn't even respond at all now even after being power cycled.Does anyone know why this might be happening? I can't figure out what is wrong.Here is the schematic for our RFID reader, mostly copied from the dev board for this chip. 

Good afternoon, currently I was working on this board, ST25R3916-DISCO kit.From what I read from the forum that most of contents are teaching how to change the Read-Out Protection for the microcontroller chip, such as STM32H7, STM32F2, etc.However, what I'm planning to do is to assign different ST25 tags with different Access level/ Read-Out Protection, so when the reader detects there's a tag, it will show a certain level of information for different tags.For example,when Tag 1 is detected, reader LCD will show UID and Type of tag.When Tag 2 is detected, reader LCD will show UID, Type of tag and Memory Size.Thus, are there any possible ways to achieve changing the the Read-Out Protection for ST25 tags?Take note: I will attach a picture for the ST25_Tags which used for this experiment.

Hey,I am using the Nucleo-G474RE board with the X-Nucleo-NFC08A1 NFC Shield and use the X Cube NFC6 library in the Cube IDE environment. The initialization seems to work and there are no errors when building the code, but the demoCycle() function doesn´t work. It can only get into the state DEMO_ST_START_DISCOVERY and then breaks out of the switch function and if I comment out the break of the case it reaches DEMO_ST_DISCOVERY but the if statement gets an error and again breaks out of the switch statement. I can´t find the source of the error and don´t know what to do anymore. The gNfcDev seems to be in the wrong state and doesn´t change to the right one. Can someone please help me?

Hi, I want to ask about is it possible to probe MISO output of ST25R3916 to read the data or UID for ST25R3916 Discovery Board?Because I currently want to observe whether can differentiate the different tags by looking at the waveform.I had tried to probe the MISO and SCLK (Serial CLK) with Saleae logic analyzer (Logic 16), but the waveforms didn't meet my expectation.And I had discovered after the reader detected the tag, the waveform will change but only happened at the start phase, rest of the waveform phases went back to normal.Please take a look on the attached photo, thank you so much for helping!

Hello,I am currently working with the Nucleo-L476RG and the NFC03A1 Nucleo expansion board (CR95HF reader version).I have flashed the X-CUBE-NFC3 embedded software with STM32CubeProgrammer and would like to use the ST25PC-NFC tool to communicate with tags.However, the board isn't recognized by the ST25PC-NFC (error message : NOT CONNECTED)  while I had no trouble to detect it with Cube.- Is it possible to use this board with ST25PC-NFC software ?- Do I need a dedicated firmware ?Thanks in advance !Cordially,Nicolas Meunier.

HelloI'm trying to setup i2c communication from our microcontroller atxmega128a1u to the st25dv64kc.I've been trying to set it up via a twi interface of the microcontroller and no matter what command I send to the s25dv I always get a NoAcK response.There is no device in the RF field.What could be the cause of this and how could it be fixed?Thanks,Alex

Hi,i want to use the I2C Communication between the X-NUCLEO-NFC08A1 and the NUCLEO F401RE.My Problem is that i don´t know what i have to change on the X-NUCLEO-NFC08A1, because there is default SPI communication.Should i only add the resistors for the I2C or must i also remove the resistors for SPI communication.Please help me how to use the I2C connection on the NFC08A1 board.

Is there a middleware and software package that supports X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1 like x-cube-nfc4, x-cube-nfc6 and x-cube-nfc7 middleware and software packages in STM32CubemxIDE, if there is, how can I add it to STM32CubemxIDE? How can i use the ST25R3911B-DISCO without the GUI of ST? Maybe with the help of the Framework, but how can I use the code or is there any documentation, because i can not found any.  

Hello everyone! I have difficulties to run the 2.8.0 Linux Demo (the latest one) the X-NUCLEO-NFC08A1 with the ST25R3916B on Linux/Raspberry both with SPI as well as the less oftendused I2C. I don't have the interface board "ARPI600" to interface the Nucleo to the RPi, so I've made a manual connection. I have tried two different Rasperries (very old RPi 1 and a modern RPi 2 Zero W), with SPI and I2C, yet no success with either connection method with both RPIs. I am providing +3.3 and 5V from the Rasperry to CN6, PowerLED on the Nucleo is on.I checked after all my failed trials - others did make it the same way:https://community.st.com/t5/st25-nfc-rfid-tags-and-readers/st25r3911b-disco-to-raspberry-pi-not-working-using-same/m-p/228869 I am using the same mapping to the RPi pin header. Hi,I am looking for an appropriate RFID reader IC for reading multiple tags simultaneously. The reader should be able to read 50-300 RFID stickers attached to packages stored in a container. Also the reader should cover a distance of 1m - 3m. Is there any reader IC available from ST. I saw one ST25RU3993, but its evaluation kit is obsolete and not recommended for new design. Is there any reader IC available from ST that can read multiple tags at once?Regards,Shijo Thomas

I am looking for an HF reader board to which I can connect an external antenna.  I own the STEVAL-253916B and it might be possible to modify it to accomplish this but I can't locate the Gerber files on the ST website to make sure I'm doing it correctly.Any suggestions?Thanks,Ted 

HelloWe are currently using ST25DV64KC nfc-v tags in our products, and found a possible bug during production.We set the NFC password in the last production step, using a self-developed android app (as, to my uderstanding, it cannot be done via i2C), via the 0xB1 command. transceive( 0x02,0xB1,0x02, password_slot,8_bytes_password )Most of the time everything works, but there have been some occurences where the java transceive command failed, launching an exception. When this happens, upon inspection, the tag behaves as like badly programmed with an unknown password!!!To my understanding, this should not be possible, as your protocol tranfers the password twice to avoid exactly this... and when this happens, the device is bricked as the RF pwd cannot be reset via I2C Details from testing:This happens alot more with some phones. During testing,  A Pixel 6a needed hundred of password writes before the password broke, while a Samsung A54 can almost surefire break it in

Hello everyone,I am using an NFC08A1 for my project and I would like to use the AAT. I roughly understand what happens in the AAT algorithm. However, I don't get any noticeable improvement when I apply it. The range in particular remains almost the same.An external antenna is used in the project and I would like to achieve optimum performance. Which default values do I have to change in the algorithm to achieve this? And when does it make sense to call the AAT? Later I want to switch between two readers. Is it necessery to call the function everytime I change the reader or is it possible to store the best configuration. Rgds

I am using the ST25R3918 and the 'pollingTagDetect' example from the RFAL library. This chip does not have the ST25R3916_CMD_TEST_ACCESS register.How can I modify this library?

Hello everyone,I'm trying to compile the code wich is give at this address  on STM32CubeIDE and I have some problems when I want to compile the code. CubeIDE choose automaticalement the wrong "stm32l4xx_hal.h" and don't bring the one wich is in my workspace. It seams that CubeIDE include an external "stm32l4xx_hal.h". Do you know what handling I have to do it to include the good .h ?   Best regards. Paul  

On both boards the demo application is installed, Oneshot on the STEVAL-SMARTAG2 and PollingTagDetect on the X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1. When using the STEVAL-SMARTAG2 without battery it can be read however I always see the same sensor data.  On the debug port its clear the program does not execute the function 'MEMS_Sensors_ReadData' When energising the tag with a phone the function is executed. So the tag needs more energy. The app does not show sensor data but the debug port of the tag shows the MEMS_Sensors_ReadData printing sensor data. The PollingTagDetect needs to send more power to the tag, how can i increase the charging time?  

Hello everyone, for my project, I need to read a tag in two different places. Currently I am using an X-Nucleo-NFC08A1. I would like to add an additional X-Nucleo-NFC08A1 reader.The communication is done via SPI. What adjustments do I have to make in the X-Cube-NFC6 to include an additional slave. Theoretically the pins SCL, MISO and MOSI should be the same.The selection of which reader should be addressed is only done via the cs pin.Rgds

Hello, I want to perform data read/write operations using NFC. However, I have some concerns due to NFC standards. ST25DV64KC and PN5180 module both adhere to the ISO 15693 standard. Has anyone previously done read/write operations using the C language? Additionally, with the M24SR64-YMN6T IC, which module can I use for read/write operations? Can you assist?
