I am using STM32H7R7L8H with MX25L12833F external memory. I created a project with has bootloader, application and external memory loader.Before starting this project I opened another to test if I can read/write/erase MX25L12833F. By using XSPI in Quad mode I could do all the operations.   Below I shared the configuration: XSPI1: EXTMEM_LOADER: EXTMEM_MANAGER:   With this configuration I built the project and it generated external loader. In STM32CubeProgrammer I can read MX25L12833F memory, it can do mass erase too but it can't do sector erase.   I created an application hex which is located at 0x90000000 and tried to write this file to external memory by using generated loader. Hi everyone,I am working on a custom PCB designed , but I’ve run into a hardware design constraint and would appreciate some architectural advice on the best way forward.The Setup:Main MCU: STM32L476 (Programming via STM32CubeIDE / HAL)Coprocessor/WiFi: ESP32-WROOM (Intended to handle AWS IoT connections)The Constraint: The PCB designer connected the STM32 and ESP32 exclusively via an I2C bus. There are no physical UART traces connecting the two chips.The Original Goal: The initial plan was to use the STM32 to write firmware directly to the ESP32 over UART, or to use a UART software bridge, and then use UART for passing sensor data to the ESP32 for AWS publishing.The Dilemma: Because the ESP32 ROM bootloader requires UART0 (TX0/RX0) for flashing, I realize a software bridge from the STM32 over I2C to flash the ESP32 is physically impossible.My Questions for the Community:The Initial Flash: Aside from tack-soldering temporary wires to the ESP32's TX0/RX0 pins to perform the initial flas

Hello,I am planning to use STM32H562RGT6 in my product to communicate and update my firmware via CAN FD.To plan that, I am using STM32CubeMX 6.17.0, the datasheet and the AN2606 (Rev 70).And I would like to use only one CAN FD to communicate and to update my firmware in this MCU. But it is impossible to do this in STM32CubeMX. I have only access to FDCAN1. And there are no FDCAN2 on the pins.So, is it a problem in STM32CubeMX ? Or should we use FDCAN1 to do firmware updates via FDCAN for this MCU ?PS: it is the same problem with the MCU STM32H562VGT6 (and maybe other similar MCUs) 

Hello,I've been working with the new VS Code extensions for several weeks, and debugging feels quite unstable. I'm using a j-Link Plus. At random times, I suddenly can't debug anymore, everything seems to freeze, and in the Debug Console I see something like this:The number (6760 here) increases by hundreds per second and will never stop. Every time such a random debug freeze happens, I see this last line with the counting number box, always reading 4 bytes somewhere (different addresses), as if some read action hangs in an endless loop. Only way to get it working again is by closing the whole debug session and starting anew.Sometimes I can debug for an hour without this issue, sometimes I get this every few minutes. It's not related to some code position, happens in different debug configurations (flash / attach to running), happens in different projects, with different (or no) watched variables, on different PCBs, with different cables to the debug probe, with different clang op

Is it possible to program a STM32G071 from a raspberry pi running Raspbian OS? Is there a USB to serial driver for this?

I don't see ARM 32/64 bit in the system requirements of STM32CubeProg. Is it possible to get this running on like a raspberry pi 4? I am interested in CLI onlyor do you have other suggestions on how i could do a flash of stm32 chip (STM32G070CB)

Per the title really - I've just tried to install the Linux version on a raspberry pi running Raspbian / Debian 11.7 'Bullseye' and, well, NOTHING happens.If I click 'SetupSTM32CubeProgrammer-2.16.0.linux' nothing happens at all, if I select "execute in terminal" I get a brief flash of a terminal window, a mystery file of 0 bytes is created (named with a single unicode character and 'P').If I run it from the terminal I get:$ ./SetupSTM32CubeProgrammer-2.16.0.linux-bash: ./SetupSTM32CubeProgrammer-2.16.0.linux: cannot execute binary file: Exec format error  Also why is a tool for programming microcontrollers a 286Mb download for which we must give ST our blood type and inside leg measurement just to be allowed to download it? :flushed_face:

I have followed the datasheets and tried to calculate my reference voltage. I am supplying steady 3V on Vref+ pin but I wanted to confirm this because I have some troubles with the ADC precision.So I read the internal voltage both on my card and on a nucelo-C092rc. This is my results: My board:Vref+ = 3.0 * 1659 / 1805 = 2.755Nucelo board:Vref+ = 3.0 * 1665 / 1641 = 3.043However I am quite certain that the nucelo boards are using 3.3 V as reference and my board are using 3 V as reference.So if I swap the 3.0 V from the datasheet into 3.3 V I get the following:My board:Vref+ = 3.3 * 1659 / 1805 = 3.033Nucelo board:Vref+ = 3.3 * 1665 / 1641 = 3.348Which match more my expectations, can someone confirm or deny this typo?I add my adc init function:u16 uiDelay = 0; ADC_CFGR2.CKMODE = 0x0; // Clock mode set to ADCCLK ADC_CCR.PRESC = 0x2; // ADC prescaler set to 48MHz / 4 = 12MHz ADC_CFGR1.RES = 0x0; // Set 12 bit resolution ADC_SMPR = 0x07; // Sampling time set to 1,5 ADC clock cyc

Hi,I would like to use a Raspberry Pi to program the STM32F722RET6 micro controller via the RPI UART. My Problem is, that the Cube Programmer is not made for ARM architecture, so it cant run on the Pi.I cant find a solution for this, apart from emulating a x86 environment on the PI which I would like to avoid.Is there any simpler version of the Programmer which could run on a Raspberry PI?Thank you for your help.

It would be nice if the further versions could be running on case sensitive file system on macOS.Currently I need to use an USB key formatted APFS only. Then i can run the installer and install the programmer on this USB stick. As I most of the time only need the command line tools (*CLI) I copied the binaries and some folders with data on my case sensitive disk. They work fine. Only the GUI is not possible on the case-sensitive file system. 

Hello, While using the Nucleo-F446ZE, I observed that pin PA1 remains at approximately 2.6 V during reset, even when an external pull-down resistor is applied. On this development board, PA1 can be configured as the RMII Reference Clock. However, I have removed SB13, so this function should be disconnected and no longer influence the pin. Given that no internal or external circuitry should be driving this pin and considering that an external pull-down resistor is present I would expect PA1 to be held at 0 V during reset. Why the pin is not pulled low in this condition?

Hello,if you are using macOS and STM32CubeIDE and need it productively you should currently refrain updating your macOS. Due to a bug in Eclipse (https://github.com/eclipse-platform/eclipse.platform.swt/issues/2621) text selection does no more work via dragging your mouse or using shift+arrows.There is already a fix but STM32CubeIDE does not provide the fix as update as of now.I already filed a case. 

In the "Debug Configurations" window (or at least that is the only place I have verified it so far), when scrolling down to access the options at the bottom, the mouse pointer might accidentally hover over a combo box. If you continue scrolling, the combo box cycles through its options down to the last value before the main window continues to scroll.This can cause (and has caused me) quite a few headaches while debugging one of my projects.I believe the correct approach would be to disable this scrolling behavior for combo boxes to prevent accidental changes.Best regards!

Also, when I try to add a JPEG image directly in TouchGFX Designer, it does not work.Which format is preferable between PNG and JPEG for TouchGFX?Why is JPEG recommended in some MCU documentation?Is JPEG intended only for dynamic loading with software or hardware decoding?What is the recommended way to use JPEG images with TouchGFX, if possible?Regarding audio on STM32U5, which audio format is recommended such as WAV, MP3, AAC or other?Is there a specific library recommended for audio playback on STM32U5?Is there an optimized solution provided by ST?Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi,I would like to program the STM32F091 with the internal bootloader via UART (AN2606).My special case is that I have to do the programming not from a PC, it's a another embedded system that will control the programming of the STM32F091.So I'm looking for source code (C or C++) that I could migrate in my embedded system?Does this exist?Thanks

Hi, Our product uses 2 x STM32WB55 MCUs, where one as Server/Coordinator and the other one as Client/Router for Zigbee.  However, our customer prefer to use customized PAN ID or Extended PAN ID so that more controllable and traceable by their application software later. Hello - I have a product I am commercially developing for a company - an industrial sensor system - STYM32G474 x 8 - using them for their very fast ADC - all good so far. I am using a SPI bus to get all the data back to as Linux SBC (pi CM5 for now - might change next year - needs 2 cameras and NVME).I would like to update all the STM32G474 over UART (for now) then over to SPI for production - using the raspberry pi cm5.Is there an open source C++ / python program that can do this from ST? - something like the old "https://github.com/stm32duino/stm32flash" but supports the newer chips? perhaps OpenOCD would work but that is even more connectors etc.

We've been succesfully using stm32flash in the past to flash our STM32 MCU that are attached to Raspberry Pi servers (no desktop or X). As we moved on to STM32G0 it seems that stm32flash is no longer working and we are forced to use STM32CubeProg to flash our firmware. Is it possible to install STM32CubeProg on a) ARM such as RPI, b) server with no desktop?To begin with, the installation instructions require the installation of OpenJFX which is not relevant (nor possible, in lieu of X) in this case, we intend to use only the CLI interface through scripts that perform the flashing.Then, trying to run the installation script on the RPI fails since the provided installation binary is for x86.

I'd like to use a STM32 Nucleo from my raspberry pi  (raspian 64 bit ARM).From my x86 PC I use this https://www.st.com/en/development-tools/stm32cubeprog.html#st-get-software and download the linux version of the tools: this works. The same version doesn't work on raspberry pi as it's arm64 based: I get an " cannot execute binary file: Exec format error" error. I found no version of stm32cubeprog for raspberry pi arm on the STM web site (I tried macos arm version but get the same error than when setting up the linux version of the tool). Is there a way to get stm32cubeprog to work on raspberry pi  (raspian 64 bit ARM) ? How and where to get binaries?

Swapped through XSPIM to port 2 and operates in memory mapped mode. MCE1 is activated across the entire address range using the AES-STREAM Cipher.External PSRAM: Connected to XSPI2. Swapped through XSPIM to port 1 and operates in memory mapped mode. MCE2 is activated across the entire address range using the NOEKEON-BLOCK Cipher.The issue occurs when running an LZO decompression algorithm. The algorithm reads compressed data from the PSRAM and writes the decompressed output back to the PSRAM, while the code is being executed on External FLASH.At some point during decompression, the core completely freezes, no HardFault or BusFault is triggered, and the debugger permanently loses its connection to the core.We have tried multiple approaches to resolve, including the official er
