STM32 MCUs Boards and hardware tools

HiI am using the function below to erase the flash, but am not able to do the same.I have to erase from address 0x0803E000UL i.e. page 124The function does basically 1. HAL_FLASH_Unlock2. HAL_FLASHEx_Erase(&erase_init, &page_error) - where page is 124 3. reads the erased flash area 4. HAL_FLASH_LockAm I missing something? Hi All, I am a newbie to STM32L432 boards. I am seeing that when i power the STM32L432 board with USB then everything is fine and my code runs and LED stays solid RED.But if i try to start the STM32 board with only VIN i.e. +7V then the RED led i.e. LD1 keeps blinking. I have checked that i followed this -   This procedure also works fine - 1) Power up the board using VIN of +7V and LD1 keeps blinking.2) Connecting USB then the LED LD1 turns to solid RED and then disconnect that cable after 5 seconds.3) Then continue to use this. I am guessing here that it is something to do with the bootloader not being able to run from Flash ? But how come just connecting the USB makes it run fine. Is this a known bug ? 

Hello  I tried to upgrade the STWIN.box Wi-Fi Module with the instructions provided in the  STM32CubeFunctionPack_DATALOG2_V3.1.0.  i tried dragging the HEX file to tera term with the following settings attached in the images below. i was not able to successfully upgrade the wifi module.i am using the stlink-v3minie with the boardi really appreciate the help of community memberskind regards Jose John

I'm working on some automation for our project using the STLINK-V3PWR. For that, I need to control the GPIOs. Based on the information from this page, I managed to get a working solution. Unfortunately, when compiling on Windows, I ran into a linker issue with the provided STLinkUSBDriver.dll. It seems that I'm missing the corresponding .a file for the linker. I have made an adapter that sits between the STLink V3 and the device that needs to be programmed, so that I can give T_VCC on the STLink side 3.3V from an external supply.So far I have used 3.3V as VCC on the target as well, but I am considering lowering VCC on target to 3.0V instead.As far as I can tell from datasheets, there shouldn't be an issue with keeping T_VCC on the STLink side at 3.3V while VCC on target is 3.0V, but I wanted to check here if anyone has something different to say about this mismatch. If it's a bad idea, I will need to have adapters around with T_VCC 3.0V and others with T_VCC 3.3V depending on which target device I work with, which in this case is a bit of a hassle.

Hi ST Community — quick question about the MB1280 fanout and the ESP-01 socket.I’m trying to get UART comms between an STM32H747I-DISCO and an ESP-01 (plugged into the MB1280 ESP-01 socket) but I can’t get any response from the ESP.SetupSTM32H747I-DISCO (MB1248) + MB1280 fanout (3V3-C01 rev)ESP-01 in the dedicated ESP-01 socket on MB1280STM32 ↔ ESP via STMod+ P2 (20-pin) — USART2 on PD5 (TX) / PD6 (RX)USART2: 115200 baud, RX handled with interruptsWhat happensSTM32 transmits AT commands (verified on a logic analyzer).ESP-01 powers.But: STM32 receives zero bytes — no boot messages, no AT replies. Has anyone else experienced a power supply brown-out/crash when running the NUCLEO-H755 (or any other NUCLEO) at the maximum clock speed with quite a few peripherals enabled?  I am suspicious that the 5V/0.5A power provided by USB is not enough to power everything at full speed when using both cores, 100Mb ethernet, and various counters and serial interfaces.  Reducing the clock to 400 MHz seems to resolve the issue.From looking at the board schematics, it appears that using the 5V EXT power supply input will feed the main 3.3V LDO regulator directly which supports 1300mA of current.  However, I don't think this LDO can handle the additional thermal power loss (1.7V x 1300mA =~2.2 Watts of heat) without adding a large heat sink...

Hi,is there any way to use the pads pc8 and oc9 on the morpho header of tve nucleo h753zi? They are lebeled but dont receive signal. I see the signals on the according pins of the zio header.right now I am thinking of drilling the morpho pads away and connecting through the hole patched from the zio header. I was hoping for a better way thanks for helping

Hello,I have a STM32G0B1KBU3N MCU for my USB-C PD board. I am a new with this so learning. I am currently finished assemble my own PCB and have some issue with programming the controller. I can program controller with ST link V3-minie but have Zero luck to go connect with ST LInk v2. Is my controller supports only V3 hardware? I saw in the Programmer menu with V2 hardware there is only 4 kHz frequency and V3 hardware offers 8 kHz (same as controller internal clock) am I right? Thank you.

I am working with the STM32U5G9J-DK2 discovery board and trying to interface an SPI peripheralHowever, I am unable to get the SPI communication working.I configured SPI in STM32CubeIDE but I’m not sure which SPI instance and pins are actually free to use. I suspect some pins are already connected internally to the LCD or Octo-SPI flash.

I am referring to the note AN5373 and MB1550/1549 schematics to design a STM32U575xx based board. The note AN5373 shows no connection for the VLXSMPS and VDDSMPS  pins when SMPS is not used. Do i just leave them floating? How should I connect them if I do not want to use the SMPS? Also there is no 'VCAP' pin on my symbol.Please Assist.

Hi everyone,I'm currently working on a project where I need to establish UART communication between an STM32L053R8T6 Nucleo board and a Chafon RFID reader IC. The goal is to send commands from the STM32 to the reader and receive tag data in response.Here's what we've done so far:Hardware setup:- STM32L053R8T6 Nucleo board- Chafon reader IC (connected via UART)- Power and ground lines are properly connected- TX/RX lines are cross-connected (STM TX → Reader RX, STM RX ← Reader TX)Software setup:- Using STM32CubeIDE with HAL drivers- UART initialized at 115200 baud (default for Chafon)- Basic transmit/receive functions implemented using HAL_UART_Transmit and HAL_UART_Receive - We're sure about the exact command format expected by the Chafon reader (e.g., start/stop bytes, checksum) but the reader doesn’t seem to respond to our test commands.- All the connections and UART ports are properly verified. Questions Has anyone successfully interfaced a Chafon reader or any ot

Table 20, "CN9 ZIO Connector pinout" on page 40 of "UM2407 User manual Rev 2 - STM32H Nucleo-144 boards (MB1364)" lists the wrong pin name for pin CN9-15. It is listing PE0 while it should be listing PE9.

I'm attempting to erase & program a STM32H7x using a STLink V3Mods and OpenOCD (a recent official release).It fails with a "read version fails".When i try using a STLink V2 (host, openocd script and target device unchanged), it works just fine.I've scoped the SWD CLK & IO lines to find the SWD init differences between V3Mods and V2.The only difference is the V3Mods is doing the SWD init "magic switch" at 3.4Mhz, and the V2 is doing it at 1.4Mhz.I've tried setting "adaptor speed 1000" in the openocd script to slow the clock rate when using the V3Mods, but it has no effect at all.Does anyone know how to force slow the clock rate?Thanks in advance.

I have a Nucleo-64 STM32F411RE. It's cool. I can program it, debug code and everything nice. But it's too large, however! I need to pack my projects to be as small as possible in order to ship to the market.  I need an official stm32 board with an included St-Link and features like nearly what a Blue Pill board offers, for now. At first I thought of NUCLEO-F042K6. Good price (10.8 USD), good size, ST-Link included, but its features may not be enough.  What do you suggest?

Hello,I'm working with B-WL5M-SUBG1 hardware for experiencing STM32WL5MOCH6U. I ran the application from Repository\STM32Cube_FW_WL_V1.3.1\Projects\B-WL5M-SUBG1\Applications\SigfoxI got current of about 2.3mA in standby mode instead of  less than 1uA as specified in the datasheet and I discovered that the 5V_PWR LED(LD4 Green) was ON.I broke the SB14 to prevent the 5V_PWR LED from turning on: Current down to 900uA-950uA band with this move.After that I applied this post's recommendations. Current down to 875uA-810uA band. But I unfortinatelly I'm still far away from 1uA. Anyone has soluion?

I am slowly following along with the user guides and used the software IDE from ST to create a blinker program of the onboard LED. That worked when connected to the ST-Link V2, and it was easy to find the correct pins, but I have the ST-Link V3 set, and I can't tell which pins to use to connect to the blue pill. I have it connected to the MB1440c. So I don't know if i can connect directly to the Blue Pill connectors or if I have to connect to the Blue Pill pins directly. Either way, I would like to overcome this last part. With the VLink 2, I couldn't upload to the Blue Pill, as it gave the 'unable to get to the core ID ST-Link error (DEV_TARGET_CMD_ERR)', and I haven't got that far with the V3 set due to connection confusion. Help would be very much appreciated, as I am going around in circles with documentation.
