STM32 MCUs Boards and hardware tools

Hi,I have a question that might be helpful for many others as well.I am currently using the MB2046B development board, which features the STM32C071RB microcontroller, along with STM32CubeMX for code generation.I also have a custom board that uses the STM32C071CBT6 microcontroller.Will the same code developed for the MB2046B board (with STM32C071RB) work on my custom board that uses the STM32C071CBT6?if Not can you please tell me the Why it not works for instant we forgrt about the pins 

HI   am using stm32 B-U585I-IOT02A  dev board in that the uart2 and uart3 are not transmitting the data but its receiving the data . I have set PH 13 and PH 15 high also . but Tx is not working only Rx workingmy code in this only hello2 getting in my serial terminal.

Hi Sir,We are using the STM32H747XIH6 microcontroller in our custom board. We have configured the ADA4930 amplifier in a single-ended to differential configuration with unity gain. The op-amp output is connected to the differential ADC1_IN2 channel (positive and negative inputs).The op-amp output looks fine, as shown in the attachment. However, we are not able to read the signal using the differential ADC to reconstruct the input sine wave.Could you please help us identify the issue.   

Hello, I am using the H753zi board and cannot figure out why my blue led won't turn on. The green and red do work. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.   

I have recently ordered my custom board from JLCPCB with STM32F070F6P6. When the board arrived to me, I tried to connect the CPU to ST-LINK V2, but it would not connect. I have checked all the connections on the board and everything seems to be good. I have also checked the voltage with an oscilloscope, and again it seems to be good - the voltage is stable 3.3V. I have completely no idea why it can not connect to ST-LINK. I am attaching below the picture of the schematic of my board. I am connecting SWDIO (PA13) and SWCLK (PA14) via J2 01 and 02 pins. The power comes from ST-LINK (3.3V from the voltage regulator). I tried with and without RESET and nothing changed. Am I doing something wrong?  

I'm getting bad overshoot and undershoot spikes on an SD card interface. The spikes are so bad that 1/300 large (2MB) file writes fails, and it's damaging the SD cards so that a card that has been subjected to these spikes will continue to fail after it is moved to a good board. I can knock down the spikes by adding a 33-51 ohm series resistors to the data, clk and cmd lines. With 51 ohms I have done over 50,000 large file writes without errors as long as I use a virgin SD card that hasn't been subjected to the spikes.The boards have traces equalized for length, and one version uses 8 mil wide traces, the other uses 12 mils. Both have overshoots. One of my boards has long 4.5" traces to the card. But I'm also seeing spikes on a shorter version with only 3.2" traces to the card. There are lots of example SDIO schematics online but only 1/10 show series resistors. Hi,I'm working on a USB Mass Storage Class (MSC) application using the STM32U5 series. I have a working firmware that correctly enumerates as a USB MSC device on STM32U5G9J-DK2 - Windows detects it and loads the built-in USBSTOR.SYS driver as expected. The configurations I've used are similar to the DFU example provided for the same board on STMCube IDE.However, when I flash the code with similar configurations to the STM32U5G9J-DK1, it fails to enumerate properly. In Windows Device Manager, I get: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) The USB device returned an invalid USB device descriptor.How can I fix this?

Hello,I will need some help to determine if STM32H735G-DK STMOD+ connector Pin 4 SCK/RTS can be configured as a GPIO pin. Not sure which port is mapped to this pin as I will need to control this pin as a GPIO.Thanks.

I have a brand new Nucleo G474RE board. I see that the default HSE is X3 at 24MHz. The solder bridges and capacitors are OK as per the board documentation, and checked to be physically on the board.But I cannot get HSE to oscilate. We are working with a board featuring the STM32L452 microcontroller, configured for ADC readings. On my old board with the same MCU, the Vref (reference voltage for ADC) measures 3.3 V even without flashing any code, which is as expected. However, in the new hardware, Vref is only 0.3 V. The design is identical between both boards.Could anyone please help me understand why this voltage difference is occurring? What steps should I take to diagnose and resolve this issue? 

Hi everyone!Does anyone have the link to the schematic of stm32h750b-dk. I'm new to this world but I found the schematic for other boards. By schematic I mean the correspondence between the name of the pins as marked on the board and the "internal" name that is used to access that pin in the CubeMX. For example, for stm32f7 I can see that D0 correspondes to PC7, D7 to PI3, etc.Thanks in advance for your help.Best,TJota

Hi,I had to install STM32 tools on a MacBook Pro 2023 M2. I have a STM32H7474I-Disco board which works fine under Windows 11. When I connect the evaluation board to MacBook it pops-up a window to enable ST-Link driver. I enabled the driver but the usual new STL-Link USB drive with demo links does not appear in Finder... STM32CubeIDE (Programmer) reports no ST-Link is connected to MacBook. I am using the same USB cable as in Windows with an USB Type-A to Type-C adapter which works with all the external USB sticks, HDs.I installed, STM32IDE, MX and Programmer and they seem to work right but the ST-Link V3 is not found.When I connect the STM32H7474I-Disco board to MacBook Pro M2 then the LCD of the discovery board blinks 3-4 times (not enough power?) then stay on and runs my demo app just fine. Interesting...Do you have any idea wha I did wrong?Thanks,Louis 

As I tried to find CAN drivers for " STM32L4R9I-EVAL" but I didn't find any, And I tried configuring CAN example of Stm32L476G-Eval board but it is not working.Anyone who worked on CAN (Protocol )configuring on STM32L4R9I-EVAL board please Guide me in this

Hey friends,Until yesterday, my custom board with the STM32H753ZI100_24 MCU—connected to an IMU sensor, magnetometer, and barometric sensor via SPI—was detected successfully by STM32CubeIDE. But today, when I came to the office, I’m unable to initialize the ST-Link device, which I used to program the board through Vaap, GND, SDIO and SWCLK pins in the st-link.Here are the steps I’ve tried so far:Restarted my Linux PCRemoved all power from the board and the ST-Link V2, checked the connection and then reconnected everythingConnected the ST-Link to another STM32 MCU on the same board, and it works fineVerified 3.2 V power supply to the MCU with a multimeter which is needed for mcu to power up.Despite this, I still can’t get the ST-Link to detect the board. Could this be caused by something in the last code I flashed, or is it likely a hardware issue?Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!Thanks in advance.

 There's nothing in the manual which tells you which pin is source, and which is load! PS:Even the schematic doesn't help! 

Hello, I have tried to turn on LEDs on the STM32F429i eval board, using buttons and interrupt.  I also noticed on the touch screen, there is GUI that has some basic operations like opening the folder and playing a simple game.  What kind of RTOS does it use ?  Is it FreeRTOS ?I have been looking for labs that can be implemented on the board from all sources and put them together.  It's really hard to find some good examples for the eval board. Is there any official example projects from ST ?    

Hi all,I'm trying to use the I2C2 bus to read from a BNO055 IMU. I've already configured the I2C1 bus to be used by DCMI as I have a camera attached and can't reuse it since it is configured in Fast Mode Plus and the BNO055 can only handle up to 400kHz, and the I2C3 bus is used for the LDC screen, leaving only the I2C2 bus available. I wanted to know how to enable and interface with the I2C2 bus as it seems like there are no pins broken out for the I2C2 bus. Any help would be greatly appreciated! 

Hi,I'm working on a project using an STM32G series MCU alongside a processor. The processor runs an application that handles firmware flashing for the STM32.We’re planning to implement firmware upgrades over I2C or UART. However, due to hardware limitations, the I2C line we selected does not support bootloader flashing. So, we're now considering UART for the firmware upgrade.The current schematic only provides access to the MCU's RX pin—its TX pin is not connected. Can we connect the processor's TX pin to the MCU's RX pin and still perform the firmware upgrade using the STM32 bootloader? Will this unidirectional connection be enough?

Hi allI migrated from a Nucleo F746zg to a F756zg. Code and overlay is the same except that I west build against F756zg. Now SPI 1 is not working properly anymore. On the scope I can see that SPI communication starts (CS goes low, MOSI byte is sent, MISO byte is sent back) but the transfer does not finish. I ran the same but using SPI 3 this worked flawlessly. Don't know maybe an APB or FIFO issue?Anyone an idea?Sorry, I forgot to say that I tested this with a Zephyr RTOS firmware (which worked with the F746zg) and as well with a simple straight forward Board-to-Board HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive Ping Pong F756zg (SPI 1 master) <-> F746zg (slave). Besides I want to mention that the same Ping Pong with F756zg (SPI 3 master) <-> F746zg (slave) worked flawlessly.

Hello,I got a stlm32 disco board. I cannot Flash.So,I used STM32 ST-LINK UTILITY. Any connection fail even under reset. This one show Target Voltage Detection Fail. The board is powered by the USB CN2 Connector. The measurment on the CN4 Connector shows 3,3 v between 1 and 3 pins.( which seems normal)Could this be a software issue ? Best regards,

Hi, I'm wondering if there are any recommendations/guidelines when trying to measure power consumption on the Nucleo-N657X0-Q when running a neural network model, both with NPU acceleration and without on the CPU for comparison. I have access to both a X-Nucleo-LPM01A power shield and a STLINK-V3PWR and do not know which one to choose. Are both options rated for enough power to measure the board? And does any of the two options require removing components, as the board is borrowed so I would prefer a non-invasive solution. Thanks in advance!

I am trying to communicate with a MS5837 pressure sensor by I2C with the I2C1 on my STM32H563RGT6, but the I2C communication doesn't seem to see the MS5837. I am pretty sure the connections are fine, and I have 2 pull-up resistors of 4.7kOhms for each lines (SCL and SDA). I think my .ioc config is fine since the MS5837 uses 400kHz clock, so I chose the fast mode. I verified the addresses of the MS5837 but something seems to not work properly and I'm running out of ideas at this point.
