STM32 MCUs Boards and hardware tools

Hi Community,I'm designing a custom H755 board and had intended to implement my own USB-C with debug/programming interface using an external STLINK module. STLINK-V3MODS is a nice alternative way forward but I note from the user manual (UM2502) that it can only deliver up to 200 mA at 5V, whereas I need around 500 mA.Is there an alternative debugger-progammer module that I can use, whilst also using this to deliver 5V with enough power to supply my board (power taken from USB obviously)?I want the option to use a power-bank battery pack to power my circuit in normal operation, but the ability to program and debug via USB.Thanks

I am trying to show a picture on the LCD of the STM32N6570-DK kit. And I want to make sure that the LTDC peripheral can directly control the LCD's demonstration and it do not need and do not contain any other ICs except the Touch control IC, right? And I want to find more files of the Touch control IC of the LCD, where can I find the information and the model of the Touch IC.Thanks a lot.

Dear all,I downloaded the schematic files for nucleo-64board(MB1136) from this page(https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/nucleo-f103rb.html#cad-resources)and opened them in Altium.However, when I tried to run a simulation, I encountered an error.I believe I need an MB1136 SCHLIB file or SPICE library filesto properly simulate this board.Could you please provide the SCHLIB file or a PSpice model for MB1136?I apologize for any inconvenience, as I am new to Altium. Hi,I'm working on flashing an STM32 MCU via I2C. The current setup involves a processor (host) and an STM32 MCU (G491RET6), where the processor needs to upload firmware to the MCU and perform flashing over I2C with the STM32 acting as the slave.I have a question regarding the I2C interface used during bootloader mode. The MCU has I2C1, I2C2, and I2C3 available — can any of these be used for flashing in boot mode, or is only a specific I2C peripheral supported by the STM32 bootloader?Also, for I2C1, there are multiple pin options available in the pinmux configuration. Which specific pins should be used for flashing via I2C in this case?

I have a weird problem connecting a purchased V3 emulator to a blue pill board with STM32F103C8T6.I have:1) STLINK V3 original emulator (tested two copies from the same batch, with different firmware: the latest firmware from the site and the firmware that was purchased)2) STLINK V2 clone - purchased earlier for testing.3) Nucleo-F756G original board. (works great)4) "Blue Pill" board with STM32F103C8T6. and ST-LINK Utility v 4.5.0, USB driver v 5.1.2If I connect "Blue Pill" to "STLINK V2 clone" or "STLINK V2.1 on Nucleo-F756G" emulators, then the target is successfully detected and connected.If I connect the target "STM32F756 on Nucleo-F756G" to the emulator "STLINK V3", everything also works fine: the connection to the target is established and work with the controller memory is possible.But if I connect "Blue Pill" to "STLINK V3", then the connection is not established: I see the error "Detection fail". "Blue Pill" has an external power supply, its value is 3.2 volt

Are there any example on how to configure the ST-Link on the Nucleo-64 to be use? In particular the Blue Pill. A real life example may answer some questions I have after reading the document.Some things I read you only have to pull the CN2 jumpers if all you need is SWO. Other make it look like you have to remove the 0 ohms resistors. Also the document looks like the SW0 connector power pin is input, not out. It says "from the target".I have tried to wire the SW0 to the ST-Link connector of the Blue Pill but it did not work. I assume it is a power thing.I am new to stm32 but have some experience from the ESPxxxx world. So some of my problem could be me filtering my understand from that world. What go me started looking at the stm32, is my 3D printer mother board lost it's boot loader. Now, not only do I want to get the 3Dprinter motherboard running, but learn more about the stm32 world.

I'm having an issue using STM32CubeIDE to program my blue pill boards. I get the below error each time. Error in final launch sequence:Error in initializing ST-LINK device.Reason: (18) Could not verify ST device! I thought that maybe the chips on my boards were counterfeit but I've tried boards from multiple venders now. I've looked around online and while I found some people getting the "Error in initializing ST-LINK device." message I haven't seen anyone getting "Reason: (18)".Any help would be appreciated.

I would like to know whether the stm32f103c8t6(Blue pill) can be supplied using a 5v source through the regulator ( 5V pin); I've seen a lot of people indicate that it was possible but the datasheet clearly says that the maximum voltage the regulator can take is 4.0v. In addition, I've read that the regulator is disabled in stop mode, does that mean that I cannot use my external 5v source in while in stop mode? and is the onboard usb regulator the same one used on the 5v pin? Hello!I have Blue Pill board and ST-LINK/V2 programmer. When I open STM32CubeProgrammer on Windows 10, my ST-LINK is detected properly but nothing happens when clicking on connect. No error messages, nothing. I can click all day and nothing. At the same time if I connect my ST-LINK to an Linux machine, STM32CubeProgrammer connects to my Blue pill without any problems. I have found couple of threads on Google with similar issue, but they seem outdated and are not working for me. I have tried re-installing JRE multiple times, but nothing changes. I hope you guys could help me, as I am really willing to start learning STM32.

Hello,I made a project using a blue pill. It works when is powered through st-link (3,3V).When I power this board from two AA batteries (~3V), the board does nothing until I press the reset button.An STM32F103 should work from 2 to 3,6 V, according to its datasheet, or I need to adjust something?

Hi there, I am using STM32F103c8t6 blue pill. there is a problem: when I use ST-LINK programmer to download the code to it, the PC13 LED is turned ON, without being ON in the program! why is that? One assumption is that the board is driving too much current, is that so?

Hello everyone,I'm new to using STM32 boards and coding with STM32CubeIDE. I have a simple task: generating two PWM outputs and adjusting the phase difference between these two PWM signals at runtime.I'm using an STM32F407 board, and from what I've gathered through online research, I need to use two timers, one in master and another in slave configuration. For the master Timer (Timer 1), I've set up two PWM channels. Channel 1 of Timer 1 is for PWM generation, and Channel 2 of Timer 1 is for triggering Timer 2, which is set to 'output compare no output' mode. I followed a tutorial on YouTube (Timer Sync Tutorial ) to configure these channels.The pulse value set in TIM1 CH2 is supposed to change the phase of the PWM generated by Timer 2. However, I'm unable to change the phase at runtime. I've tried changing the value of the CCR2 register in the main code, but it doesn't affect the phase despite updating CCR2.Could someone please point out my mistake and provide the correct syntax?

Hello, Testing 3.3V Octo-SPI PSRAM is fine on the STM32L4P5G-DK board. I'd like to test another 1.8V Octo-SPI PSRAM now. The solder bridge options SB17/SB18 for PSRAM and SB13/SB14 for MCU are modified for the purpose. However, a certain DQ bit is still failing. What else do I have to configure accordingly? Thanks.

Hello,  I am using STM32L0 microcontroller in my device. I put my device in deep sleep and wakeup using the same button by sorting SYS_WAKEUP2 pin and nearby PC14 is used as an Input pin (pulled-up).  The issue is when I disconnect & reconnect USB power to the my device, it does not start at all. I’m currently working on a project that involves I2C communication using the STM32H750B-DK  but I’m having trouble identifying which I2C peripheral (I2C1, I2C2, etc.) is connected to the Arduino I2C pins (SDA/SCL) on the board.Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the schematic diagram of the board or any clear documentation that specifies this mapping.

Hi everyone, I’m currently struggling to understand the behavior of the power line on the Nucleo-H753ZI board. My goal:The Nucleo board should be programmable via CN1 (Micro USB, ST-Link connection to PC). When connected, this should provide both 3.3V and 5V.While maintaining this connection, I want to enable an external switch to power the board via a Power Delivery (PD) power bank, which supplies 5V.The idea is that the CN1 connection can then be disconnected without causing a reset or power loss, as long as external power is already connected. What I observed experimentally:Jumper on the board is set to “ST-Link” position.With CN1 connected to the PC, CN8 pin 7 and pin 9 provide 3.3V and 5V, respectively (as per the datasheet).When I connect an external 5V PD power supply to CN8 pin 9, I don’t see any overcurrent issues.If I disconnect the CN1 connection, the board stays powered, and the running programs continue without interruption.Probing CN8 pin 7, I can confirm t

Hello everyone!I've designed a PCB around the STM32H7B0 MCU (I've attached a screenshot of the relevant part of the schematic) for audio signal processing.  I wanted to use the maximum clock frequency of 280MHz, but this requires the use of Power Regulator Voltage Scale 0. And here is the problem: regardless of whether I use an internal or external clock source, as soon as I change the voltage scale from 3 to anything of higher performance, the MCU hangs when it comes to the oscillator/voltage scale switching. After that, I can't even program it using the usual means. I have to manually reset the MCU and completely erase the flash. I don't think it is a crystal problem since it works below 88MHz. I did not paste any code since the default generated HAL code has this behaviour.Could you please help me figure out why I can't use the high-performance modes? Is this a CubeMX configuration problem ,or something that I'm missing? I also did not find anything relevant in t

Hi ,I'm working on a code to collect data from a load cell wit HX711 cip. I'm using STM32CubeIDE.I configured GPIO pin 6 as Clock output for the HX711 but when calling HAL_GPIO_WritePin the output pin PA6 does not change.The hardware configuration is set in CubeMX .I'm not even sure what information to provide.I reduced the code to only couple of lines ... I am writing code in C++ so I have a call of appMainC() that is declared as "extern C" as main() for my code. This may not influence our issue but I added it just for clarity.And I also have the timer ElapsedCallback function call ..I have changed 3 bluepill boards as I expected is a HW issue of the board but it the issue is the same on all 3.I also tried by setting outputs PA3 ... PA6 as pull-up but I still measured 0V on the outputs with the oscilloscope.Can anyone help with some idea on what could cause this issues? Or if I'm setting something wrong?I can provide any additional information ... this seem so basic I don't know
