STM32 MCUs Boards and hardware tools

I was implementing i2c on the stm32f4 to read the as5600 magnetic encoder. Everything ran perfectly for a while, then the I2C got stuck, I check and see that after the start generate, sda transition when the scl still low. I checked many times and the same thing happened every time.

I tried to set the SPI CLK to 20MHz at VDD=1.8V, but there was no output signal at PB13. When I change to 5 MHz it returns to normal, but the waveform seems to have been filtered by the low-pass filter.  Finally, I set it to 2.5MHz to make it work stable. However, the patterns between PG11(C2) and PB13(C1) at the same frequency are different.I want to confirm. Is that issue because the layout routing distance different between these two pins on the board? If I directly probe the IC pin, the pattern will be the same, right?

Hi,I'm trying to use spi on STEVAL-IDB008v2 board I want to wire spi flash dev board, after reading the documentation I'm not sure but if I want to have spi on bluenrg2 I have to desolder R64 and R63 resistors ? EDIT : it's seem 1-2sel and 3-4sel are connected to stm32l processor, but stm32l processor can't be flash by the user... so ?? I can’t add my own spi device on cn1 connector?Second question: in SPI example I've read st used SdkEvalSpiWrite to write on SPI, so for example if I have  uint8_t cmd[2] = {W25_INSTR_JEDEC_ID , 0x00}; HAL_SPI_Transmit(&HANDLER_SPI_FLASH, cmd, sizeof(cmd), 100); Should I replace by  uint8_t cmd[2] = {W25_INSTR_JEDEC_ID , 0x00}; if (SdkEvalSpiWrite(cmd, 0, sizeof(cmd)) != SUCCESS){ ... } or uint8_t cmd[1] = {0x00}; if (SdkEvalSpiWrite(cmd, W25_INSTR_JEDEC_ID , sizeof(cmd)) != SUCCESS){ ... }  No ST employees to help?

Hey,I want to read an EC11 encoder without disturbing the main loop, so I decided to use interrupts.Can I connect both pin A and pin B of the encoder to PA1 and PB1, and use only EXTI1 to map the switching events to the same interrupt routine?

HiI am currently controlling a Fluke serial device over RS232 from a laptop and python script.  I simply send requests for information which is returned and logged in my laptop.  I'm using a Startech RS232 to USB lead incorporating the Prolific - PL2303RA chipset. This is a simple setup but obviously requires a laptop to function so I have moved to an STM32F7 board in an attempt to separate from the PC.I'm writing the same command from the ST board as I was sending from Python, from UART to a Seeed RS232 adapter.  Scoping signals at this point shows them to be ok, whilst not connected to any serial device, yellow being UART and blue, RS232.However, once I connect to my Fluke device the signals are corrupted to the point if illegibility:I have reproduced the behaviour using a second UART -> RS232 interface and also switched out the Fluke device for another one from a different manufacturer, but no change in behaviour.The Seeed interface can be found at 1

I would like to know if the STM32F407G-DISC1 development board has a dedicated VBAT pin for powering the internal RTC, allowing it to maintain time even when the board is not connected to power. If there is no VBAT pin on the development board, does the STM32F407 microcontroller itself have a VBAT pin that can be utilized when designing a custom board using the microcontroller? 

Hello, I recently got my hands on a Nucleo-U031R8 with a cortex-M0+ processor. My goal is to to reach 52 nA (using usb cable) in shutdown mode, but as of now the lowest i could go is 490 nA.  HAL_SuspendTick(); HAL_PWR_EnterSHUTDOWNMode();  The code above is all I used to enter shutdown mode, is there anything else I should do to reach the lowest possible current usage?Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, I am using STM32H747I-DISCO. I want to use ST-LINK  V3E port for UART communication port. I am configuring USART1 and using the HAL_UART_TRANSMIT function. After download the code I close the ST-Link connection and using a serial terminal to see the result but nothing happend. What am I missing?

Hello, I have created a custom PCB based on STM32U545RET6Q and I am getting crazy to do it work. I have a random errors and I can't solve any of them becaouse each time the hardfaluts are different. I started to work with the EVAL board MB-1841 (STM32U545RET6QU), the first thing I realized that in mi IC the "U" does not appear.One more thing, is that I have many times problems to find the target with STLINK, but others I can flash the board correctly.I post the schematic here. I have to say that I've forgotten the inductance between VDD11 1&2 and VLXSMPS, but I added it externally and it seems to work.     My FW is really simple, I just use the ADC in DMA mode reading 6 channels, internal clock, 1 DAC output, and 1 UART bus. I encountered an issue where an error occurs when only the image data is moved to NOR Flash in the linker. I have already verified that the NOR Flash works correctly in a separate project by toggling the LEDs.In my current TouchGFX project, I enabled the NOR Flash in the IDE, and I am able to read the data in the memory browser, confirming that the same data is present.However, when I choose my custom loader in the debug configuration and try to debug,  If I remove the ext_flash section from the linker, I am able to debug and see the data in the memory browser.but its just txbuffer data(0xD20F- increases) My question is, if this error is resolved, will I be able to see the image data in the memory browser? Hi,Although I'm quite familiar with Arduino and Teensy MCU's, I'm just getting started with STM32. I followed this 'getting started' video to upload an Arduino bootloader to my STM32F103C5T6 'blue pill' module, using an ST_LINK module.Before uploading the bootloader, I verified that I could program an Arduino sketch (the 'blink' sketch) into the module. Then I followed the rest of the video and successfully uploaded the bootloader files using STM32CubeProgrammer. Hi All,I've been using my ST-LinkV3mini for a few weeks now quite happily, until two days ago when it just stopped talking to my M3 MacBook Air (MacOS 15.0.1). I'm fairly sure I know what's happening, when I try to communicate between the laptop and ST-Link the ST-link crashes. Why I think this, the status LED stops flashing red and remains on constantly red as well as the error in Clion:libusb: error [submit_bulk_transfer] bulk transfer failed (dir = Out): pipe is stalled (code = 0xe000404f)After getting into this state If I try to reconnect I get this message:libusb: warning [darwin_transfer_status] transfer error: device not responding (value = 0xe00002ed)I then cycle power and the LED starts flashing again.I have tired updating the firmware but the update tool in cubeProgrammer reports corrupt firmware. We're using the STM32F407VET6 microcontroller. When I connect it to my Windows laptop and attempt to debug with STM32CubeIDE, it shows "NO ST-LINK DETECTED, CONNECT AND RESTART DEBUGGING." I’m unsure how to resolve this issue. The user manual states it has a built-in debugger, but CubeIDE isn’t recognizing it. We need help, as this is crucial for our final year engineering project.

From the user manual I deduce that the LPUART is connected to the ST-LINK by default, through a VCP.My code (in this order)Selects the system clock to be used for LPUART1 (which is 4MHz by default)Turns on the LPUART1Turns on power to GPIOG through AHB2ENR (since GPIOG is where we find PG7 and PG8)Sets PG7 and PG8 to function in alternate modeThe datasheet says that the alternate function for these pins are alternate function 8. Hi, I am trying to program a STM32L552ZEQ to use HSE instead of the default clock, but I am doing something wrong. I attach the reference manual, as well as the user manual for my specific board. In the user manual, on page 24, it is stated that there is a HSE with 16 MHz clock frequency. I try to enable this by setting the HSEBYP and HSEON bits in `RCC->CR`, like so ``` RCC->CR |= RCC_CR_HSEBYP_Msk | RCC_CR_HSEON_Msk; while(!(RCC->CR & RCC_CR_HSERDY_Msk)); ``` Using GDB I observe the change to the register value happening as expected. After setting it, I am waiting for the hardware to set the HSERDY bit, indicating that everything went OK. But this bit is never set. I never seem to get out of this while-loop.
