STM32 MCUs Boards and hardware tools

Hello everyone I've being trying to setup a DAC output using DMA in a nucleo U575ZI-Q board.I started with the example provided in the stm32CubeIDE, works fine, and I obtained a desired output. The point gets more complex because I needed to use the timers to trigger other signals, and thus I needed to change to other timers (for example, to TIMER2), And I couldn't get it on work. I'm using the 1.15.1 version of the ide, and there the DMA settings related to the DAC has changed with respect to the videos.Following several examples (most of them for bluepills and others for STM32FXXX boards, but none of them for my specific board, I couldn't get it on work.The outupt that I need is like a 0 --level2 -- 0 -- level1--- 0.I got the following. As you can see, it goes up and down at every timer call, instead of just triggering the dma buffer.  My current DMA setting is as follows:  Any idea? Thanks! 

Hello everyone, I'm using classical CAN bus mode on Nucleo-H755ZI dual chip (this board only support CAN FD), I chose CAN FD at Classical mode.I want to ask about hardware, may I use the external module CAN transceiver MCP2551 for classic CAN bus or I must to use module MCP2562FD of CAN FD?Note: I just need classical CAN bus on STM32 dual core, not CAN FD.

Hello,I am developping a custom board on stm32l031f6. I got my hand on a ST-link v2 (from what I searched today it seems to be clone dongle...). My application is tight on pin so I use SWclk as a GPIO pin. Before making this pin definition, I could freely  flash from STMCubeIDE. Now that I changed the definition for GPIO pin, when I flash, I kind of brick my MCU (expected).I thought that I would have been able to leverage the use of RST pin to automatically boot again my MCU, but even with trying "connect under reset", didn't do nothing.Only way, I found is to manually push RESET, go on STMCubeProgrammer and full erase the chip, and after I can go back to STMCubeIDE to flash my chip. It is way too long in my workflow and I think a better solution exist since we only talk about pulling down a RST pin.My hardware reset setup is as follow :- NRST pin is tied to a button to ground (manual)- NRST pin is tied to a header pin that is directly linked to ST-Link V2- No pull up, pull down,

I'm working with a nucleo-L432kc board. I use a mac, VSC, Platformio and I use screen as a terminal. I used MXcube to setup a UART to use the VCP. MX cube generates the code. I have followed the instructions from several online sources to get it to work, but no luck seeing any output with "screen". I must be missing something fundamental. Does anyone have working sample code for this board I can look at to see what I'm doing wrong.

I am using STM32H745 MCU. My requirement is to receive 33 bits of data on SPI in slave mode. The master transmits 33 clocks. It is not possible to split the data as reconfiguration of SPI in between the clocks is difficult. Is there a way to read partially filled SPI data register? If I know the end of 33 clocks, and if the configure the data size is 32 bits, at the end of 33 clocks I can read 32 bits from the FIFO. The last 1 bit which will be available in the data register is to be read. The data register data doesn’t go to the FIFO for reading until 32 bits are received. How to resolve this issue?

Hi there,I'm designing a very compact PCB. For the debug header I'm using 4-wire SWD with a 2x2 header on the board (specifically CLP-102-02-L-D). There's no keying or polarisation meaning that the programming lead could be plugged in in four different orientations, potentially connecting MCU VDD/GND from the ST-LINK to any of the pins on the board. Hopefully this image illustrates the (potential) problem:I haven't been able to find if there is any concern with connecting incorrect pins together. I know MCU VDD is a measured voltage, my only concern would be connecting GND from the ST-LINK to +3V£ on the board side; could this cause a short or is this all protected on the ST-LINK side? I have struggled to find a header that is small enough with some kind of keying to prevent invalid connections, but if there is a real possibility of damage to the board I will need to rethink this!Thank you for your help.

Hi St-familyI'm encountering a problem transferring a bin file via UART on my Stm32f103c8t6. While UART3 functions correctly with a USB TTL converter, UART1 doesn't seem to establish a connection. I've verified the connections between the device's UART1 pins (TX and RX) and the USB TTL converter.I'm using the appropriate baud rate settings on both the device and the terminal software. 

I am planning to use an STM32U5 SPI peripheral and I want to do a SPI read of a "black box" that doesnt exist yet. currently the planned output of this device has this configuration where the chip select is high for 5 bytes of data. the STM32U5 is capable of reading SPI frames up to 32 bits. Can i read this in sections of 8 bits at a time with one long chip select? Ideally, using DMA to pass these 40 bit reads into memory.  If this would not work, then how would the chip select and CLK format need to change?

Downloaded the subject driver and installed it per the instructions in the readme.txt (ran the batch file as admin) "Device Driver Installation Wizard" dialog reports that the drivers (Qty 3) were successfully installed and ready to use. In Windows "Device Manger" > "Other devices" the only entry is a pre-existing one "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" What do I need to do to get the driver to show up in Device Manager? Connected the board to the Windows computer using a USB to USB micro cable. The ST-LINK LED flashes on/off about once per second.

Hello forum,Im trying to build a function based on the BSP example and all the peripheral sensors,when opening a new project and adding the libraries and drivers from the BSP example, nothing works.some of the files have missing defines which suppose to come from the autogenerated files of the STM32CubeIDEwhat am I doing wrong?thanks in advance

This is a switching regulator and they require the specified output capacitance which is 4.4uF given in the datasheet we have given two 2.2uF capacitance at the regulator but one capacitance has 2 ohms resistor to it for intrinsic safety will this still be considered as 4.4uF on total or will this cause any issues

Hello,In the RM0399 58.1 it is mentioned that EMMC is supported up to Version 4.51. I want to use the part  IS22TF08G-JCLA2 which supports a number of emmc interfaces up to 5.1 are these parts compatible? 

Hi, I have an issue with CubeIDE and ST-LINK.I'm trying USART communication with STM32F0F4, I write code and debug but I don't get COM Port. In device manager there is no port showing. I installed st-link009.In CubeIDE, i tried both St-Link GDB Server and OpenOCD for debug probe but didn't work.I using Tera Term for COM Port connection, ST-Link not showing.

So as these things go I have an, two actually, ST NUCLEO-H503RB dev board that I cannot get the debugger to work with it.  My colleague on the other side of the country has the same boards and a similar setup and he is having no problems debugging.  We have also verified that the zero ohm jumpers on his board match my board (in case there was an install error at the factory). This is the error I get in Windows / Linux and different versions of the IDE: Error in final launch sequence:Failed to start GDB serverFailed to start GDB serverError in initializing ST-LINK device.Reason: (255) Unknown. Hi, actually, I want to generate a 1 microsecond (1 µs) timer interrupt on the STM32G0B1RCT6  microcontroller using their internal clocks.For the STM32G0B1RCT6 controller running at 16MHz APB timer clock, I set the prescaler value to 0 [16MHz clock frequency / (0+1) = 16MHz counter clock -> 1/16MHz = 62.5ns counter period]  and the counter period to 15 [ARR is set to 15: 62.5ns*(15+1)=62.5ns*16=1us]. This configuration is intended to represent a 62.5ns  interval once the counter starts counting. I then set the ARR (Auto-Reload Register) value to 15+1=16. However, on the oscilloscope, the interrupt is generated every 4.24 microseconds. Could you explain why this is happening and tell me the correct values for the prescaler and ARR?  i'm not using only hal Drivers,i will attached the screenshot for your reference.

Hello,I want to use the Nucleo H723ZG for a project with analog & digital lines and can't find the article number of the headers CN7, CN8, CN9, CN10. Is there a specific cable/contact type I can use to plug in the black header body? Or are the headers pins at the bottom of the board meant to dock on some connector? Are there recommended docker boards like from Seeed Studio?Many thanks 

Hello,my problem is as follows:I did a chip regression with flash erase and now I cannot connect to the mcu anymore.I had secure area set, but I also set DMES, such that the secure area is also removed. i'm using the AC6.16 compiler and keil 5.34.i'd like to use DMA in UART,and the file dma.c occured in both CM4 and CM7 folder(UART is attached to cortex-m4).but when i want to compile CM4 and CM7 project,both have said that "multiply defined".how can i do to resolve?thx.

Hi. I'm new to stm32 and have an h7 nucleo board to play with. This is my goal/problem.I want to read from the adc at reasonably high speed (2 Msamples/s, 10-bit will do as I don't need especially high resolution) for say 10 us. In that period I want to send a 2 us gpio pulse to trigger an LED via a driver (low side switch MOSFET and gate driver) as part of an analysis system, where the LED is triggered after 2-3 us into the adc read. I then want to find the maximum adc value in the buffer. If the max value is greater than a threshold value then I want to send the max value in over serial to be logged externally, then wait for 0.5-1 ms before restarting the sampling loop. If the value is less than the threshold then wait for 100 us before restarting the sampling loop.So far I'm not finding anything in the literature to get pointed where I want to be, partly because I'm not quite sure what I need to be asking to get appropriate information! I have inserted the necessary solder bridge at R18.
