STM32 MCUs Products

Heyho,I'm currently designing a new modular system, with an STMH7 on the base-card. That one's basically up and running, including a self-made bootloader.Now I'm working on some new modules, these will be connected to the "base H7", probably via I2C, 2 extra UART lines might also be possible.The previous system used ATmega-MCUs on the modules, now we'll surely use some STM32 type. These modules will not do any DSP or computing, so a "small" STM32 will do (tending towards L07x because of the EEPROM).To save some dev time I'm thinking about using the internal bootloader for the module MCU, controlled by the base H7.I have checked the application notes (AN2606 and the ANs depending on the BL interface), also found the example source code from ST on Github.So far that looks okay and doable, nevertheless user experience always wins over "reading". :DSo...Anybody using the ST bootloaders in some real-life products ?How did that go and work out ? Heyho,I think I need some more info about the internal bootloader ("BL") which I didn't find in AN2606 or AN3155 (UART). a) Are all BL interfaces active / scanned at the same time, and any interface finding any change in level will be "chosen"?From what I have found, it is crucial to keep unused IOs "quiet". b) Does the BL have some "start-up timeout", meaning that it will stop scanning the IOs, and / or jump to the application? Thanks in advance!

The boot fail light doesn't seem to function the way i would think it would. When* boot 0 == 0* boot 1 == 0* entire external flash == 0xff* using STM32N6-DK The boot fail light never seems to stay on?  My thought is that part of the ROM would read the data from the flash do a CRC on the data and then if it matched then turn the light off.  But it always seems to turn the boot fail led off no matter whats in the flash?

Hoping someone can assist.I have a 2 x 8 segment numerical glass LCD that I want to drive from the MCU.See two images below & uploaded files with this request.snippet from LCD data sheet.snippet from CubeMX pin out view.This display is Static with total of 16 segments.Is there a convention when connecting LCD segments to the MCU pins?I cannot seem to find any guidance to show which physical pin on the glass segment LCD module needs to connect to which LCD_SEGxx pin on the MCU. If anybody has trialed this, could they provide any related information please.  Thank you.

Both 'U5 ADCs contain the LFTRIG bit; however, I could not find in either 'U5 datasheet the Tidle value above which this bit has to be switched on.JW 

I'm using the STM32G474 at 170MHz. Is it possible to simulate hadc1.Init.ClockPrescaler = ADC_CLOCK_ASYNC_DIV512; since the G474  only recognizes up to ADC_CLOCK_ASYNC_DIV256; I need very slow readings from the ADC. Thank you Valter

Dear Community, I am researching how to use a 50Mpx MIPI CSI-2 2 LANE RAW 10 sensor with stm32N647.The idea is not to use the full sensor, instead using analogue/digital crop and windowing on the sensor to capture a specific part of the image and downsize it to a smaller size before entering the ISP of the MCU. The sensor doesn't have scaling.So after all steps I am left with a frame size that varies from 11.4 to 2.4 Mpx depending on cases.From there the image needs to be downsized to a buffer with a maximum size of 1024x768 px for the display.The question is whether the scaling of the ISP of the STM32N647 can handle downsizing and at what cost. The ISP is rated at 5Mpx 30fps but specifies it is possible above, the datasheet is vague about this.Thanks for the help.

Hi all, I have reached the point of desperation, and I am all out of ideas how to get my STM32U031 project working.I designed a very simple PCB which has only a few components. I have attached the KiCad files in case it is helpful. I followed guidelines for decoupling capacitors and broke out the SWDIO and SWCLK pins. The issue I have is this: I can not program/connect to the chip over SWD. When I power the PCB from 3V, the first noticeable problem is GPIO PA3 goes high. You can notice that because that pin is connected to the gate of a mosfet which is used to switch some LEDs, so when it goes high, the LEDs turn on. It is especially strange because I put an external pulldown resistor on the pin, so the fresh unprogrammed MCU is driving it high for some reason. I also connected my ST Link to the PCB, but when I try to connect with any speed or reset settings, I see this error:02:27:47 : UR connection mode is defined with the SWrst reset mode02:27:47 : ST-LINK SN : 003B00

Hi,I have made up six boards and three of them had an unusually high standby current (35mA instead of 1mA).Eventually, when the IC was removed, we found Pins 5 & 6 of the removed IC were shorted internally (0.3R)They were also shorted to pin 45 with 3.7R. The other two boards are showing similar shorts.The board worked fine with a new MCU.Does anyone know what might cause this short?TIA,Patrick. 

Dear al!i need your help, i design PCB use STM32H755ZIT6, i set up mode PWR_SMPS_1V8_SUPLLY_LDO via STM32CubeMX 6.12.1. I expect core M7's clock is 400Mhz, M4's clock is 200Mhz. I measure voltage after L2 is 1.8V, at each Vcap pin is 1.0V, The MCU warmed up to about 35 degrees Celsius and chip didn't run. can you share me my mistake, this is the first time which i handle with SMPS block

Hi everyone, I am encountering a critical issue with the IWDG on an STM32U375 using STM32CubeMX v6.17.0 and a Segger J-Link Base. The scenario: I am testing the Watchdog behavior across Standby cycles. I have configured the Option Bytes via software to freeze the watchdog during low power modes: IWDG_SW: 1 (Software mode) IWDG_STOP_FREEZE: 0 (Counter stops in Stop mode) IWDG_STDBY_FREEZE: 0 (Counter stops in Standby mode) The Issue: When the system is in IWDG_STDBY_FREEZE mode, the following happens: The MCU wakes up from Standby correctly. I enter a test while(1) loop without refreshing the IWDG. At the exact moment the IWDG timeout should occur (10s), the MCU enters an unrecoverable state. No System Reset occurs. No HardFault_Handler is triggered. The CPU seems to be completely locked (Bus Lockup?). I tried to enable the IWDG Early Wakeup Interrupt (EWI) via NVIC, but HAL_IWDG_EarlyWakeupCallback() is never called before the crash. Contrast with RUN mode: If

Hi,I do not plan to use USB or CSI, and the board only receives 1.8V power. So, I asked how to connect the VDD33USB pin, and I was told to just connect it to GND. However, I have two more questions.I currently have the VDDA18USB and VDDA18CSI pins connected to 1.8V. Is it okay to leave them as they are, or would it be better to connect them to GND? (have to consider leakage in the Stop mode)Also, should I connect VDDCSI to GND as well?Thanks in advance.

I'm working on a project using the STM32U385 and I'm trying to find a way to detect a specific condition and save data while the device stays in a low-power Stop mode — without waking up the CPU to do the saving.Is there any peripheral combination or hardware feature on the STM32U385 that allows:1. Detecting a condition (e.g., via Comparator, ADF, or LPTIM) while in Stop mode2. Saving/writing data to memory autonomously — still in Stop mode, without waking up the CPUIf this is not possible natively, is there a recommended approach or workaround for this use case on the STM32U3 series?Thanks in advance!

Hi everybody,I'm working on a STM32F446. I'm using the UART.I've a function with switch/cases which instead of a function number fill a buffer.ex :switch(function) {case 0x00 : Txbuffer[idx_trame++] = 0x00;break;case 0x01 : Txbuffer[idx_trame++] = 0x00;break;case 0x02 : Txbuffer[idx_trame++] = 0x00;break;etc...At the end of the function, I've the follwing function : HAL_UART_Transmit_DMA(...)In parallel, I'm using the timer7 (triggered every 1ms).It works well.But, yesterday, I've added some cases, and when my software run into them, I see the tim7 stops (I've put a GPIO in the interrupt and a probe on it).So, I see that before entering in the HAL_UART_Transmit_DMA function, it works and after it stops.When I take a look on tim7 registers, everything seems to be OK, except UIF that keeps at 1 (so the interrupt is never resetted).If you have some ideas, I'll be very happy. 

Hello, I wanna use the development board STM32N6570-DK for taking a picture with MB1854B. i am quite new for DCMI and DCMIPP. i just want to read the image through the pipe1 of dcmipp but i dont know how to config the MCU in .ioc file. Can anyone explain or give me an example for that? 

Split from this post. Thank you for your help, I didn't know this mode and it works well. I did a measure every 5s. I use Timer1 for injected mode and timer3 for DMA mode. I've just a little difference of measure. With the ADC, I have the following value : 944, that's to say (with ratio = 4), ((944 * 3.3) / 4096) = 0.7605 * 4 = 3.04V. My sampling is 480cycles.(if I put only 3 cyles, the measure is lower (2.88V)). Or with my multimeter, I have 3.20V.

Hello everyone, I am working with the STM32H743BIT6 using the LTDC peripheral to drive an RGB display. The display I am using does not have HSYNC and VSYNC signals and operates only in DE (Data Enable) mode. I have attached the display datasheet for reference. Based on the datasheet timing specifications, I configured the LTDC parameters accordingly. Since the display does not use HSYNC and VSYNC, I configured them as constant high signals (logic 1) and set the rest of the LTDC timing parameters as specified. However, the display is not showing any image. The backlight turns on, but the screen remains black. Below are the key points of my configuration: LTDC peripheral configured according to the display timing parameters from the datasheet HSYNC and VSYNC set to constant logic high since the panel works only in DE mode Pixel clock configured as per the display requirements Data Enable (DE) signal connected and active RGB data lines connected correctly Framebuffer configured in SDRAM

Hi team,  We have our own customized USBPD board (STM32L562CET6) which support both SPR(100W) and EPR(140W). SPR is working great, now we want to work on 140W using EPR mode. I am planning to do an aging test which need capture the voltage of a net, but i found STM32U585OIY6QTR report a value about 40 while the actual voltage of ADC channel is close to VREF.Then i write a simple ADC demo to verify ADC configuration, and run my code on B-U585I-IOT02A board(based on STM32U585AII6Q), it report a correct value, but the same code report a wrong value on my board.I use ADC1  CHANNEL2(GPIOC GPIO_PIN_1) on both board.The only difference between B-U585I-IOT02A and my hardware is the different VREF i think(B-U585I-IOT02A use 3.3V, but my board use 2.5V).Is there any difference on ADC usage between STM32U585AII6Q and STM32U585OIY6QTR?You can find my ioc file and code in attachment, can anyone help me check my configuration? 

Hi AllMaximum input voltage for this series of MCU per Table II of the datasheet is specified to be 4.0 VDC for all pins other than five-volt tolerant. Table 12 specifies the maximum injected current for all pins other than five-volt tolerant to be +/- 5 mA.Given the above specifications would it be permissible to exceed the maximum input voltage if the injected current is limited to lets say 0.1 mA by a resistor in series with the non five-volt tolerant I/O pin? If not what would be the reason?Regardsik
