Hi, I´m reading the following document : "an4879-introduction-to-usb-hardware-and-pcb-guidelines-using-stm32-mcus-stmicroelectronics" to implement USB in my application. In section 2.6.1 Simple Resistor Divider it says "This solution works well as long as GPIO maximum operating conditions are >= VDD+ 3.6 V" this must be meet to use the following voltage dividider I´m going to use PA9 pin, in the datasheet of my MCU STM32L4P5RGT6 it states this pin is 5V tolerant As I understood this pin doesnt meet the condiciton mentioned before because my VDD=3.3V and so GPIO maximum operating condition should be >= VDD+3.6V so we have 3.3+3.6V=6.9V so 5V < 6.9V so I can't use this configuration do I understand this well ?  Should I use this other configuration? I´m a bit confused about it hope some one could help me to clarify this.  

Apologies for the ignorance, I'm a beginner with STM32 and I purchased the STM32C071K8T6 MCU since it has built-in USB capabilities. I am trying to implement USB CDC, but I'm becoming quite confused with all the USBX and ThreadX stuff I have to enable. Currently, just through configuration of the IOC file, I can get the device to appear in my PC device manager, but it is not enumerated (device descriptor request failed). I have not found many other resources describing in simple terms how I can just get a basic virtual com device up and running, especially for the C0 series. Could anybody provide a basic minimum working example to have the device enumerated? Thank you.

Hi everyone, for several days I've been trying to replicate the Nx_TCP_Echo_Server application example by creating a project with the .IOC file, but I can't establish Ethernet communication. If I compile and run the example, everything works, but my application doesn't. I'll send you my project if anyone can help. Alternatively, can someone point me to a simple TCP stack without using an RTOS? Thanks so much for your help. I'm using a NUCLEO-N657X0-Q board, STM32CubeIde 1.19

Hi Folks,I’m currently observing flickering on a 10" TFT LCD screen and would appreciate some expert advice regarding the connections for LCD_CLK, LCD_HSYNC, and LCD_VSYNC.At present, the signals are connected as follows:MCU LCD_CLK → Non-Inverting Buffer IC → 22Ω series resistor → 300Ω @ 100 MHz Ferrite Bead (1 signal line) → LCD LCD_CLKMCU LCD_HSYNC → Non-Inverting Buffer IC → 300Ω @ 100 MHz Ferrite Bead (1 signal line) → LCD LCD_HSYNCMCU LCD_VSYNC → Non-Inverting Buffer IC → 300Ω @ 100 MHz Ferrite Bead (1 signal line) → LCD LCD_VSYNCCould anyone please advise whether the flickering could be due to:Incorrect ferrite bead selection or signal integrity issues?Potential hardware-level filtering/matching concerns?Or something that may need to be addressed in software configuration?Any guidance, suggestions, or debugging tips would be greatly appreciated.Thank you in advance!

I am trying to set up DFSDM on an stm32h753zi using the AMC1306 delta sigma modulator. I have enabled TIM8 as a trigger:But in the registers I see, that JEXTEN is not set to external rising edge (0x1). Instead it is set as disabled (0x0).After the CubeMX generated initialization I added:HAL_DFSDM_FilterInjectedStart_DMA(...);Do you have any ideas what might be causing this?

I think it is quite natural to operate the STM32L433 at 80 MHz generated from HSI16, but is this guaranteed to be accurate?When creating 80 MHz from HSI16 in STM32CubeMX, no error occurs, but when inputting 16.08 MHz to HSE in the same way, an error message is displayed (attached files).According to Datasheet 6.3.8, the maximum frequency of HSI16 is 16.08 MHz. Therefore, if HSI16 is multiplied by 20 using a PLL and then divided by 4, the result is 80.4 MHz, which slightly exceeds 80 MHz. Considering temperature and voltage changes, the frequency may drift up to approximately 81.3MHz.According to Section 6.3.1, the maximum frequency for fHCLK is 80MHz.Does this mean that operation is not guaranteed since it exceeds the specified limits?Thank you in advance.Ken

I want to create filter so only messages with my own CAN_ID will reach HAL_FDCAN_RxFifo0Callback.I started by define the filter:filter.IdType = FDCAN_STANDARD_ID;filter.FilterIndex = 0;filter.FilterType = FDCAN_FILTER_MASK;filter.FilterConfig = FDCAN_FILTER_TO_RXFIFO0;filter.FilterID1 = CAN_ID;filter.FilterID2 = 0x1FFFFFFF; HAL_FDCAN_ConfigFilter(&hfdcan1, &filter); At this point the filter not realy doing anything, and I still getting other nodes ID in the callback. I tried to add a global filter with:HAL_FDCAN_ConfigGlobalFilter(&hfdcan1, FDCAN_REJECT, FDCAN_REJECT, FDCAN_REJECT_REMOTE, FDCAN_REJECT_REMOTE);but now i reject also my own ID. What I miss here? what is the correct way to define the filter? Thanks in advance,Amit Prigozin

I have a custom board with an STM32C071K8T6, and I am trying to use it for its USB CDC capabilities.I have designed my circuit to use an ABM3B-8.000MHZ-B2-T ceramic crystal resonator. In its specs, this crystal has a load capacitance of 18 pF, so I used the formula C_L = 2(18pF - 5pF) = 26 pF to select the load capacitor values (C6 and C7 in my schematic). However, I do not see any signal on the oscilloscope when probing OSCX_IN and OSC_OUT. At first I thought I had overheated the crystal during soldering, but I made sure to use hot air at 260 C as recommended in the specs.I have an LED connected to PB0 that I can blink with a simple program when the crystal is connected but it will not work if disconnected. This leads me to believe that the crystal is working in some sense? But when I set up USB and CDC, I see nothing happen at all within the device manager. Will the MCU default to the internal clock if current can be passed through the crystal but there is no oscillation? I have chec

Hello! everyone.I use the stm32 Nucleo-L476RG to read the total size of USB flash drive and external hard drives, respectively. It works with USB flash drives, but not with external hard drives. The error message from STM32 isFR_DISK_ERR (A hard error occurred in the low level disk I/O layer ) when I try to mount the external hard drives.The wiring diagram is followingPlease give me some suggestions to fix this issue. Hello everyone,I have been trying to open communications via I2C between the STM32G484RET6 and a MCP47FXDX8 DAC using the STM32CubeIDE toolchain.However, as I struggled with that so much I took a step back and just tried to read the I2C data from a Nucleo-G474RE (thinking there was an issue with my aux circuitry for the RET6 surfboard). I want to use the 32-pin package of STM32L412 (STM32L412KBU3) as a USB device, using I2C to connect to a few sensors.If I use HSE clock on pin PA0, any suggestion as to a suitable crystal & caps?Could I use LSE instead, would this be accurate enough for reliable USB?Is the internal HSI clock accurate enough for USB? Dear ST Community,I am using the STM32H573's SDMMC interface to communicate with a soft eMMC device implemented in FPGA:1.8V I/ODDR==0 modeCLKDIV>0.I'm setting up the timing constraints for the FPGA's CMD input versus the CK input and I have a query about the SDMMC interface timing.In the datasheet, Table 123 defines the tov and toh parameters. In which mode are these parameters valid? CLKDIV>0 and NEGEDGE==0?How would NEGEDGE==1 change tov and toh? Based on the diagrams of figure 164, I believe the tov and toh would increase by 1/2 the clock period. Is that correct?Thank you. Ben

Hello,I am using the STM32F767ZI MCU and was wondering if it is possible to check if a debugger is connected or not and if SWV is enabled, to avoid the UN-necessary looping when a printf is encountered.These are my requirements:Check if the user has connected a debuggerCheck if the user has enabled ITM trace from the debugger and connected to the correct port.(Port 0 in this case)If both points 1 & 2 are not done, avoid the looping when a printf is encountered.So when printf is called it invokes the _write function. Inside the write function we call ITM_SendChar(); in a loop. We are designing a benchtop device with an LCD, battery, and wireless capabilities and have chosen the STM32H7A3ZIT6 MCU and ST67W611M WiFi/BT SoC. It's intended to use TouchGFX for the graphics. Hello,I am using an STM32H7 MCU with STM32CubeIDE to communicate with a BiSS-C encoder in SPI RXONLY Master mode.My goal is to generate 64 SCK clocks every 10ms without delay.However, I am observing the following issue: Each time I call HAL_SPI_Receive(), SCK stays low for around 10 microseconds before the clock output starts.This happens regardless of SPI speed.At 1MHz SPI clock, the delay is around 10us.At 2MHz SPI clock, the delay reduces to about 5us.But there is always some delay before the first SCK pulse.The same code and settings on an STM32F103 board do not show this delay.I already tried RXONLY and FULLDUPLEX modes, manual NSS control, enabling and disabling NSS Pulse mode, but the result is the same.SPI settings:hspi1.Instance = SPI1; hspi1.Init.Mode = SPI_MODE_MASTER; hspi1.Init.Direction = SPI_DIRECTION_2LINES_RXONLY; hspi1.Init.DataSize = SPI_DATASIZE_8BIT; hspi1.Init.CLKPolarity = SPI_POLARITY_LOW; hspi1.Init.CLKPhase = SPI_PHASE_1EDGE; hspi1.Init.NSS = SPI_NSS_SOFT

So, I followed the following video step by step for a "project with a custom board" (video minute 13:04)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbdFHmMOMwkI am working on an STM32G0B1CBT6The code is generated and can be built, but as soon as I enable the Utilities->GUI_INTERFACE in CubeMX, the generated code results in a Hardfault during initialisation ( to be specific in the in the file Utilities-> GUI_INTERFACE->bsp_gui.c) during execution of the line number 80, that is    if ((0xFFFFFFFFu != *((uint32_t *)_addr)) && (MagicNumber != *((uint64_t *)_addr)))   Any hints on how to proceed debugging?Thanks!

This is a follow up to my previous post at:https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-products/stm32f103ret6-bare-metal-spi3/m-p/819878#M282227I got the boards built, and I'm starting testing.  SPI3 is not functional, so I started stepping through and checking SFRs.  One problem I'm having is that PB3 (SCK) and PB5 (MOSI) refuse to configure as alternate function push pull. In lines 26-33 below, PA15 goes to output, alternate function push pull just fine.  But PB3 and PB5 will only go to output, and open drain.  In line 35, I even tried to force the mode bits to "10" (alternate function push pull), and when I observe the mode bits for PA3 and PA5, they get set to "11" (alternate function output open drain).  My current attempt at SPI3 initialization is:void init_spi3(void) { // Note on ref manual page 699: need to disable JTAG because SPI3 conflicts with JTAG pins // Enable AFIO clock RCC->APB2ENR |= RCC_APB2ENR_AFIOEN; //(VERIFIED set properly by st

Hello everyone,I use a STM32G473VEH (TFBGA-100 package) and use it as USB PD sink:The device is bus poweredCC1 and DBCC1 are connected (same for CC2 and DBCC2) to provide dead battery functionality (provide 5.1 kOhm pull down on CC)USB C connector pins are directly connected to CC1/DBCC1 and CC2/DBCC2 (no special protection ic is used)When connecting the USB PD supply the CCx line is pulled down and after it is stable for 100ms - 125ms (depending on the power supply) the 5V are provided. When microcontroller is running, the UCPD is requesting 20V and this usually works.Here is a osci screenshot of a working negotiation (C3 is the Vbus voltage, C2 is the CC line voltage): BUT sometimes the negotation fails in the early stage. The USB PD source will not provide 5V.According to the standard the CC line must be stable for > 100ms. Right after connection the voltage falls from 3.3V to 1.65V (due to the Rp/Rd resistors).
