Hello!I have a question regarding the system clock source selection. Specifically, I would like to understand how the High-Speed External (HSE) clock works. Does the board already include a crystal or ceramic resonator that serves as the source for the HSE, or is it necessary to connect an external one?If the HSE is configurable in STM32CubeIDE as a clock source, why is that possible? I’m wondering how the system works in that context.Thank you!

I try to communicate (only Tx) with an external device every 50ms by calling a function inside Timer 2. When the system is running I am updating the flash of the microcontroller (erase then program) and this is causing my CPU to stall.Before writing this post I did my homework and I am aware that when a write/erase operation is being performed on flash, accessing the flash causes a CPU stall. To prevent this I am putting all the code, constants, ZI data and all other data on the RAM. I am doing this through Keil uVision's environment. I am also loading my Interrupt Vector Table to RAM by running code similar to that of https://www.keil.com/pack/doc/CMSIS/Core/html/_u

Hi ST experts, I'm using STM32F103RBT6, and for GPIO's Alternate functions, I want to use default, not remap.Based on its datasheet, I understand that when its SPI2 interface works in SPI master mode, PB15 acts as data output MOSI and PB14 acts as data input MISO.But my question is: When SPI2 is configured as SPI slave mode, which PIN acts as data output and which pin acts as data input?Thx a lot. BR,Jon

I want to communicate with a UART module using an STM32H723 Nucleo board. Receiving data and transmitting over DMA features. İf i choice USART2: PD5 (TX) and PD6 (RX) it works fine? İn same code if change usart2 to lpuart and if i change pins for lpuart and moving module to LPUART1: PB6 (TX) and PB7 (RX) it can NOT works. :frowning_face: The module works fine with normal UART, but for some reason I couldn't get it to work over LPUART. Even though I selected LSE crystal for LPUART and set the baud rate to 9600, it didn't work. I'm very new to this topic and my suspicions are around MSB first and FIFO settings. I am having problems trying to use the HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive function. I am using STM32CubeIDE along with the STM32U5G9J-DK2, I am configuring my side as a full duplex slave using the following parameters:I am working with an embedded processor that is acting as the Master, the features of which I do not have a complete understanding of. I do know it's implemented as a full duplex Master with the SPI1 port enabled. We have the embedded processor connected to the STM chip using the following pins.

I cannot figure out which pins to connect to I2C on the STM32F070F6T6 chip.  AN2606 says to use PB6/PB7 which do not exist on this part.  The only pins that are mapped to I2C1 are PA9/PA10 or PF0/PF1 according the data sheet.  My first spin of a board uses PF0/PF1 and that does not appear to be working.

HelloI'm always confused with the ADC clock config of H7 devices. ok, H7 is not a device for noob but ever after spending days reading datasheets, users manual, appnote, and filling spreadsheets, when starting cube MX, you will always find that the clock scheme you want to use is not available (and the one you think not reachable, is available).I'm using the H757, BGA240+40 @ VOS1. ADC2 and ADC3 configured to sample 6 channels each in scan mode. No injected channel.According to my understanding (please correct me where I'm wrong) :ADC1,2 are on D2 domain, AHB1 busADC3 is on D3 domain, AHB4 busADC max clock = 50MHz (after all prescalers) When using the async clock from RCC, max adc_ker_ck = 160MHz When using sync clock,- adc_hclk is the AHB1 (ADC1,2) or AHB4 (ADC3) clock : max 200MHz. Hi all,I'd like to use the RTC as a keeper of real-world clock. It would get synchronized with a (S)NTP server once a day. The RTC would get queried multiple times a day for the current time. The main challenge is that I'd like the timestamps to have a resolution of about 1ms. This should be possible according to the manual, but I'm not sure how to utilize the HAL to do so (if it's even supported by the HAL). When reading some HAL functions, it's mentioned that HAL_RTC_SetTime doesn't set the sub-seconds register.Is it correct to assume I'll need to use the low-level drivers to implement this functionality?Thanks 

Hello,with an ESP8266 I execute an erase memory command for the STM32F413CGU6 and when the sector is erased, the STM32 always performs a reset. Hi,I'm using the NUCLEO-H743ZI2 board and I'm trying to interface it with an external DAC MCP4922 via SPI.As explained in the documentation, the CS pin is very important because it is used to mark the end of a transmission for the DAC to put the received value on its output.The problem with this CS validation pin is that I can't use a SPI circular DMA with multiple values as I first imagined to do because in this case, the Hadrware NSS Output Signal configurable in the .ioc doesn't work as I would like (between each data).My actue

Hello, for a few days I have been trying to run the OV7670 camera on the STM32F446RE (Nucleo).Since the full QVGA RGB565 (153600 B) does not fit in RAM, for now i opted for QVGA Y8 Grayscale, however i must have some problem with how im configuring something  because i cant see anithing from the image in UART terminal and using the debugger im only seeing '00' in the buffer.Feel free to ask if you need further context or files. Regards, Marco

Hello,This is the first time I'm working with an STM32 and I have a question regarding the VREF+ pin. I'm creating a schematic for the MCU and I'm not entirely sure what to do with the VREF+ pin and I'd like some clarification on something. According to the datasheet, the connection between VDDA and VREF+ depends on the package type. I'll be using the 100-LQFP package and if I've read the datasheet correctly, that means that VDDA and VREF+ are internally connected? So I can just leave the VREF+ pin floating and still have access to VREF? Or would it still be best to apply a filtered voltage to the VREF+ pin externally? I have a filtered voltage supply to the VDDA pin already in the schematic and am I right in saying that if I have read the datasheet correctly, then there is no need to add another filtered voltage externally to VREF+, correct? I've been over and over RM0433 regarding how to set this mode up and I've never been able to get data from ADC2. ADC1 acts a bit oddly in that my reading says that 16 bit ADC results from both ADC1 and ADC2 are packed together in one uint32_t location. But in my work, I've seen only values from ADC1 (I have variable DC voltages from 0 to 3.3 on 4 ADC1 pins and 2 ADC2 pins). While I mentioned that I have voltages on only 2 of the ADC2 pins, ADC2 is set to convert 4 values as is ADC1. The data from ADC1 is packed as if it came from both ADC1 and ADC2, but I've verified that it's all coming from ADC1 pins. "Packed" as in two 16 bit values are in a 32 bit location and change when the external voltage is changed. EDIT ADD: This happened because I was using HALFWORD instead of WORD. Once I changed the DMA data width back to WORD, I see two 32 bit buffers that have activity, the others are constant zero. The high 16 bits appear to be noise, the low 16 bits are two of the ADC1 inputs.

Hi,Does anyone know if there is a chance for a new N6-device later this year having built in flash of at least 4MB?Our project is currently based on a one chip solution with a custom U5-board with built in FLASH/RAM of 4MB and a 5” Riverdi display. However, we need to migrate to a 7” Riverdi display and a MCU with higher performance. We are in strong favour of shorten time-to-market by keeping a low complexity integration (i.e. no external memories) and a straightforward PCB design.It would be really helpful to us if any plausible market intentions from ST are given.Thanks in advance

It works fine.If I disable the clock stretching feature, the slave can still receive messages, but it doesn't transmit back.
